Thank you so much for your coverage of the amazingly cool things the musicians & craftspeople at Kosmosky are doing with tongue drums. I have two of their drums: a Gmajor11e 12-inch Dvutone, which has a wonderful, ringing, bell-like sound with a magic sustain; and a Gminor New Wave 10-tongue model (the lavender color) which, like your Eminor, has the most astonishing pure tone. The New Wave is also 13 inches across, but it’s so light-weight that I can easily play it while carrying it, walking around!
Kosmoski duvietone and tritone sound the best. They have more presence with sustain and harmonics. They also project the sound out more. They seem to be good for hand playing as well as with the mallets. Kosmoski for me is the best sound!
They all sound wonderful; so many different timbres - can't possibly pick one as a favorite.....I'll take them all and play them in various combinations! Many thanks for posting this.
Well done! 👍I've been waiting a long time for a comparative video of this quality. The quality of the recording is superb. The Kosmosky are really on another level. Perhaps the best in the world. But I'd like to see other excellent products compared too. For example, the Polish 'Pulsar', the Ukrainian 'NovaDrum' and the French 'Steeldrum'. Personally, I have a tunable 9-note Steeldrum, which has a system of bars welded inside, for an even purer sound. It's excellent. Perhaps it deserves a second episode of comparison by Kalani 😉
Thank you for the thorough and unbiased overview. I have been looking at a variety of tongue drums, and you've helped me narrow it down. Kozmosky still at the top of my list because it still sounds beautiful, similar to a handpan, even when playing with your hands (my preference). Thanks again!
Both the b-minor drums and the e-minor drum were phenomenal with mallets but i really loved the hapi with finger tones... something about how the dragging of the fingers creates a lovely undertone.
This video is very informative. I also have a question. what mic are you using to record this quality for the Tongue drum. I just got a RC505 I'm leaning how to use it for my sound healing journey events. But I'm struggling. I may reach out to get some help if you don't mind.
Great content, info and music alike. Btw.. .what is your take on Liquid Light Acoustics? Did you ever play one of their drums? Polaris seems like an interesting thing...
I'm new to this. As an enthusiastic beginner, would you always recommend buying a Drum in the key of C? I'm just wondering if the most musical tabs available are usually for a C drum, or if I can just buy the drum with the sound/key I like the best?
the Kosmosky New wave drums are really great. I have the new wave symphony set, they are awesome, really pretty tones, and long sustain... I played them on several videos in my channel!
best sound for me: Kosmosky (never heard before) - but i have a 22" SELA handpan and a Rav Vast in B Rus: these are real music instruments, not only something like a musical toy...
Really nice demo and comparison of these drums. Is the Woody Tritone the B minor Insomnia version? I just received my 12" Kosmosky Flower of Life in the B minor Insomnia tuning. Even though it is not a Tritone (or even a Dvutone), it sounds very similar to the one you demo here. I also have a Tritone A minor and a Dvutone G major. The black friday deal on the New Wave 15 was too good to pass up and I'm really looking forward to that one! The Kosmoskys and Rav Vast are at the top of my favorites.🎶🙂
Next time tell us what key they're in, please. And where to get instructions that actually give some notes on scales... and explain the different scales Thanks.
I am new to the tongue drums. I have tried the ones on Amazon. No beautiful tones. I have tried one that was on FaceBook. Nothing compares to what I am hearing from the Kosmosky.
Kosmosky is different thing. Like them for their ambient and almost pad like sustain
Haven't heard those Kosmosky drums before but damn they are something else, they almost sound like a gamelan rather than a regular tongue drum.

Awesome Kilani🙏Thanks Brother…
Thanks for posting this, I’ve always wanted to try one out
This was great, hearing how different each one is. I liked the Woody tri tone.
Me too. Can't afford one tho.
My lawd... I looked up that Woody!! 500$! I can't.....dooooo....another hobby!!! Sounds so good!!

Love the Kosmosky! The tone is Amazing!
Wow. This was great! I’ve been looking at something in D minor.
I just bought a D major and it's great alongside my smaller 10 inch C. I find D fairly relaxing to listen to.
Both the b-minor drums and the e-minor drum were phenomenal with mallets but i really loved the hapi with finger tones... something about how the dragging of the fingers creates a lovely undertone.
I know nothing about Tongue Drums (researching), but Kosmosky all the way from what I hear here!
el Kosmosky es UNICO

Thank you for this demonstration.

do you do lessons on your Patreon site for this type of drum?
Kosmosky is just hands down the best
Kosmosky has the harmonics under control which makes them sound the best.

The Woody
The kosmosky drums are heavenly.
Dear Sir,
Kindly guide me from where can I purchase kosmosky dvutone b minor tongue drum. I am from India.
