Of the 3 candidates, I believe Mr. Ng will take his job as President of Singapore very seriously to carry out his duty excellently. He is the only candidate who is determined to do something great for the country and the citizens. The other two candidates looks frivolous and striving for the best retirement job. I see the common theme of survival that is still relevant today. For some of us, it isnt issues like bread and butter, poor living conditions, money to buy textbooks. But for some of us today, these issues are still true. Not despairing, having hope and working hard if you find opportunities (which Singapore created for him in his first job tho he wasnt qualified, and hopefully keeps creating for young people)... these are applicable lessons for today.
To effect a real change in Singapore,you cannot recycle old worn out party men to high office. A kaki nang will always be a kaki nang. Even if he or she changes a different uniform.
