  • How we control the golf club in its entirety will strongly influence our swing direction, strike, repeatability, effort levels, distance, launch... You get the point! If our intention is to control the golf club from the club head (whilst excluding the handle) as you'll find out in this video - this can have a huge effect on the entire golf swing.

    I was stuck in the low 80’s for years. Started working through this a few months ago, and really started “getting it” two weeks ago when I started bringing my hands low and to the left at/through impact. Have several rounds in the mid 70’s because of these videos over the past two weeks. Fantastic!
    In your driver release video, you have a segment where you are talking about maintaining the relationship between a tennis ball on your shoulder, and the tennis balls on the club. I totally missed it the first few times I watched the video.
    Very, very helpful with the driver when I “got it”.
    Could you do a similar video showing the relationship between a tennis ball on the shoulder and the tennis balls on the club specific to irons?
    Thanks for providing one of the of the most significant light bulb moments in my 30ish 12:26 years as a golfer.

    Thanks for the tutorial Marcus it’s been great for me. I had seen you use this with one of your students but it didn’t really click with me. Todays explanation has cleared it up for me, I’ve cut up my tennis balls and have been feeling the movement and hitting indoor balls for an hour now and I totally get it.
    I’m no longer thinking too much about the club head.
    Thanks, I live in Devon and if I get chance I would love to get a lesson so that you could tailor your instruction to my needs.

    Thanks again.

    Brilliant! Gonna try and find lesson video! Have you ever seen studied 3D hand path? I coached for years but never really played like most pros lost interest motivation etc!
    Just another way of putting attention and awareness into something other than the club head!!
    No club just palms together and with short Actions imagine the hands through impact move upwards and left?
    So from face on the hand path is moving upwards and from down the line hands are moving left at and post impact!!
    This totally transformed my feelings and the ball flight was nothing like what I imagined with feelings!!
    The club head has to have a better path in order for hands to be moving upwards and left through impact and beyond!!
    Try it let me know what you think?

    Ive been watching numerous golf instruction on YT now roughly 16 months. Robinson, Finch, Meand My Golf, Lackey and Crossfield. Since 2020 restarting the game, at age 57, ive gone from shooting upper 80's or above, to a consistant 80-81, with about 7 rounds in the 70's. Some of the big changes ive made has been changing shafts for lower weight, bigger grips, and ACTUALLY TRYING TO APPLY SOME OF THESE VIDEO LESSONS.
    Such a differnt world since I first fell in love with golf in 1987.
    I must say, after watching your videos, my ball striking and body movement has improved more than i thought. Your course of instruction is difficult at best, most folks cant walk and chew gum at the same time, let alone, have the patience and dedication needed to get results, especially when it comes to constantly thinking too much INTO the swing. Its like writing music to me,....if your never satisfied or confident with an end result, you will constantly write and rewrite in a vicious circle, without ever reaching a conclusion. Visualize, set-up, swing. With CONFIDENCE.
    As a former military instructor, I also appreciate your presentation of the lesson. Your oratory articulation, confidence-building motivation, and usage of unfamiliar training aids for more training options for different learning levels, is TOP NOTCH.
    So, at age 59, in a span of about 3 months viewing some of your videos ive gone from a 15 to an 8 HCP.
    Hoping to live a dream this year and play in the WORLD AMATUER TOURNAMENT. Just for fun really, but deep down, Id like to be competitive enough to possibly win in my division. Or at least place.

    This is not bashing swing coaches or people trying to help golfers in general. It needs to be said, getting into proper positions in a golf swing can be important... that being said as a pro I can purposely play a full 18 making my swing ugly as possible playing purposeful slices and Dropkick draws and still comfortably shoot under par just with my hands and feel around the green. Scoring is so much more then clinical swings it’s touch, feel, imagination, and the ability to get the ball in the hole that really makes a good golfer. Never forget this.

    • @freshprinceofsolair
      @freshprinceofsolair Год назад +3

      so as a pro it is possible to be playing "purposeful" slices and dropkick draws.. key word is purposeful. most amateurs don't know what they're doing therefore lacking purpose. only when you know the destination back to front u can choose different routes.

    • @RMgolf
      @RMgolf Год назад +1

      @@freshprinceofsolair what I’m trying to convey is touch and feel around the greens and the ability to putt will make you a lower handicap, not proper position in the full golf swing. Touch and feel around the greens is majority of the strokes in a round of golf and should be the focus to shave strokes off a handicap.

    This one hurt my head ! I started watching Zen videos cos I liked the thought of clearing the mind of positions and swing planes etc and just freeing the swing up but seems to be alot more of that creeping into it now.
    I get it, it's not one size fits all and one person might need something explained to them differently than the next person to get them moving properly and fine tune things .
    Just wondering how you introduce this drill into a golf swing without consciously thinking of where the handle, the shaft, and the clubhead are thru the swing ? Older videos made it seem like these positions just happened after you got people moving their bodies in the correct order. Or is this the kind of thing that would go on in all lessons but we've just not been seeing it as you're having to edit hours of coaching and condense into 30 minute videos ?
    Not a criticism, just interested. I'll be giving the ideas in this video a try as it's something thats crept into my swing lately. I can actually feel the clubhead overtaking the hands and know it's a pull draw before I look up.
    Maybe next weeks video of the lesson will explain more. 🤷👍🏻

      Take a headache tablet for your poor little head
      ..it hurt your head coz it’s a subtle point. If you close the face by rotating the club like Marcus showed then you won’t need to flip the club and you will never hit another fat shot, even in winter playing off mud lies. Surely a little pain in the head is worth no more fat shots, it even works out of bunkers because it’s easier to control the low point.

    The Main Swing Difference Between LOW and HIGH Handicap Golfers i see is that most golfers never get to their left side and only good ballstrikers ie very few! use their left side.Yes i know Zen bangs on about how to use the lower body/footwork/ground pressure which is great and gets you to your left side but good ballstrikers use their unnatural left side/left chest/left shoulder/left arm/left hand on the handle,they fling the frisbee!

      Everything effects everything, Graham, I hear what you're saying. It can be a chicken and egg thing - does working with using the tool correctly then bring about efficient use of the left side? Or does efficient use of the left side then allow us to use the tool more optimally? No correct answer really! Flinging the frisbee is a great analogy! But can oftentimes fall short if the individual doesn't have a sense for what that feels like, especially in a golfing context. Appreciate your thoughts and comment on this one, great stuff.
