    One of the most recent launch trailers for last of us to remastered showed exactly what the game is. Two playable characters, each going after each other I would have loved for that to have been the first time you’ve seen Abby and that’s all we would’ve gotten. Guitar thing is a fun gimmick, but it's hard to precisely pick individual strings and you can't choose notes.
    So to play a song you have to be resourceful. Like change to a chord you dont even want to strum just to pick the one note on the chord you need for a melody.
    It's frustrating and limited. For strumming chords it's fine. Basically it's a "play wonderwall" simulator.

    Friendly reminder that no matter what you think of TloU2, it was false advertising. We were meant to play as joel for a bulk of the game according to promotional media, and cutscenes were model-swapped to mislead players into this thought process, thinly veiled under the reasoning of avoiding the true story's spoilers. Instead of “remastering” TLOU2 and wasting who knows how much time and money on that multiplayer mode that kept ballooning in scale they should’ve instead decided to remake their older games and make sequels to those. That would’ve made more sense than what they did. I’m glad that they added that new content, but the same energy would’ve been much better spent on something else. Sadly, we know from the Insomniac leaks that group has no desire to bring back their older IPs like Resistance, and it’s safe to say Sony’s other studios are the same way. You’d think that with the recent Activision Blizzard purchase Sony would radically alter their game plan and decide to revitalize a lot of their old IPs to better compete.
    It’s also crazy how big of a dumpster fire modern Bungie is. Right now they’re giving 343 a run for their money when it comes to worse management and being horribly out of touch (in fact they’re so bad that Activision were the ones keeping them on track. What makes Microsoft’s purchase even funnier is if they did it a little sooner Bungie would’ve returned to their stranglehold🤣). A lot of people like to argue that Reach was Halo’s sendoff and everything past that was going downhill. The funny thing is I’d say the same for Bungie. Shortly after they left Microsoft a good chunk of the people who made Bungie what it was either left, lost their way, or were moved to managerial/bureaucratic positions where they have little to no creative input. Whenever I hear someone say they want Bungie to return to Halo I’ll usually respond by quoting that one out of touch condescending Blizzard guy who said “you think you do but you don’t” because it fits perfectly😂. In fact both modern Bungie and 343 are so bad that I’ll oftentimes think that Microsoft’s original plan for Gearbox to take over Halo would’ve been the better choice. At least then its decline would’ve been hilarious because Chief probably would’ve acted like Duke Nukem and we could’ve gotten Aliens Colonial Marines with Halo marines. Then again, this could be a combination of the grass is greener on the other side and you’re better off with the devil you know than the devil you don’t.
    That video was entertaining. Good job on it.

      With all the leaks Naughty Dog has, if they *had* anything done for multiplayer at all, wouldn't we have seen it by now?
      The "Bungie made us stop!" excuse is just there to save face, because the truth that they didn't even have a GDD due to incompetent management doesn't exactly inspire brand confidence.

