Keep your head up brother. Jeep life for sure. Keep your Jeep. You can buy a new Jeep, but the memories cannot be replaced. One doesn't own a Jeep, they are family. You fix her and love her. You got this bro! 👍👍
Oh wow, bummer, Jake. Very sorry to hear this news, hang in there! Also don’t worry about Annie too much, there’s really nothing wrong with her moving back and forth between Jade and stick housing. Dogs are super resilient that way and I’d venture to say, so long as she’s with you she’ll be fine. Still while a vet-check wouldn’t hurt don’t be surprised if her exam comes back good. She certainly doesn’t appear lethargic (one symptom of internal issues), based on her play-drive with the other dogs in your last vid. Anyway, dude, keep your spirits up; a whole lotta folk are rootin for ya! :D
Stay optimistic. You were planning on spending a few weeks in each state anyway. Take this time to upgrade Jade, definitely see a veterinarian, and just keep enjoying life. If this trip was perfect then it wouldn't be much fun. Keep pushing yourself and stay humble. Good luck!
Every Jeeper has been through this. Every time we brake something, is an opportunity to upgrade. I blew up my front Dana 30 and upgraded to a Pro Rock 44 and blew up my rear factory D44 and replaced that with a Currie D60. It's about getting those ring and pinion gears as large as possible so big heavy tires don't break them. Hope you get back on the road soon Jake.
Good shirt for this vlog lol. I was going to say "don't get down on Jade, she'll be ok", then you said those amazing words, that you'll never replace her. You are a true Wrangler man, wish I was over there, I'd help you fix her up. Hopefully some of the Wranglers you met there are good with a wrench. Get yourself a dana 44 for the rear, the 35 is known to explode like that. Happened to my buddy Bryan's YJ on the Rubicon one year. Upping to a D44 will stop that from happening. The fuel pump, well that just happens. There's a few places you can possibly get a real good deal on a D44. There's a "pull n save", an "auto wrecking parts llc" and "tear apart". Salvage yards are great to get at least the housing, just make sure it will work with your leaf springs (total width of the axle should be the same as yours, as well as the distance from leaf to leaf).
Glad to see you are committed to Jade! This is just part of the story you are creating. I'm sure when you look back on these moments you will smile knowing you overcame the adversity.
better sooner rather than later, as in 25 states later. I broke down on a 300 mile road trip just past the 165 mark and I had to leave my Jeep in a small town 4 hours from where I live for a week until the part arrived, had to drive back up the following weekend to pick it up. Didn't expect the issue to come back because I already fixed it twice before. But I am the same as you. I'm keeping my Jeep no matter what.
Sorry to hear about the issues with Jade. Older jeeps are a labor of love, unfortunately she may not show that love in return from time to time. I wish your road trip had a smoother start but keep moving forward. head up, you'll get there.
Jake keep your head up just removed that everything you do to Jade gets her closer to being the way you want her in the end would help you if I could but unfortunately can't even help myself right now do to being out of work last 6months due to vision problems good luck Buddy
You are 100% right Jake, stuff like this is bound to happen and you just have to roll with the punches! Keep up the good work man and I hope Annie starts feeling better soon
I feel so bad for you man, I've been waiting for this 50 state to start even though I won't ever meet you since I'm up in Canada, I'm still very excited to see the vlogs!!!!
Sorry to hear thar, my jeep is having problems but i think of it like this, at least now there is going to be brand new parts in it now, and you wont have to worry about it in the future
yeah.. my motto is if you go 4wheel'n you have to be ready to break it. Sorry to hear about your issue. I blew out the rear end in my 87 yj many years ago. I went stock but you might think of a locker. Just hope it's not your transfer case. You did the slip yoke thing right?
Ford 8.8 rear axle is perfect , cheap, parts are everywhere, and instead of 2,500 ft. Lbs torque rating of the Dana 35 it can withstand 6,500 ft. Lbs. and it has the same 5 lug pattern
Same thing happend to my jeep.. It's the Dana 35 curse... The cheapest fastest way is to rebuild stock and keep it off the trails if it's your house.. Otherwise it's a whole chain reaction of money and parts, gears, lockers, driveline you will need to a match the front gears.. . Jeeps and four wheeling is an expensive hobby.. Your jeep is about to become a major alligator.. My advice is getting it repaired with junk yard parts cheap and easy.. Otherwise it's a long term project to get a hard core wheeler fabricated ... Sorry Jake.. That happend to my jeep as well.
Since you're going to 50 states, it might be good to have paper records for Annie, so you can walk in and the vet knows Annie's past in an instant vs waiting to transfer records from one vet to another.
