I saw Nightwish (and Kamelot) in 2012 a week before Anette left the band. It was a small indoor venue. When they played this song, everyone was singing along, swaying back and forth together, people were putting their arms around each other, everyone was smiling. It was such a palpable feeling of fellowship that I didn't want the song to end.

What Floor said in 2013 has almost no bearing on what she would say in 2015, when she had been an active member for over 2 years, and an album had been written specifically for her talent. And Tuomas writes the songs but you don't think the band members don't get any input? After only a couple of concerts as a guest musician in October of 2012, Floor started playing around with the ending to Ghost Love Score in warmups. The band encouraged her to try it in concert and it is now an integral part of Nightwish history. That is not the story of an all controling Tuomas.

I just get lost in the best way every time I hear anything from Nightwish. This song, especially. It reminds me of an old sailor who no longer sails because the times changed, but he still longs for the sea. He probably spends his day in a mug of rum on his porch at his house on the beach reminiscing on days long gone
You missed his humorous introduction! Marco is a great, great singer. Watch some Tarot, Northern Kings, and Marco's solo album Pyre of the Black Heart starting with The Voice of My Father. [Edit: forgot to say Msrco wrote the music for this] Plenty of Marco in the Wembley show later the same year, and Buenos Aires 3 years later. That's a concert you should do one by one. Lots of Marco/Floor in that one too. After that, another 2 years before Marco left. If you like the Floor/Marco relationship, watch them singing Schubert's Ave Maria together.
Marko also won the Masked Singer in Finland and has been touring in "Raskasta Joulua" which sings heavy versions of christmas songs. So while he is mostly playing bass and some vocals with Nightwish there are other shows where he is singing. Other members have other side projects as well in different genres and they are interesting as well. And then there's Nightwish, which ranges from the folky songs of "Harvest" and "How's the Heart?" into the symphonic and operatic pieces.. That's quite a range they have as musicians.
ENDLESSNESS, was his last studio recording, and the last song on the first CD. It is unbelievable, and I thought one of the best. He left before they went on tour, the world was down because of covid. I would have loved to have seen him do it live, that would have been something.

Marko’s last performance was the final show of their Decades tour, Dec 14th 2018 if memory serves. I was there, front row, it was amazing. But as people have pointed out, they were already going into studio for Human::Nature, so there were no signs about it being his final show. No one knew. If I had, I would’ve died inside a little…

No, Marko was with the band throughout their 2018 tour. He stepped aside during the pandemic. This song gave Nightwish a chance to slow the show down and let Marko tell a little story. This allowed them to build the show towards the epic finale. This show was from 2015 and Marko will continue for a couple more years.
There are talented bands with good song writers, then there are talented bands with composers, then there are talented bands with a good singer / front person .....then there is Nightwish with a super talented band, an amazing composer and metal personified fro t Man with an amazing clear power voice and Floor ....... the breadth of talent and the amount of cohesion is truly rare.

If I am not mistaken, his last show with the band was In Helsinki in December 2018, though no one knew at the time. They didn’t tour in 2019 and then the pandemic struck and Marko decided to step away during the lockdown. There is a chance he could return, but it is looking highly unlikely now. New bassist, Jukka, is great addition to the band, but hasn’t done any vocals as yet.

It wasn't his last performance. I was lucky enough to catch him with the band in 2018 for the Decades tour. And last year I saw them again with his replacement . Is his presence missed? Yes. Is the band lost without him? No. Marko is in a better place and I'm happy for him and I'm also happy Nightwish still kicks ass

No not his last Performance, just watch the Noise Video, he were involved in the actual Album and Music, after that Production, and the postponed Tour actual, he quit music buiseness in general, blaming the greed in the industry. and he isnt official disbanded now, he himself called in an hiatus with open end. Although he is married just a couple of years now tto an gorgeous Woman, i wouldnt bet, he really misses that many Things in Life;) For me, and perhaps for many others, its just one more epic performance in nearly 30 Years, all recorded for the Times nowadays, and the Time to come. Just Like the End of an Era Concert, Wacken 2k13, 2k18 and Wembley 2k15 and the Tampere Concert here, South American Tour on Imganinerium, plus now for me Hellfest 2022. And you are long overdue for some Ayreon: the brain child of Dutch Arjen Lucassen, where you will see more talent in one place than anywhere outside of what a benefit concert can pull together. Valley of the Queens, When the World Breaks Down and Everybody Dies (you might just recognize someone who is in all of them - I think you just love her!). From Valley of the Queens, we will take you to the amazing Anneke van Giesbergen, pioneer of Dutch female symphonic metal singers, inspiration to Floor and Simone. The Gathering, Strange Macines at Pink Pop, something like 1996- so young! Follow Anneke to her collabs with possibly the most unknown, but most talented, Canadian musical performer ever, Devin Townsend. Ih Ah, with Anneke - anything that he did with Anneke! Then start with “Why” from his first of 3 quarantine concerts, which raised money for the Vancouver Hospital Foundation (concert 1), the UK’s NHS (concert 2) and the North Shore University Hospital in New York (concert 3). Move on to Kingdome, EMG. Then Dead Head from Royal Albert (pay attention to what he tells the crowd……). I will leave off with Hevy Devy…….. the epitome of humour and self deprication in a massively talented artist!
Floor jansen is one of the most insanely talented and versatile singers to ever grace this earth. And Marko never once came off second best on the stage with her. Enough said. Sadly missed.