    • @shreksnow1918

      @Centrifewgi It’s pretty crazy just how far Bungie has fallen. Apparently, during Destiny 1’s development they muscled out Joseph Staten and a bunch of the other creatives left as well. Over the years so many of the people responsible for Bungie’s growth jumped ship for various reasons. One thing I find really interesting about Bungie is how they always wanted to be indipendant. Which, is why they tried to get purchased by Apple, then were acquired by Microsoft, left Microsoft to sign on with Activision, and have left them to join Sony. The reason given for joining Sony was because they wanted to make shows with their different IPs. From what I’ve heard Destiny has a bunch of truly insane and deep lore, but you’d never know that because they did an atrociously bad job of presenting it. In fact the first game’s story was so bad that “they didn’t have time to explain why they didn’t have time to explain😂”. Marathon has a lot of really cool lore, but I’m not sure if that would translate well into a show or movie. Myth their old rts is in Take Two’s hands, and Microsoft owns Bungie. The rest of their stuff are just Mac versions of games that existed elsewhere. I really don’t know what they expected to gain. Unless, that’s just a cover for them losing a bunch of money (wild speculation that could be farcical). It’s a shame they’ve become what they are now.
      Since we’re on the topic of Bungie, what was one of Halo’s biggest missed opportunities during their run in your opinion? For me it’s the lack of human enemies. We should’ve been fighting against marines/ODSTs and alongside Brutes as the Arbiter prior to the Great Schism. It would’ve added some much needed enemy variety to his repetitive sections, it would’ve enhanced Halo 2’s dualistic narrative by showing us what it’s like to fight on the other side of the Human Covenant War, and it would’ve made the eventual alliance between humans and Elites feel far more shaky and like one of desperation. Plus, had we gotten Halo 2’s original ending with the “big reveal” it would’ve made the ending feel a lot more impactful if the player was actively involved in the near extermination of humanity and was unknowingly working to cover up the Prophets’ lies. They also could’ve had Sentinels fighting alongside humans and shown them naturally interfacing with Forerunner devices that don’t respond to other species as a way to foreshadow the human Forerunner connection. As for the Brutes. If they were actively involved in the race for the Index instead of just kind of being there until Bungie wanted to add another enemy type it would’ve made them feel like a proper member of the Covenant. It also would’ve been a great way to indirectly show that player what those things are capable of before you go up against them. Also, if we got to see Brutes and Elites fighting and dying alongside each other it would’ve made their eventual betrayal sparking the Great Schism feel more impactful. What do you think of that little rant? I’d like to hear your thoughts on by bold statement that Halo would be better if we had human enemies where appropriate (no idea what that’s a controversial statement because if done right it can greatly enhance the story and gameplay. I have some other “hot takes” about Halo, but this comment is long enough already).
      What are some Sony games that you’d like to see get remade? Personally, I’d love to see Killzone and Resistance make a return. I unfortunately haven’t played either of those since I just had Shrexbox and Nintendo growing up. Although, I did play Ratchet and Clank, and Little Big Planet a bunch at a friend’s house. Both of those were a lot of fun and I’d love to see Sony bring those to pc. I’m glad that people are able to enjoy the various enhancements Naughty Dog added to TLOU2. I just wish those same resources were allocated elsewhere.

      @@shreksnow1918honestly, I'm not sure about how I feel with having human enemies in Halo. There is a lot of lore that would easily make it fit, but Halo has always been about saving humanity, so killing them takes away from it's identity a bit to me. The only thing I can really think of that I wished they would have done with their run of Halo is make ODST an actual unique experience. There are hints of something that could have been amazing instead of a Halo 3 reskin with weaker stats. The noir-esque atmosphere and story were definitely above average. I appreciate that they attempted a different story structure.
      However their open world city was lame. It really lacked any depth as far as detail and interesting things to see goes. I wish the situation felt a bit more desperate and that they changed up the gameplay to reflect the situation and in the process make it more survival based with strategic elements. During the flashback missions have all out action like they do.
      But during the more somber rain soaked ventures through war torn streets, don't just give the player the option to avoid combat, but make it so that the player has to choose when the best time to use their ammo is.
      As far as the Elites and Brutes go, I agree their conflict could have been handled better. I do feel in the short amount of time before the great schism rears it's head that Tartarus does paint a pretty good picture to hate the Brutes. There inclusion also never seemed forced to me even though they are there to replace an enemy type. It helps that you also realize all of the prophets are simply using them as pawns much like they did with the Elites.

