I was blown away at the beginning where you showed your forensic skills in finding Karrs hideout. I'm also really grateful to you for continuing to put out episodes so regularly. I think you've produced more Knight Rider content than the original TV show did - and some of your uploads are longer than the TV episodes. Thank you.
Totally loved the forensic search for Karr's hideout as well! Really exceptional job with this content! So glad people like you are doing such an amazing job at keeping our childhood memories alive and well ;) Keep up the good work! Greetings from Portugal!
Actually the first hideout place was mentioned already somewhere on the net. Can´t remember where I read it, but I knew it before. Maybe from Facebook.
The tower you mention at 7:40 is one of the cranes for loading containers onto ships at Terminal Island across the main channel of the harbor. Love the video! -Brian S.
Thanks for keep the history of Knight Rider alive and adding to it. I have been a fan of the since it first started back in the '80's and your channel the only part of the series was Team Knight Rider.
The Artemus Street location is the same where Street Hawk jumps out of the brick building (Headquarters) with the fake, opening MAXIE sign. He then accelerates by the white building with the text "help" written on it. You can see the brick building at the end of the street.
At 25:47 the Dancing Waters. This was the Waters Club. A local venue for bands. My old band played here several times. They had a lifting drum riser with a waterfall behind it. A lot of 80’s rock bands played there.
And interesting the footage of KARR jumping off the cliff was the same footage used in the movie The Car when it went off the cliff. The Car, and KARR. Funny that!
The Rucket's Hardware Store was 222 E 5th St, Lost Angeles. I was pretty sure it was the same place from the address I found, but the building on the left with the bow windows that stick out on the left confirmed it. It's still there, but the area has changed a lot in 50 years. Oh, and the Loans sign saying 213 also confirmed it. Edit: doing some more looking around at that building on the left, with the bow windows. I looked at it from the front and was like "wait, is that what I think it is?". It's the firehouse that was used for the interiors for the Ghostbusters firehouse. Which was also Egg Shen's hideout in Big Trouble In Little China. Sometimes it's good to be a filming locations nerd.
The name of the hardware store was Entz & Rucker. I found it in a search, there is an eBay ad for a catalog from their store in 1931. And yes, the location of the GB firehouse interiors on the left.
Great video! 1982 it was still very common to 70's cars on regular basis, that Vette wasn't out of place so that could very well be a 1982 establishing shot.
I used to live in San Pedro I’ll have to check these spots out next time I go back and visit and some spots I didn’t realize were filming locations for knight rider
Man, it's awsome. You look at all the details...i'm 40 years old and i see night rider in Portugal when i'm 6,7 y.old. i love the car and it's nostalgic to me. Love your channel. Keep continuing your work. Cheers
4:40 The tall building with the bay window on the left is Fire Station No. 23 in Los Angeles at 5th street. Still there but in bad shape. Sourced by that mural that says 'Union Stage Depot'
That is definitely the same location, the entire south side of the street are all newer buildings now. And the start of the construction site behind the sedan driving is now the LAPD Central community police station. It opened in 1977, so that puts this footage from around 1975-1976.
The city hall building was also used in the tv show Emergency and it was in the Rockford Files as well. Which makes sense since all of them were Universal Studios shows. It was also used for the police station in the show Starsky & Hutch. I'm gonna say that the street where you can see the Vincent Thomas Bridge in the background is either Harbor Blvd. or Miner Street. But if pressed I would have to go with Harbor Blvd. because of how close the bridge is in the clip. I've been all over Long Beach, San Pedro and the L.A. Harbor area. My Late Dad was a proud member of Pile Driver's Local 2375 in Wilmington, CA. He worked the harbor area for 30 years. R.I.P Mom and Dad. I miss you both more everyday.
Stock footage at 5:22 is taken from around the intersection of S Los Angeles St and E 5th Street, looking south east. The building mid-frame is still there on the corner of Wall St/E 5th St.
Wow I almost didn't recognize that street, and I'm very familiar with that area! That is definitely the same location, but the entire south side of the street are newer buildings now. And the start of the construction site behind the sedan driving is now the LAPD Central community police station. It opened in 1977, so that puts this footage from around 1975-1976.
I paused this video at 7:45 where you show the shot of KITT leaving the back alley. I didn’t want any spoilers. It took me about 15 mins., but I found the location in Google Earth, using only the landmarks visible in the shot.
This is nuts! I was watching the episode this week and wanted to find this location and didn’t think you’d found it - well done and perfect timing. I want to go have a look.
Joe, you are a genius, I am very impressed by your dedication and love for the Knight Rider, people like you have kept the Knight Rider alive, Good work.
27:35 This location may very well be the current location of the State Of Ca Dept Of Fish & Game at 229 W 22nd St. If you look in the far left background is a large single storey pitched roof building which can be see the gable end of the building if you go left to Signal Street at number 2221 which is the Berth 58 building... To the right of the building (KARR's hide out) is Miner Street (Miner street has been moved further to the west but the remains of the street can be seen as a back alley on a property occupied by SSA Marine...
Thankyou for this fascinating video on KARR's secret hideout this is brilliant,I always wondered if KARR had a secret place where he could lurk until he wanted to pounce on poor unsuspecting car drivers.
Great episode, thank you. I'm now wondering how many of these roads I went on back in 2017 when I was around that area getting lost a bit in the car with the family lol and didn't even know it was filmed there.
I found KARR's second hideout - it is further down the alley after evading the Police. Behind Distrito Coffee and Compagnon wine bistro that are on W 7th Street.
Awesome video Joe and AJ!! Great to see these videos locations after all these years!! Just before KARR explodes, stock footage is used from the movie 'The Car - 1977'.
The building at 7:52 is San Pedro City Hall Building in between 6th and 7th street on S Harbor Blvd. The alley looks like S Center Street next to the Happy Diner. There is a build that blocks the view of the city hall from that alley now.
Seeeeee....this is why I watch y'all! Bro you be goin hard ( doing a great job) finding these locations. You and Adam the woo should do a location video one day for Knight Rider! That would be the most detailed an awesome location video experience I think the internet has ever seen and I do not mean that as an exaggeration.