Your always a go happy person. Never lose that. We need more people on earth like you. I love that you always take something negative and turn it into a positive experience. Jeeps are awesome. Glad your keeping Jade. You won't regret it but you would have if you had sold her. And always remember. It's a Jeep thing. OIIIIIIIO
So sorry to hear about Jade. I had an old YJ myself a couple Jeeps ago. I loved that vehicle. I hope you are able to get all the kinks worked out soon and you get back on the road. The silver lining is that it happened when you were close to a friend's instead of out in the middle of nowhere. Good luck!
Get Jade Towed, Make a grapping hook or treble on a fishing pole for the drone, made a sheet trampline to catch it when it falls, Come on WRANGLER Utah, help Jake out!!
fuel pump should be a cheap easy fix (at least it was for my ranger) and if your front wheel drive still works then it might be your transfer case, did you check to see if the rear drive shaft was spinning at all? one of the yokes may have broke
junkyard axle and keep going. you could do the fuel pump on the side of the road. I'm sure there are some local wranglers that would help. why not document the whole process.
Luckily you are in Utah which is great for grabbing new parts. I just swapped an ford 8.8 into my YJ and it's very simple you should be on the road in no time.
Time for a dana 60 and some 4.10 gears sounds like...and maybe an ox locker...or two..... more like an lsd ford 8.8 or dana 44, but you'll get rear disc brakes with the 8.8. Don't dump money into the dana 35. My .02 cents. Either way hope you get jade back on the road man, keep it up!
New subbie here all the way from the Philippines.. Just found out your channel through tiny home. I'm doing a marathon today watching all your videos. keep it up and god bless you 😊😁
Dogs have a weird time adapting to new bathroom situations. My dog Indy (A shepherd border collie cross) won't make any movements for 2 days when we go camping and then on the third day it's like a bad bukakee video (sorry about the visual) She'll adapt.
Just my 2 cents. A Ford Explorer 8.8 rear axle would be a great upgrade for your YJ. Same track width, same wheel pattern, much stronger, disk brakes, and very cheap in junkyards! Since you do mostly highway I wouldn't go full locker so just toss a trutrac locker in and your set.
Optimism!!! Fuel pump could have shot craps in -10 weather 100 miles from help. If the rear ring and pinion/ rear diff let go with mild off-road then it's best that it did it now and not like previously said -10 and 100 miles. Fuel pump is on top of the tank. Drop the tank and order A GOOD PUMP!! Check Quadrtech of 4 wheel parts. $200 ish. Rear end, call dynatrac and tell them what happened and what your doing. They may help you out. The drone.... well I'm afraid of heights so your on your own with that one. Lol. Good luck Jake.
keep Jade !!! I'm having alot of issues with my Audi but a love for ur vehicle is unconditional no matter how bad it breaks. best of luck to you Jake take care buddy and happy taco Tuesday
I've always tried to accept that everything happens for a reason. Better to get these problems out of the way early on in the trip rather than once you're in a place where you might not have accommodations or close friends nearby. Of course, I'm sure there are plenty of Wranglers who would open their homes to you if you were in a bind. Hope all goes well and Jade is up and running in short order. Bionic Jade.
I had a Cadillac I just loved, put over 165k on a 89 Caddy, not the best car GM ever made.. but it was solid for me. It was very painful and still, to this day, 15 years later, I still wish I had that car. That being said, the best thing to do was to get rid of it and get something newer, it was nickle and diming me to death.. Its time for a Jade 2.0.
Jake, be thankful you have a place to stay with someone that you know. It could be a lot worse. Also... it's only Monday bro. :( But tacos are great ANY day. #JeepLife
Mornin' Jake! Man... that's a bit of a setback... but... this road trip is going to take years, so being held back a few more weeks -- not really an issue. Right?! You're a pretty positive guy, it'll be okay. Oh, and thanks for saying Tuesday! It is Tuesday in Australia. ;-)
I couldn't help but notice the shirt you were wearing. It kinda says it all. JEEP. MONEY. PARTS. REPEAT. You'll work it out buddy. That's what us Jeep guys do! Plus you're in wicked awesome 4x4 country there in Utah. There are a ton of off road shops in that state! Now we just have to get those guys from 4WheelParts to hook you up with some G2 front and rear assemblies!! Hey 4WheelParts! Are you guys listening?! Not sure how you do that... @4WheelParts or +4WheelParts or something like that.
working on a vehicle you love is the best. new vehicles are like 400-600$ a month for 5-7 years. if you spent that much on repairs and upgrades your jeep would be mega.
Keep your head up brother. Jeep life for sure. Keep your Jeep. You can buy a new Jeep, but the memories cannot be replaced.
One doesn't own a Jeep, they are family. You fix her and love her.