      @Centrifewgi (1/2) Yeah, I guess I can understand where you’re coming from. Even though I don’t really agree with it. I think if human enemies were used sparingly like my previously mentioned idea for a flashback mission where we get to see Spartans actually being used for their original purpose, and pre Schism Arbiter missions to change up how you play the game. There’s mods that add human enemies, and they’re a lot of fun. But, simply are not balanced. If your opposition to human enemies in Halo was based on the fact they’re clearly aren’t balanced for the player to fight against I’d agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment. That’s one things that would need to be HEAVILY reworked. When you have a lot of cover and flanking routes it becomes a fun game if you and the enemy trying to take each other out. If you’re out in the open it simply isn’t fun because they fire accurate weapons you cannot dodge. The level design can really make or break their encounters. One good thing an Infinite is that game proved it can be fun to fight against enemies armed with fast ballistics by tweaking their accuracy and firing patterns. There’s also this Reach mod Hand of the Prophets that gives human power weapons different colored laser pointers as a quick heads up. It doesn’t make much practical sense for the enemy to have a clearly visible line leading back to the user, but nor do the Jackal snipers having a helmet with a bright light giving away their position. Both of these are fine because they make the game a lot less frustrating.
      What you said about human enemies taking away from Halo’s identity makes sense, but I think if done right they wouldn’t be too out of line. Unfortunately, most other people I’ve encountered have some really bad arguments against human enemies that usually fall into one of two categories. The first of these comes from the people who CONSTANTLY complain about how Halo has lost its grittiness and needs blood/gore (a sentiment I largely agree with), but when you say Halo would be better with human enemies they’ll say “it’s too violent” and “the appeal of Halo to parents is the fact you’re not fighting people”. This would hold water, were it not for the fact the game is already rated M, and in most of them you’ll end up fighting the reanimated corpses of infected humans you can dismember. As you can see that’s quite the contradiction. The other one is the belief that human enemies are boring and everyone else was doing them. The fact so many others had human enemies wasn’t the problem. The real issue comes from the fact that in most cases their ai was super bad causing them to be uninteresting to fight, or if they have fairly decent ai the level design isn’t built around their strengths (Half-Life 2 is a great example of the latter. If you put the Combine into a map that’s like the ones you see in FEAR where there’s a lot of cover and flanking routes you’ll see the Combine actually work as a squad to take you down. Also, if you play the game like a cover shooter they’ll have a few squad members shoot you from afar to keep you distracted while the shotgunner charges you, and they’ll use grenades to flush you out of cover. Unfortunately, they’re almost never thrown into environments that were actually designed with them in mind like the places you fought the Half-Life 1 marines were. There’s also no real incentive to hide behind cover since health is so plentiful that rushing them and jumping around is the most viable option. Their health is also a little too low, and that’s prevents them from being alive long enough for the player to witness their behaviors/abilities. It’s such a shame that for most of the game they feel generic because of this. In Nova Prospekt they truly shine). The original FEAR had you primarily fighting human enemies and NOBODY complained about “boring human enemies” because the level design and great ai kept you on your toes throughout the game. They also had a wide array of very specific lines that made them sound even smarter than they actually were. If human enemies were like that I highly doubt that many people would take issue with them.
      I actually agree wholeheartedly with you on your ODST take. Bungie did a phenomenal job with the overall presentation, the marketing, and subtle details of making you feel like a normal human. Unfortunately, you didn’t actually play like a normal human since it was just diet Halo 3. I’m of the opinion it should’ve been a tactical shooter with a fleshed out stealth system that really made you think about how you’d go about combat encounters, while simultaneously giving the player a wide array of options to take out the enemy. “Silenced” weapons weren’t actually quiet and would still alert enemies when you fired them. Something else that’s interesting is during Halo 3’s development they briefly prototyped a leaning around corners mechanic that got scrapped because they didn’t feel like it fit with the player being a walking tank. Why they didn’t bring that back for ODST where it would’ve fit like a glove is beyond me. I also agree that they could’ve done a lot more with New Mombasa’s map to make the different areas stand out and be more interesting.

    What really pisses me off about Part 1 is that you can’t dodge. This is crucial, especially when you have to face a Bloater, because the game has improved the way the infected move so that it moves faster, but Joel still moves just as slow as he did in the original game. So that makes it harder for you avoid getting literally ripped apart by a Bloater.

    The only good aspect of tlou2 was the ending. Having that heartfelt scene between Joel and Elli broke me, but you could've had that without killing him in the first 20minutes.
    Get Joel and Elli seperated - make Joel the second character, not Abby. Never have them reunite, only seeing each other ever do slightly and THEN kill Joel in the end. Even If its not a heroic death. The final scene would've had the same effect.

    • @Centrifewgi
      @Centrifewgi  8 месяцев назад

      How they chose to structure the story was 100% odd. Even if you keep Abby. Play as her all the way up till Joels' death, and then the last half is a revenge story where either Abby or Ellie dies.

