Are you weird if you actually remember all of this easy. Same for tech really, even better understanding. Although intel have messed up their cpu names a bit. Nvidia have it really simple...
PT 6266 means 62 mm compressor wheel inducer and 66 turbine wheel exducer. 66mm exducer on a compressor wheel is small like won't get to 300hp. the garett gt 2871 has a 71 compressor exducer. The most important dimension is exhaust wheel exducer because is the hole size of the exhaust gases exit the turbine. If is too big the turbo won't spool to make boost at any rpm.
6266 is actually a 62mm inducer on the compressor side and a 66mm exducer on the turbine side. For an example you can search a 6266 on realstreetperformance and they will give you these same specs. So this video is actually backwards, though a simple mistake
Lloydy___ Do 5 minutes of your own research and youll find it does not get any more simple than what i said lmao! Im not trying to sound like a cock, but it is honestly truthful.
FINALLY, a video that gets straight to the point explains where the sizes come from haha! I always never know what the “6266” would mean. And all the videos are to long to explain it.
Does anyone know why the turbine wheel is bigger than the compressor wheel? Wouldn’t a smaller turbine take less gas to spoil quickly and with a large compressor wheel move even more air to the engine ?
Am I the only one that noticed that Precision was explained incorrectly? The roles are reversed, the first two number are for the compressor and the second two are for the turbine. I've installed a few of them :)
Honestly who tf tells everyone their full turbo specs, I just say mines an HX35 if you know it awesome if you dont I aint givin you the pbs special on it
Your explanation of the numbers relative to the inducer/exducer in your example Precision turbo are incorrect. 62 is the mm of the compressor inducer and 66 is the mm of the mm of the turbine exducer. Also, there is no uniform means of using these numbers - sometimes they'll be inducer/inducer, exducer/inducer, inducer/exducer, exducer/exducer, or an altogether different numerical strategy is used, such as in Garrett's new G25-550 and G25-660 turbos, which use frame size and bhp rating. If people are looking to this video for answers to understand the numbers on turbos, they're much better off looking for the explanation of this for particular turbos from that particular manufacturer, as there is no uniform numerical system.
Being able to compare two turbos is not the same as "knowing what they're talking about" not they they themselves probably even know either. Knowing isn't being able to identify which is better
Loads of directly wrong information here. Precisiona states their turbos with the compressor first and PT6266 has 62 mm compressor inducer diameter and 66 mm turbine exducer. Capasity is about 700 hp. Garrett states their turbos with the turbine frame size first and then based on compressor wheel exducer diameter. A GT2860 turbo has 60 mm compressor wheel exducer and about 46,5 mm compressor inducer. Capasity is about 330 hp. EFR turbos from BW states their turbos based on compressor wheel exducer diameter and turbine wheel inducer diameter, like 7670. Very confusing in the beginning. Regarding trim; Compressor wheel inducer diameter is way more important for airflow than the trim of the wheel. With the same inducer diameter, compressor wheels with low trim, like 44, spools much slower than compressor wheels with high trim, like 60. On the positive side, compressor wheels with lower trim is more efficient at high boost pressures. Turbo lesson 101. Focus on compressor wheel inducer diameter. :)
For the love of god trim has NOTHING to do with air flow... And no, bigger trim is not higher air flow. For people still interested in trim, the smallest the number the more air te turbo can move under higher boost levels.
Finally I can understand 1320 videos !!
hultii Do you mean 1320, not 1302?
haha yeah just realized that :)
Car throttle
Tomislav F Facts!
Tomislav F you better watch your mouth
I don’t understand why these videos are not at their main channel. If you think about it their main channel doesn’t have that much content.
Nice. So its chaotic and nobody can remember. Good to know

This video is extremely helpful! Been shopping around for a replacement upgrade for my VF37 and now I actually understand some things 😂