It's so sad. I had tickets for Nightwish for before Marco left. But Covid stopped that show from happening and now I will never see Nightwish with Marco live 😭
That wasn't Marko's last performance with NW. 2018 Buenos Aires was a later one (and some great songs in it, f. i. "Dead Boys Poem", "Devil And The Deep Dark Ocean"). Marko left in January 2020 and it seems that he won't return ever😔. So he said in a recent 'Metal Hammer'-Interview. For him the book "Nightwish" is closed. Sad, but true...

This was in 2015…he left in 2021…I’m sure you’ve watched performances from Buenos Aires, which was in 2018. His last performance would have been the last show of the Decades tour, which was also some time before he left.
Marko is feeling better and seems to want to return to Nightwish according to recent interviews. I hope he doesn't feel he has burned bridges and is reluctant to give it a go when the timing is right. Personally I feel Jukka deserves to stay the bassist through this world tour (and I doubt Marko would disagree with that) but I wish to see Marko return with the band to record the next album. Wishes are often not how the world plays out in reality though. Worst case scenario is we still have these videos, the albums, and memories.
He said that he's happy & Doesn't expect a Call from Nightwish & Hasn't been watching anything new of Nightwish or Shows. Mental Health comes first. Love Marko 🤘

His tone in the interview makes it seem that he is definitely open to a return but is understanding if it doesn't happen. I agree his health comes first but all indications are that he's in good shape and moving up. I just hope there will be no miscommunications. If he does not return because it is for the best, that is one thing but if it becomes viable and ends up being a matter of two ships passing in the night, then it will be very unfortunate.
What was said in the interview he stated what comes to Nightwish they need to talk(things through) if he's going back and it's not only his decision. He got apart from the industry coz of the severe depression and anxiety + symptoms of adult ADHD on which he has medication and it's working. I think the RUclips algorithm is taking me in circles ,you could check out Scardust and there video Concrete Cages this is Pro Metal and takes me back to ELP and Yes in the 80s .The choir is called Hellscore they are conducted by the lead singer of Scardust and they do Metal A Cappella which includes Nightwish . This was suggested to me by You Tube because I like Patty Gurdy. Sorry to ramble.

My understanding is it was a rather sudden decision by Marco to leave - but it wasn’t about leaving Nightwish, it was about leaving the music industry. And it occurred in late 2020, early 2021 - I don’t know exactly when, I just know it was around when I discovered the band. Also somewhere around when the Nightwish Armies den mother Anne passed away.
Long-time depression and mental health issues overall. Management issues. It wasn't so much about 'leaving the music industry', at least not forever. He left public life at that time and wanted that no one bothers him. Marko have been active artist for a loooong time and he just needed a break. Since joining Nightwish he always had so many projects after Nightwish tours and of course important Tarot band was still active, so i don't know if he never really relaxed. He has performed this summer so let's see what happens in the future.

Great tunes, I would then recommend Sacrament of Wilderness from the early days & Devil and the deep Dark Ocean. I understand these songs are remade with floor and Kai, but they lack that raw early talent. Like Nightwish played really tight in the early days. Jukka the drummer really impressed me with his early drumming, he was raw talent. He turned down his talent mid Nightwish to fit the song vibes. IMO Anyways here is my input, hope you see this and consider. I’d say it’s a good time to dive into the past and I don’t see reactors go back into nightwish’s past. Keep it up. Jukka is now a permanent member of the band. NW posted that on SoMe a few weeks back.