    • @theEisbergmann
      @theEisbergmann 8 месяцев назад

      @@Centrifewgi I didn't have a problem with abby as a character, but I personally think her character developement is flawed. So flawed that it sticks out like a sore thumb amidst the great writing we saw in tlou2.
      The plot was about "revenge doesn't make you happy" but Abby never said or showed that killing Joel wasn't what she thought it would be. She had no qualms about killing dozens, maybe hundreds of people but all of a sudden she's like "oh no we must stop this madness." because Owen said so once before he died. It just seemed so freaking forced, just so Elli could have her character shift as well.
      And while I don't care either way about lgbtq representation, if its done well (which it often isn't imho), I think they just kinda lost the plot here.
      Bill was amazing. Yeah he was gay. Was it important for the story? No. Let him be gay without making it his only character trait.
      I even thought Elli being gay was okay, even though my lesbian friend said it felt a bit forced. The love story with Dina was fine and all, but to have a second lgbtq-focused storyline in there was kinda "•sigh• yeah whatever•"
      I liked Lev ... I had liked him more if they had not made his gender an important issue is what I'm saying.
      I do think Abby got more hate than she deserved, but was she a well written character? I really don't think so.
      All in all I thought Tlou2 was good. It would've been amazing had they not made the same mistake "modern audience"-media did for ten years, by shitting on existing characters.
      Joel died in the most miserable way imagineable (and I get that they didn't want him to have a heroic death), Tommy got crippled, divorced and miserable, Elli basically divorced ... and Abby got basically character assassinated the moment she killed Joel. If you do that you really need an AMAZING character arc to save her in the eye of the players.

    • @Centrifewgi
      @Centrifewgi  8 месяцев назад

      @theEisbergmann I can see where you are coming from with Abby, but I felt differently. I don't think we need a clear moment of reflection or regret in her decision to kill Joel because we see it through the entire game. Everyone around her is dying. People who she dragged into it that initially didn't want to be a part of it altogether. She's responsible for those deaths. I also feel like she is the reverse of Ellie. Letting revenge consume her and going on to restore some of her humanity through Lev.
      Whereas Ellie loses Joel and goes on a murdering spree that strips her humanity away from her. Becoming something she mentally can't handle. Where they differ is that Abby didn't want to kill anyone besides Joel and she succeeded in that.
      As for Lev, yeah, I found him to be a bit heavy-handed because his whole identity is his defiance from traditional gender roles. While Ellie's fancy for women is merely a part of her character.

      @@Centrifewgi This is were I disagree, I think. It never felt as if Abby really regretted killing Joel, just the situation she is in. But this - I think - is where the situation feels a bit up to interpretation because the story has a "don't tell" in that approach. You can interpret Abby being remorseful, but I don't think she really is. I'll just replay TLOU2 soon and see if I feel differently then. I've yet to platin it, so it will be a good opporturnity.
      I've platined the original, got the Remaster and played through Grounded Mode again, played through 2 directly on hard, but never touched it after the first playthrough again. Not because I thought it was catastrophically bad, but it just didn't leave me as wanting as the first one.

    "You can't say they lack creative integrity"
    Yes, yes we can. The entire story is a rework of Neil Druckmann's rejected Tess hunts Joel plot and written with a chip on his shoulder to throw away everything from the first game to continue with Abby. When testers didn't like the new direction, Neil would fire them, something confirmed by Jason Schreier. When testers kept pressing a QTE to drown Abby, they removed the QTE. When this petty little failed comic author repeated criticisms the people who worked on the first game about his rejected Tess hunts Joel plot and how it, conceptually, does not work in the Last of Us setting, he connived his way into getting them fired, something confirmed by Nolan North now ex-VA for Nathan Drake.
    He did not have the creative integrity to simply tell a standalone revenge story because, as experience showed him with his failed comic ventures, *nobody* wants a Neil Druckmann project unless it's attached to an already established name.
    Looks like the ending wasn't the only part with misinformation.