You got this bro! 👍👍
Thanks for telling us. Thanks for staying positive and looking at the bright side.
Thinking of you Jake. Sorry for your rough patch, stay positive buddy!
Oh wow, bummer, Jake. Very sorry to hear this news, hang in there! Also don’t worry about Annie too much, there’s really nothing wrong with her moving back and forth between Jade and stick housing. Keep your head up and keep your heart strong, Jake. Sending lots of good thoughts and prayers your way from Southern Oregon. Keep Jeepin'!
Your dedication to Jade is commendable Jake. Keep your head up, no matter what happens just remember it can and will always get better
Your optimism and positivity blows my mind. Hang in there, man.
Hey Jake it's Adam, I met you at the meetup, I have the black wrangler. If there's anything you need let me know! I'm happy to help!
thanks fir the vids man. My dad is giving his '97 TJ this thanksgiving! im getting a lot from seeing how youve prepped yours. thanks!
Stay optimistic. You were planning on spending a few weeks in each state anyway. Take this time to upgrade Jade, definitely see a veterinarian, and just keep enjoying life. If this trip was perfect then it wouldn't be much fun. Keep pushing yourself and stay humble. Good luck!

Hi Jake! I've been saying prayers for you.. Jade.. Annie.. and the drone. So good to hear your positivity! :-D
best of luck to you jake.. hope all goes well with the rest of your trip.
Glad to see you are committed to Jade! This is just part of the story you are creating. I'm sure when you look back on these moments you will smile knowing you overcame the adversity.
Anyone can buy a new car it takes a real man to keep an old one running! hope all works out for you jake !
AdventureVibes Or get a Toyota. 😂

Dang man the most positivity award right here man you rule!! Been watching trying to get up to date!
Hang in there & keep your eye on the prize.
I admire your dedication & positive spirit!
Sorry to hear thar, my jeep is having problems but i think of it like this, at least now there is going to be brand new parts in it now, and you wont have to worry about it in the future
Annie might have a UTI. Sorry about the jeep and drone. When it rains it pours. I'm sure it all will work out well for you. ~Smile!
Hang in there. Sounds like a lot going on but you always find a way.
yeah.. my motto is if you go 4wheel'n you have to be ready to break it. Sorry to hear about your issue. I blew out the rear end in my 87 yj many years ago. I went stock but you might think of a locker. Just hope it's not your transfer case. You did the slip yoke thing right?
when it rains .. Hope everything works out for you because i look forward to seeing your vlogs.
Hang in there Jake, you inspired me that you can do anything in life and overcome anything. You got this brother.
Ford 8.8 rear axle is perfect , cheap, parts are everywhere, and instead of 2,500 ft. Lbs torque rating of the Dana 35 it can withstand 6,500 ft. Lbs. and it has the same 5 lug pattern
TREVOR DAVIS Yup! Grab one out of an explorer and you get disc brakes too.
Awwww Praying it all works out.

Sometimes when sh!t goes South, it all seems to go at once. Good luck with Annie, Jade & the drone!
Great attitude , " keep on truckin'",, glad your thinking of Annie
Since you're going to 50 states, it might be good to have paper records for Annie, so you can walk in and the vet knows Annie's past in an instant vs waiting to transfer records from one vet to another.
Hope all is well with Jade and glad you're safe😀
How many upgrades until you realize it might just be time to get a new Jeep. I'm sorry Jake I feel for you
Your always a go happy person. Never lose that. We need more people on earth like you. I love that you always take something negative and turn it into a positive experience. Jeeps are awesome. Glad your keeping Jade. You won't regret it but you would have if you had sold her. And always remember. It's a Jeep thing.
OIIIIIIIO
best of luck my friend!!! it just makes the journey more interesting I guess :)
Still wish she got the coil over setup. Really sweet of you to be so committed to Jade.
Dank how can you like a blog when I feel really sad for you, but with your positive attitude you will come back on top
it'd be nice to see jeep sponsor or donate parts to your cause
He should definitely reach out to jeep
So sorry to hear about Jade. I had an old YJ myself a couple Jeeps ago. I loved that vehicle. I hope you are able to get all the kinks worked out soon and you get back on the road. The silver lining is that it happened when you were close to a friend's instead of out in the middle of nowhere. Good luck!
Things can only get better from here, positive vibes!
Sorry man, when it rains it pours! Chin up it will all work out! Stay positive brother!
Get Jade Towed, Make a grapping hook or treble on a fishing pole for the drone, made a sheet trampline to catch it when it falls, Come on WRANGLER Utah, help Jake out!!
Drone is here...With me and longboard...They said to tell you Hi!
So sorry bro. Hang in there. You are nothing if not resourceful! So much still to look forward to!