Great job Didnt everywhere look better back then. I watch the channel 80's life and he does a lot of movie locations then and now. Again places look much better back then. And they call it progress
The back lot shot at 31:43 was used for so many things. About where the park bench is, is the spot the telephone booth was in the very first twilight zone with earl holliman. That "drug store" at the corner had an alley on the left side and earl talked to a maniquin in a truck and then ran across the street to the phone booth. The drug store was also in many leave it to beavers like when he lost his bike at that store. Back then if you walked down that street (same street marty got up to 88mph on, you would round a corner to the right and be on beavers house and a couple houses down, the ghost & mr. chicken house and a couple more houses down was the munsters house.
I'm from UK, but every time we go racing in the States, we always go Drinking at Godmothers Saloon. I recognized that 1st Alley way instantly. I was hoping you hadn't found that one.
41:10 is on Universal grounds. Just in front of the Stage 14 and the newer parking deck between River Road and James Stwart Ave. Also the building with the company sign .....Owsen where KITT heads towards the police car a few minutes earlier (you didn´t mention in your video) is there. In the back you can see the parking deck at River Road.
@@KnightRiderHistoriansOfficial the one you pointed out with the two vents on top. If looking from the side say where a door would be you would only see the one vent. Would make total sense since you could get a car there to film.
The ones here? 23:46 That was my first thought but, watching this on a large monitor I decided against due to the colour. Note: that second hideout scene shows a building (and vehicle) reflected in KARR's bodywork
Love the Knight Rider Historians channel but one question, if you could choose an extension issue for the fanhome KITT build would you choose parts to display the car as KITT or KARR or would you choose the super pursuit mode look 👍
No i want to say that @32:04 is actually Beacon Street because of its row of palm trees. Others guessed Harbor or Miner, which are definitely good guesses as well. In this case, video would probably help.
Is the museum building in the knight rider adventure the same as the one perifractic found ? The rolling doors look similar. Not really sure where the building he identified in his RUclips video was located other than it is located in California and is some sort of welding / trade school now.
Great episode and awesome locations, cool find that KARR's first hideout 🙂👍 I wonder if the up going road at the end of KITT and KARR chase was maybe the same as in Forget Me Not, where the girl jumped out from the Cadillac Seville?
Hi I really really love these filming locations videos ro what's like then and now ... I was watching a video with the 86 film the wraith locations that was intreasting found some car parts
Knight Rider Historians Official- Is it just me, or, is that a Comtron truck in the background around 40:23?... I think so, but, I don't remember. I also remember Comtron being referenced in other episodes of 'Knight Rider', as well via the semi-trucks/trailers/etc., but, I can't remember what they are, for the life of me.
It's San Pee-dro, not San Pay-dro! Tony and Red's hideout is the east canal, over by Warehouse One. I've shot cars over there before, recognize that warehouse! Also, the British Car place originally was a Ford Dealership! It's such a neat building. I wonder if Karr's second hideout is closer to where the Iowa is now docked, likey off Pacific as well
At @32:05 that specific street with the Vincent Thomas bridge in the background is actually down the street from the San Pedro City Hall. I believe the street name is specifically S.Becon St and a notable landmark on the street would be the San Pedro United States Post Office and if I'm not mistaken the address is 808 S.Beacon St. I could be wrong about the address but if you Google San Pedro post office you'd get the correct address and if you did the street view and go further down from the post office you'd find the location with the Vincent Thomas bridge in the background. You'll see the row of palm trees and the shipping containers across the port off of the water. The benches are still there today but the benches are different then they were in your screen shot. I hope this is helpful.
In the first part those buildings look like they could have been the buildings that stored the film on the backlot of Universal Studios. I worked at Universal during this time period in Security as my day job as a young actor so I was on the backlot 5 days a week. The Knight Rider cars were there so they did a lot of filming on the backl😂ot. I used to drive a car around the lot and occasionally work in certain buildings and sound stages. I had keys to a lot of stuff and even worked as the communications operator sometimes for security so I knew the backlot very well. It didn't pay the best but it was probably one of the most fun jobs I ever had

Yes, and that crane is now moved but you can see similar ones down to the right along the opposite shore.

30:59 is the Chicken Ranch on Universal, KITT is driving on the Steven Spielberg Drive heading Melinda Gordon´s House under Elm Street
@21:11 I believe that's at Mesa and 14th street heading East. That building on the right past the stop sign is 383 W. 14th St in San Pedro.
Nice job! That's definitely it!
I bet they filmed there because they liked that damaged Beetle :P
Confirmed. I just found it, too, then saw your comment. Great job!

It's San Pee-dro, not San Pay-dro! Tony and Red's hideout is the east canal, over by Warehouse One. I've shot cars over there before, recognize that warehouse! Also, the British Car place originally was a Ford Dealership! It's such a neat building. I wonder if Karr's second hideout is closer to where the Iowa is now docked, likey off Pacific as well
They used the Spanish pronunciation here, you could justify both for different reasons.
24:55 KARRs4Kids.......
That warehouse hide out if look in background on right you see the big white tank for fuel / oil whichever that maybe help narrow down the serch
I hope this is helpful.
on the episode when KARR fell off the cliff, it looked like a old 1957 Chevy on the cut when KARR was falling on the scene
Just want to say Hi !
Sometimes history of all things do become emotional and sometimes it’s just the beginning of the process of the story.
Happy Birthday!