    Well, even now it shows old niel didn't learn and still makes Joel basically useless from the sounds of not being able to dodge,
    They just keep crapping on the character an audience.
    I see bungie not seeing any potential in the game being a God send, if they couldn't find anything good just imagine how bad it must have been, anyway as a mostly single player gamer- I am sick of live service multi player games that last a month an are tossed in the trash by most.
    There is no real substance or depth, nothing really worth seeing or doing in those game's, in my mind they are just games aimed at the type of gamer that gets high all the time & just mindlessly plays the same damn thing over & over an not notice it because they are blazed.
    I too loved the masterpiece that was part 1 & hated tlou2, an still do, it is such a shame because part 2 should have been a step up from part 1, but once you play part 1 you expect something more in part 2 and you don't really get anything that isn't very surface level,
    Like the enemies talking to eachother and saying eachothers names etc. While very cool, was very surface level and didn't really add much of anything,
    The story was depressing and abysmal, it was...boring, very boring, the best and only exciting set piece was literally like a half hour into the game, if that, the rest is just boring lame bs with some very wack shock value tossed in to really make some kind of statement that just didn't work considering they completely tossed out everything they set up with 1 character just to make it work,
    But that isn't the only reason I can't stand the game, it is just boring, very long lulls, the pacing was just god awful,
    no new exciting elements,
    while it was technically an amazing "looking" game- I'll come back to that in a second-
    & the gameplay had a solid core, it left a lot to be desired,
    there is so much more they could have added to make the game so much better,
    Better puzzles an a more interactive world with more to do, more to find, more ways to play, more tool's & weapons to use in a lot more ways, a better more fleshed out skill tree could have helped, a story that was more exciting and had way more varied encounters, instead just about all the encounters play out the same throughout the entire game,
    Even the death animations are exactly the same for the very few number of enemy types, there is no varsity there like say- dead space or the evil within has,
    Just like how alan wake was so much better than part 2 witch has a lot of the same issue's tlou2 has,
    That lack of enemy variety and the fact they didn't focus more on the infection & new enemy types including boss battles, really hurt the game a lot a ton in my mind,
    It is also a lot of the same issue the very flawed dying light 2 has compared to the masterpiece that is dying light 1.
    At the end of the day I really worry the next game- if there is one, is gonna focus way more on telling a certain kind of story that only wokies will love & the graphics,
    With hardly any real depth to the game being there, just more surface level crap, maybe 1 or 2 new enemy types, same amount of tool's weapons,
    And semi large semi open world levels that are basically devoid of anything fun or actually scary or exciting, just another chore of a game.
    I wish game developers would stop spending so much time on graphics and go back to the way they were doing it when we use to get a trilogy of amazing games an maybe 1 or 2 more on 1 single console generation, it would be so much better.

      Because remastering hasn't been profitable under Neil Druckmann's control.
      Yeah, once you do a bit more digging than none at all, relying exclusively on puff pieces by Naughty Dog's PR team using gaming publications as proxies, you find out that TLOU2 was the start, having not made it's budget back and being a multi-million dollar loss. This was then followed with the 2022 remaster of the first game which sold worse than the Saints Row reboot and, similarly, did not make it's budget back. You then got a hastily shoved out remaster of the second game, which is then revealed just to be a port to the PS5 with DLC slapped on, and we haven't got the numbers on what the budget for that is nor what it sold, but it's been pretty pathetic so far.
      Changes in Sony leadership meant Neil Druckmann's reign no longer was allowed a blank check to FAFO with an entire company, Sony's now wanting to see returns on what they spend.

    i like how you call it an "upgrade" which it SHOULD be but its tlou2 remastered that is being sold. this game wouldn’t get this much backlash if it was just called tlou2 directors cut or it being an actual upgrade. not to mention that this roguelike gamemode is a pretty bad ROUGELIKE. If we compare it to hades or binding of isaac its actually laughable how bad it is at being a roguelike and tiny add ons like outfits and guitar mode that should’ve literally been free.
    another thing is if people own the physical copy of tlou2 and wanna get the upgrade? REST IN PEACE because you now have to pay 50(or more) bucks to get the game all over again w this mediocre rougelike gamemode.
    santa monica gave away a free dlc to players of valhalla and its just so nice to know that this studio actually gives a shit to give their fanbase something, even ghost of tsushimas directors cut that was 25 dollars had a whole story to it with outfits, a new island to explore, new techniques for jin etc.. all worth it btw
    game is a cashgrab where naughtydog gets away w spitting on its fanbase and the fanbase is swallowing that spit because its nAuGhTy dOg

    • @Centrifewgi
      @Centrifewgi  8 месяцев назад

      First of all, if you already own the game, it's $10-$15 to upgrade it, depending on where you live, as stated in the video. Secondly, yes, other rogue likes have done it better, but they are also the focal point of those games you mentioned, not a side game mode. Santa Monica is the odd one out and I definitely agree that it would have been way better to get all this stuff free, but companies need to make money and $15 for the 20 hours I've gotten out of their excellent combat was worth it. It's fine if it isn't for everyone.

      okay, companies have to make money. they can start by not scamming people?? and making actual content that is worth it and not having more fucking remastereds than actual original ip’s?? second of all, supporting a company is so wild to me

      @Centrifewgi  8 месяцев назад

      @addictedtoyoutube9197 I think you make some valid points. But, if you own the physical version, the upgrade is still $10 unless you have a digital only console. The PS5 will recognize the disc and let you upgrade editions.