Jesse A70 Can this get more likes? I noticed the same thing.
Until now i though my knowledge about car was huge...
Up next rotaries & pistons.
Same lmao
Same
i agree tardive braking
How transverse engine transmissions work? That would be a cool video
Lloydy___ CV shafts mated to the output shaft mated to the planetary gears mated to a torque converter mated to the flexplate. Done.
Andrew Long lets let CT turn that into a video which makes sense
Lloydy___ Do 5 minutes of your own research and youll find it does not get any more simple than what i said lmao! Im not trying to sound like a cock, but it is honestly truthful.
Andrew Long I know, it’s just an idea for a CT video
@@AndyE30 fuck automatics
Thank You for this video (and a lot more). Learning made easy.
i had to rewind atleast 50 times
Your avi makes your comment even funnier and more relatable 😂😂😂
My knowledge has increase soo much
Thanks guys for making this video , it was really helpful
I did knew the brand & model of those turbos “sort of” but the other specs didn’t know of... Thanks CarThrottle! 👍🏼
Great video but can you pleas make a video about mufflers or exhaust in general.
So would this be considered a 62mm or 66mm turbo?
lol! a PTE6266 has a 62mm compressor wheel ID and 66mm Turbine. Got that one backwards.
Wrong way around guys! 6266 would mean 62mm inducer comp wheel and 66 exducer turbine wheel
Great info.. it still doesn't tell me what size turbo I need for the rpm range I'm looking for.
Thats why i love this channel. 💥💥💥
Thanks for this.
I really need to watch this video a couple of times
How transverse engine transmissions work?
# Saab turbo
Hahaha. It never says what type it is, its just "SAAB Turbo"
Part # 450729 OR 82646937 OR 72635208 OR 735143-8364.
(Saab owners will get the joke!) 😂🤣😂🤣
Before this i was totally unfamiliar about this.. thank you car throttle...
FINALLY, a video that gets straight to the point explains where the sizes come from haha! I always never know what the “6266” would mean. And all the videos are to long to explain it.
precision part numbers actually correlate to the smaller part of the wheels
Great work
A Precision 6266 has a 62mm COMPRESSOR wheel and a 66mm turbine wheel. Not the other way around
One thing is the amount of air in psi or bar or mmgh
That's pretty cool, never knew what the numbers ever meant really
Does anyone know why the turbine wheel is bigger than the compressor wheel? Wouldn’t a smaller turbine take less gas to spoil quickly and with a large compressor wheel move even more air to the engine ?
thanks
My one is wearing a little jacket that looks very difficult to unbutton!
What to do?! (2006 "Facelift" SG9 Subaru Forester)
Why does the title graphic have a question mark?
What about 15t 18t 19t etc, what does the t mean?
Thank you
Cool, but how do I calculate the viscosity of blinker fluids from part numbers?
TD04HL-18T
What does it mean
i have got a abb vtc 254-14 turbocharger on my honda lawnmower ...oh i mean civic..
Can somone explain me this turbo: VB420011
İt is from İHİ for Opel Astra F 1.7TD İsuzu
İ can not find any information about this turbo.
So what about my TD04HL-16T?
SnabboNL Volvo 2.3 t5? Cause I was wondering about that exact turbo.
SnabboNL
TD04, Family and frame Size
HL, type of turbine wheel design
16 is Size of the compressorwheel (43,4mm ind), T is design of compressorwheel.
Dennis Blom you legend. Thank you :)
can we have one for the MHI turbos?
what is the best turbo for 150cc bikes? 😂
You got the numbers around the wrong way with the Precision turbine/compressor wheel size...
Very useful
So what are the specs of an HX40W?too complicated for me xd
2:21 or not
So Uhhh. What about K03, K04, K16...?
Damn this is helpful af
i still dont understand but i enjoyed!!
And yet, I have a feeling the ol' Turbo Yoda's got more in him.
So what's a CN 205/205 T40 A80?
Ellenor Malik helicopter?
Knowledge!
So more = more. Got it.
*HEAVENSU DOOR!*
What about K03/4 and T66?
K03 / K04 / T66 = Family and frame
K03/K04 belong to IHI
T66 belongs to Garrett/Turbonetics
K03 = 44.7mm inducer / 45mm exducer
K04 = 50mm inducer/ 50mm exducer
T66 = 66mm inducer / 64mm exducer

Maybe if someone is looking to buy one, it might be useful information comparing between brands!
Com Truise yeah a medium sized holset 😂👌🏽
Anyone know what program that is at 0:06?
Level solidworks or some sort of cad
Yeah i was pretty adamant i saw the software before. I just have no idea what to use, i want to CNC a custom made front strut brace for my car.
Level last year in school we did solidworks in my engineering class, but we used a small 3d printer instead of a mill or anything like that

nvm now i got the hang of it, didnt even know this was a thing i should know lol
bigger AR, more flow needed to spin the turbine..turbo LAGGGG
Hi
Hate maths sooooo will stick with NA
Just get as big numbers as possible, and you're fine. ;)
Thanks for answering a question I didn't know I had.
Not being sarcastic btw.
Um, we say "mathS" here in Blighty Mr CTE! Nevertheless ...thumbs up (he said defensively).
NA for life
Supercharger for eternity
Turbo for the after life in heaven
Twincharger for all
More turbos than cylinders ftw (especially on 12 cylinder engines)
Nitrous, roman candles anyone? 🤘🤘😈😈
Can you repeat that again, like 500 more times please?
I'll Stick to naturally aspirated for the while 💀
Obviously
That 510 tho
Niceeeeeee

Pretty hard
Trim has nothing to do with air flow -
now i know how to read a turbo but i still dont know how to read tires

Yay, come to car throttle for incorrect information!
Still too fckin complicated
Why make it so complicated...? Imagine if cars were named like this, with width and height and length and brand TO450015002000DILALOAÖNGELAPFMA