And you are long overdue for some Ayreon: the brain child of Dutch Arjen Lucassen, where you will see more talent in one place than anywhere outside of what a benefit concert can pull together. Valley of the Queens, When the World Breaks Down and Everybody Dies (you might just recognize someone who is in all of them - I think you just love her!). From Valley of the Queens, we will take you to the amazing Anneke van Giesbergen, pioneer of Dutch female symphonic metal singers, inspiration to Floor and Simone. The Gathering, Strange Macines at Pink Pop, something like 1996- so young! Follow Anneke to her collabs with possibly the most unknown, but most talented, Canadian musical performer ever, Devin Townsend. Ih Ah, with Anneke - anything that he did with Anneke! Then start with “Why” from his first of 3 quarantine concerts, which raised money for the Vancouver Hospital Foundation (concert 1), the UK’s NHS (concert 2) and the North Shore University Hospital in New York (concert 3). Move on to Kingdome, EMG. Then Dead Head from Royal Albert (pay attention to what he tells the crowd……). I will leave off with Hevy Devy…….. the epitome of humour and self deprication in a massively talented artist!
Marco is/was the lead singer in a band called Tarot. check out Pyre of Gods by them.
Marco left in January 2021. Maybe temporary, maybe not. We'd love to see him come back. Depression is no easy road.

It's so sad. I had tickets for Nightwish for before Marco left. But Covid stopped that show from happening and now I will never see Nightwish with Marco live 😭
That wasn't Marko's last performance with NW. 2018 Buenos Aires was a later one (and some great songs in it, f. i. "Dead Boys Poem", "Devil And The Deep Dark Ocean"). Marko left in January 2020 and it seems that he won't return ever😔. So he said in a recent 'Metal Hammer'-Interview. For him the book "Nightwish" is closed. Sad, but true...

@GOTGames You really should do a reaction on the whole Tampere concert. It's been done by others so I don't think you get into much trouble if you do. It would be awesome to see you react to a whole show, and the Tampere version IS amazing in many ways. This was in 2015…he left in 2021…I’m sure you’ve watched performances from Buenos Aires, which was in 2018. His last performance would have been the last show of the Decades tour, which was also some time before he left.

Marko is feeling better and seems to want to return to Nightwish according to recent interviews. I hope he doesn't feel he has burned bridges and is reluctant to give it a go when the timing is right. Personally I feel Jukka deserves to stay the bassist through this world tour (and I doubt Marko would disagree with that) but I wish to see Marko return with the band to record the next album. Wishes are often not how the world plays out in reality though. Worst case scenario is we still have these videos, the albums, and memories.
He said that he's happy & Doesn't expect a Call from Nightwish & Hasn't been watching anything new of Nightwish or Shows. Mental Health comes first. Love Marko 🤘
@@Neonbob He said he is not expecting anything anytime soon with Nightwish and he's not waiting for a phone call, which is a little different. His tone in the interview makes it seem that he is definitely open to a return but is understanding if it doesn't happen. I agree his health comes first but all indications are that he's in good shape and moving up. I just hope there will be no miscommunications. If he does not return because it is for the best, that is one thing but if it becomes viable and ends up being a matter of two ships passing in the night, then it will be very unfortunate.
What was said in the interview he stated what comes to Nightwish they need to talk(things through) if he's going back and it's not only his decision.
He got apart from the industry coz of the severe depression and anxiety + symptoms of adult ADHD on which he has medication and it's working.
Summing up the interview he gave to Finnish daily paper...

Love Nightwish listened for a few years now. I think the RUclips algorithm is taking me in circles ,you could check out Scardust and there video Concrete Cages this is Pro Metal and takes me back to ELP and Yes in the 80s .The choir is called Hellscore they are conducted by the lead singer of Scardust and they do Metal A Cappella which includes Nightwish . This was suggested to me by You Tube because I like Patty Gurdy. Sorry to ramble.

My understanding is it was a rather sudden decision by Marco to leave - but it wasn’t about leaving Nightwish, it was about leaving the music industry. And it occurred in late 2020, early 2021 - I don’t know exactly when, I just know it was around when I discovered the band. Also somewhere around when the Nightwish Armies den mother Anne passed away.
Long-time depression and mental health issues overall. Management issues. It wasn't so much about 'leaving the music industry', at least not forever. He left public life at that time and wanted that no one bothers him. Marko have been active artist for a loooong time and he just needed a break. Since joining Nightwish he always had so many projects after Nightwish tours and of course important Tarot band was still active, so i don't know if he never really relaxed. He has performed this summer so let's see what happens in the future.

I understand these songs are remade with floor and Kai, but they lack that raw early talent.
Like Nightwish played really tight in the early days.
Jukka the drummer really impressed me with his early drumming, he was raw talent.
He turned down his talent mid Nightwish to fit the song vibes. IMO

No, far from his last performance. Think he performed up until 2020 and the lock downs, and his leaving was announced publicly Dec 2020. This video was released after his leaving.
