Red Hill Mining Town is great. Picking deep cuts is easy for me, because with U2 they are the songs that I still like. Party Girl (Live, Under A Blood Red Sky), Bad (Live, Wide Awake In America), Spanish Eyes (b-side), Running to Stand Still, Wild Honey They also do a decent version of Patti Smith's Dancing Barefoot.
Surrender is a great song. I’ve always thought Hawkmoon 269 from Rattle and Hum is one of the best things they ever did. Check out the live version from Australia in 1989. Pretty epic.
As a long-term fan, U2's 'deep cuts' to me are far more interesting than their chart hits. I've always loved Drowning Man off War One Tree Hill off JT Original of the Species off HTDAB White as Snow off NLOH Cedars of Lebanon is great, Electrical Storm, Window in the Skies, An Cat Dubh, October, Wire, Heartland. Lemon. God Part II. So many great songs and yet ignorant people will say they are a chart/singles band with only a few decent songs. No Line on the Horizon for me is their greatly underrated album. I love that album and it's one I listen to the most. If they had held onto say Electrical Storm and put that on the album instead of the terrible, Get on Your Boots, then for me, that would have been a classic album.
I saw them in Ireland in 1979 in our college well before they became successful worldwide. Great deep cuts.
That’s awesome. Thanks for viewing.
@MrMojoRisin No bother at all. Great channel.
@ Thanks.