It happens. its a jeep thing. at least when parts break you get shiny new ones that will last a bit longer
its all part of the journey
J-money P 💯
@iamjake I don't think you can't upgrade just your rear gears, you will need to do both front & rear gears to have matching gears
hang in there Jake! you're an adventurer, no way this will hold you back!
Every great Jeep is born with broken parts!
Sorry to hear this 🙁
fuel pump should be a cheap easy fix (at least it was for my ranger) and if your front wheel drive still works then it might be your transfer case, did you check to see if the rear drive shaft was spinning at all? one of the yokes may have broke
sorry to hear it man. stay safe and motivated
junkyard axle and keep going. you could do the fuel pump on the side of the road. I'm sure there are some local wranglers that would help. why not document the whole process.
Ups and downs man, riding the waves of life. Bright side...you're not sitting in a cubicle 50 hours a week!
Amen!
Damn Jake that sucks dude i'm sorry hopefully something will get figured out soon.
Luckily you are in Utah which is great for grabbing new parts. I just swapped an ford 8.8 into my YJ and it's very simple you should be on the road in no time.
Dude that sucks, my Jeeps fuel pump went out last week too. Love the vids though man! Keep it up!
best of luck Jake! way to keep that head up
Can't believe I was literally taking a poop break
Time for a dana 60 and some 4.10 gears sounds like...and maybe an ox locker...or two..... more like an lsd ford 8.8 or dana 44, but you'll get rear disc brakes with the 8.8. Don't dump money into the dana 35. My .02 cents. Either way hope you get jade back on the road man, keep it up!
Jake what is the name brand for your wheels? I know you had a video that you painted them etc, but I can't find it?
Jeep should sponsor you with a new JK
New subbie here all the way from the Philippines.. Just found out your channel through tiny home. I'm doing a marathon today watching all your videos. keep it up and god bless you 😊😁
Jake. Jade is old but remember takes real man keep old one running
How about a small tow behind camper.
Thanks for the update!
I agree with your opinion on liking tacos too.
Dogs have a weird time adapting to new bathroom situations. My dog Indy (A shepherd border collie cross) won't make any movements for 2 days when we go camping and then on the third day it's like a bad bukakee video (sorry about the visual) She'll adapt.
*This is unfortunate that jade took a dump on you, but now you'll get new parts and make here even better! Keep up the great work Jake!!*

So sorry dude! That sucks!
Bigger wheels and tires cause extra strain in running gear parts.
keep Jade !!! I'm having alot of issues with my Audi but a love for ur vehicle is unconditional no matter how bad it breaks. best of luck to you Jake take care buddy and happy taco Tuesday

I don't know if you are still reading these old vlogs, but my drone did this and you have to calibrate the drone regularly and the compass
I had a Cadillac I just loved, put over 165k on a 89 Caddy, not the best car GM ever made.. but it was solid for me. Anyone can buy a new Truck but it takes a real man to keep the old ones Running 👌
hate to see you down, but it'll work itself out..try and keep your chin up..take care.
Jake, be thankful you have a place to stay with someone that you know. It could be a lot worse. Also... it's only Monday bro. :( But tacos are great ANY day. #JeepLife
Jake ur in Utah, meet up with Shonduras
these things happen dude! Definitely go for a Ford 8.8 in the rear and keep jade! Way too much work to turn back now! Keep on keepin on
I really hope you don't need to get a new jeep. but a new one would be awesome.
Mornin' Jake!
Man... that's a bit of a setback... but... this road trip is going to take years, so being held back a few more weeks -- not really an issue. Right?! You're a pretty positive guy, it'll be okay. Oh, and thanks for saying Tuesday! It is Tuesday in Australia.

keep Jade !! Down with OnStar equipped vehicles . older rides need maintenance but no government official is turning off your ride
I couldn't help but notice the shirt you were wearing. It kinda says it all. JEEP. MONEY. PARTS. REPEAT. You'll work it out buddy. That's what us Jeep guys do! my goodness. this poor jeep.
working on a vehicle you love is the best. new vehicles are like 400-600$ a month for 5-7 years. if you spent that much on repairs and upgrades your jeep would be mega.
I would fix the heater before leaving again.
jeep is down.. and the drone is down.. ? man. what a start to the trip.
My dads mini broke down the same day. I loved the mini, he loved it, but we had tacos and it was all better.
He is going to get a new car
Keep pushing brother.
Damn man stay strong man!!
It's Tuesday here! 👊 Actually it's almost Wednesday 😄 sorry you're having so many issues. It never rains it pours hey!
What year is Jade again? I know you said it in one of your videos but I forgot.
So I guess the shirt I got you says it all.
still the stock Dana35 rear?
