  • After a long day of garage sale, we decided to try an estate sale. The people running the estate sale had no idea what they were selling me.

Non resellers who want to be but think these videos are fake so they’ll never try it is what I’m guessing. Why do I say that? Because I used to be one lol. The first time I picked up a man cave sign for $2 and sold it for $20 I was HOOKED and have been full time for 4 years now.

@@picklikeapro6952 its awesome some of the things you can pick up, not full time (hopefully some day) but a lot of sales out there where they don't even know what the item is they're selling and sells dirt cheap lol

@@bsparks1283 awhile back I saw a post where it was a moving sale and they had 2 totes of transformers only toys and thousands of DVDs and for the DVDs (and series) they were selling the DVDs for $1 each and the totes were $50 each and just the first 3 transformers I looked up were $30-$40 each and there were hundreds so I jumped on it. They were doing appointments only and I was the first person but they had already had the DVDs up for months. The first trip he mentioned he was looking for a 2ds and I had one so I got both the totes, 2 swords and probably 100 dvd series for $60 plus the 2ds and a few games. The first dvd series that sold sold for $75 (Star Trek rare series) and the first transformer was a humongous one that wasn’t complete for $100 plus shipping but I noticed the transformers were missing parts so I went back and traded a switch for 3 more full totes (to try to find the missing parts because they averaged $50 complete) of other expensive looking toys including five nights at freddys minis and the first one that sold was a circus baby Walmart exclusive jumpscare mystery funko mini figure for $300 plus shipping and I’ve made about $600 off of 5% of the DVDs. Sorry for the book but yes, I absolutely LOVE this profession and the finds 😂.

@@picklikeapro6952 haha nice! Think my most exciting find so far was last year I had gone to a church rummage sale and found a old adler typewriter for $3 fully functioning and sold it for about $120. Speaking of dvd's had just gone to a subdivision sale earlier today and my first stop was at a hoarding house and man she had every kind of dvd/blu-ray you could think of AND they were all sealed too so I picked up like full seasons of crime shows and the whole series of 24. Had to pay a little more for all of it but I had gotten a total of 46 dvds with a bunch of box sets for $40 so little less then a dollar each all brand new lol unfortunately a good portion of the sales today had those "gold houses" I like to call them where they use the item and then comp them at ebay prices when they see brand new and toss them out into the garage sales and expect top dollar but hey you win some and loose some and it gets me out of the house and extra money 😀

@@bsparks1283 mine was a week into the lockdown. Someone listed an Xbox one rock band 4 full set for $40 with 2 guitars and when I looked it up it had literally just sold for $500 plus shipping with one guitar. At the time I was getting paid immediately on PayPal so I gave him $60 got it thinking I’d get $300-$400 eventually but I listed it all for $500 plus they paid $65 for shipping so I turned $60 into a $400 profit AFTER shipping and fees and it sold in 10 minutes and I got the money immediately 😂. Talk about excited. I was SEARCHING for that set the rest of the lockdown and never found it again but I did sell probably 40 wiis during the lockdown for $90-$100 each lol

I am impressed how you deal with the kids on a professional level. You don't attempt to take advantage of them as some would. You are always willing to give a little extra when dealing with the kids. You don't go around them and try and deal with the adults. Thank you for being the generous person you seem to be. I am a new subscriber and love watching your videos and seeing some of the things you come across.

I beg you to read all of my story of life or death..
I have a wool blanket, yellow lol as a gift 50years ago. I washed it and accidently shrunk it in the dryer.Which made its purpose all that more life saving. SO DONT PITCH IT!!
I'll tell you THAT BLANKET SAVED ME AND MY FAMILY LIVES!!
We had a chimney fire and a backdraft in our overloaded wood fireplace. My idiot husband put 5 logs instead OF 1 OR 2 . We had a bonfire 🔥 going up the chimney and blowing into the family room. The husband froze.
Told him to take our 4 kids out side for safety. Kids pulled him outside and watched me.
I quickly grabbed that wool yellow blanket and wet it best I could then held it up to the fireplace trying to smother the flames and keep our house from burning down. Yes I held that wet heavy blanket (wrapping my hands and lower arms) so I wouldn't get burned. Corner to corner to the corners of the fireplace. The power of the flames had me use my legs and feet to keep the blanket in place...
FIREMEN came in and looked at me in raw disbelief.
I stood my ground and stayed there until they examined my situation then in seconds they took over. I WENT OUTSIDE AND SAW FLAMES COMING OUT THE CHIMNEY.
I was scared for our neighbor. As the firemen did their thing those shooting flames 🔥 turned into chunks of coal blowing out. 😳 Still worried about the neighbors I voiced my concerns to the firemen. They calmed the fire and chunks. God Bless them. Thank God for our brave firemen who told me to never do that again..To protect my family I would do it again. Get those wool blankets. If there's a 🔥 wrap yourselves in it to get out.
Since that event the husband was forbidden to ever have another log EVER to burn again.
He complied. Kids too forbade him after seeing their Mama be so brave.
Yes I believe Divine Intervention protected me. I still have that yellow wool blanket around always.
By the way that blanket didn't even get a scortch mark and I didn't get burned much only a little red on my thighs and feet.
I ❤ a shrunken wool blanket. Is/was a shrunkin queen size. Fire extinguisher was under the kitchen sink. Spur of the moment the blanket was my go to. Husband froze so I couldn't do both. Chimney got cleaned by a fireman who knew how to get rid of the creosote that same week. Husband painted the ceilings and I used a wire brush to clean the scorched bricks around the fireplace.
      God Bless you all.

I sold a huge record collection last year but it was the whole collection or nothing. No cherry picking. I knew what I had. There were some albums worth $$$. Sometimes people just want to get rid of their junk and couldn't be bothered with all this online crap.

I sell used books on Amazon and my rule is to scan EVeRYTHING. Normally Steven King is a hard pass, but then again, I’ve never run across that red leather set. Good catch! And thanks for showing the listings….

Matt, it would be very helpful if you and Kayla would add numbers to the titles of your videos. Often you refer us to continue to a video by the other person, but it’s hard to figure out where to go. So, for example, you could say, “For more at this estate sale, see Kayla’s video #34.” Thanks both of you for taking me with you to my native Southeast and to my former life in the SF Bay area.

I know this video was a few years ago but man! I hope you bought those helmets on top of the books! One was a MkII helmet for the British army during World War II and the other was a turtle helmet or MkIII if you will also used in World War II especially by the Canadians on Juno beach during D-Day. Those are VERY valuable and can go anywhere from $500 to $1000! You may know this by now but it’s still very cool! Love watching your videos!
