Yeah, it's really cool. Honestly, I've always wondered why Artisan went so heavy with the theming of everything for the T2 releases they did, other than it probably being the biggest property they owned the rights to at the time. They got Van Ling to design so much stuff for them, even designing that T2 THX trailer for the Ultimate Edition that Van Ling then eventually redesigned into Cavalcade for more general use. It's not a bad thing at all that they did all this, but rarely have I ever seen a company go to such an extent for theming; only Gaumont with their three films (Les Rivieres pourpres, Les Tontons flingueurs and Le Raid) that are famous for having their own THX trailers. Because of how rare it was, it's honestly a neat sight to see something like that.
@@homevideogallery I agree with your statement. Even some huge franchises owned by major studios never went this length when they did the DVD version of their movies
@@subwaygaragemusic Yeah, it's disappointing. But, if I'm going to be completely honest, I think T2 having that distinction is fitting since it's such a well-known and well-respected cultural touchstone.
Ngl, but THX will always be my favorite movie logo ever, cause of how ballistic the Deep Note is! I can tell it had some type of brass instruments or something else besides that, but anyways love the Deep Note, best logo in the world!
HINT/TIP: To view the theatrical version of Terminator 2, Highlight "Sensory Control," go right 5 times until "The future is not set" appears on the block on the right, then press "ENTER" on your DVD remote control. When the first menu command changes from "Play Special Edition" to "Theatrical Version," press "PLAY" to view the theatrical version. The audio commentary and interactive mode are only for the Special Edition, unfortunately, and the number of chapters will change from 80 to 72. To reverse the effect, highlight "Sensory Control," then go right to "Return to Special Edition Menu" until the first menu command changes back to "Play Special Edition," then everything will go back to normal for you to view the Special Edition.
I think we can all agree that DVDs are better than Blu Ray's. They had cool menu's and that THX logo before the movie. Blu Ray IMO is just a DVD with a dim picture to give the illusion of higher quality.
What? No, not at all. Blu-ray is much better on a technical level, and offers far better picture quality and almost always has lossless audio. DVDs had more flair because back then people cared more. There were still Blu-rays with THX before the film, I have even showcased them on this channel.
Yes! Always loved that Artisan T2 logo. Used to own this disc and I really dig that logo. Great to see it again in high quality.

It's not brass at all, it's all synthesizers. Always has been.
Pure nostalgia!
Does this also contain the secret extended version that was on the ultimate edition?
Nope, it's only the Special Edition.
@@homevideogallery thanks 👍

Are you aware of what happens when you stay on the Main Menu for a while?
I borrowed this DVD from somewhere else and returned it soon after, so I didn't bother to check.
@@homevideogallery Oh. Sorry.
@@logandexter931 No worries.
Are you still curious to what will happen if you do stay on the Main Menu though?
I'll find out for myself eventually.
