For monitoring at home? Of course you can get headphones...I have the Sennheiser HD 600's and love them (if you like open back...I do so that I avoid that closed off feeling), as far as studio monitors, I have the KRK Rokit 5's....sometimes I wish I had the 8" to get more volume but I really don't need it...the 5" are good my space. As far as FRFR's I haven't tried any of the name brands. I’m sorry it looked like that. I originally did an A/B test between the IR and the cab. But I cut that scene from the video. You are correct, an IR replaces the cab!

I think one of my favorite delay types for ambient is a terra echo type from boss (I use a dd-500). I'm hoping Line 6 adds this at some point.

I don't play that genre, but I know they generally like clean tones with tight compression 4:1 Ratio, with quick attack and quick release. Try that!
