    2021 here: The 416 A5 is now well improved. VFC listened to most of the critiques. I have this gun for a day now and after a firm inspection, only the flimsy charging handle remains (and the easy to scratch finish, but I even think this is on purpose for "patina"). No barrel wobble, no bolt lock issues with green gas.

      @@yosyp5905 Not so fast. My VFC broke within 7 days. Bolt lock was not consistent (which is magazine dependent) and the internal malfunction created a very expensive paperweight.

    MWS is easy to repair because it has many parts from other companies.
    I have a VFC product, but it's too hard to fix. It is difficult to find the parts themselves.

    From the experience, I can say that the recoil on VFC is stronger than on practically any .22LR carbines I've shot.
    It's more of a gradual push than a quick tap like on the Live Ammunition, but it's definitely something you can feel and for me, it's a big plus of the replica.

    So, after watching both your reviews and shooting comparisons myself and two team mates went out and picked up 3 of the A5's. out the box the were solid, bolt is locking back every time, even after a couple hundred rounds. the wobble in the outer barrel was not present on any of the 3 either. it seems we either got good ones or VFC has corrected the the issues! and my god do those mags take a lot of gas! thanks Mate!!

      That’s great to hear. It looks like those teething problems have been ironed out. Although I have heard whispers of bolt lock failure as recent as last month. So may be an ongoing QC thing.
      If my A5 didn’t have those problems it would have been a badass rifle.

      @@theracer1117 To be honest, they really aren’t better at all.
      Take their V2 M4. Narrow feedlips which develops a crack and can cause double feeds. Which can also break their plastic hop up chamber.
      Or take their slanted bolt carrier which causes uneven wear on the recoil buffer. Overtime it mushrooms the engaging edge where it can jam within the buffer tube.
      And that’s something present on all of them. Before one can even begin to address their QC issues.

    Took my MWS out for a skirmish today for the first time.
    I was left absolutely speechless! My top takeaway is just that exceptional Cerakote finish. Dragged through bushes. Rocks, not a scratch...
    *NOTHING* even comes close. This quality what is TM’s first GBBR!
    TM is going to ruin the GBBR market, I can't imagine what an AK would be like.
    Unfortunately VFC is still playing catchup with their stuff right now. While they've got the externals game sorted, their internals appear to be severely lacking (even though it's steel where it needs ot be). even after all these years making GBBR's you're paying a pretty penny for a nice metal shell it seems for most of their stuff.

      @@BadaBingPictures Honestly, It's just such a damn shame, seriously, *WHO* gave them the Umarex license? Every single pistol/rifle/smg they have made has been so subpar it hurts.
      what's the worst is that it seems the way they are constructed they are really trying engineer the best they can.
      From a glance the internals dont look like they are anything out of the ordinary, but still, they have been churning out overpriced underperforming messes of the most sought after weapon manufacturer both real steel and airsoft for the past going on 6+ years

    Hey there Bada. First of all, thanks for all your great testing and comparison vids. You really take the replica's apart to show pro's, cons and other matters to watch out for. I've really learned a lot from them, super!! Especially this one about two brands and models which already had caught my attention. The vid made the choice even harder 🙂 🙂. At the end I choose the VFC/Umarex HK416. I have no experience with the 2 previous releases of this replica. But I can however confirm that those issues: wobble in barrel & but stock, no lock on empty, that dust cover 'thingy' are gone in this GEN 3. "If' there are other design flaws, issues, or such, which need checking, I can. If that helps you. Anyway, keep up your damn good work mate. Cheers, from across ' The Channel" (Holland).

    • @BadaBingPictures
      @BadaBingPictures  6 лет назад +2

      Ah, my Lord. Tis an honour having you as my audience!
      For a first GBBR you’ll want something that’s the easy to use but still give you a reliable platform to learn the craft.
      I cut my teeth on the WE G39C (G36), and those were easy to use, reliable, gas efficient and cheap. In many ways it’s the perfect platform to dip your toes into because if it turns out GBBR’s aren’t your thing, you’ve only spent a few hundred on the base gun and a couple of mags.
      Sure you could set your sights higher on a far more luxurious choice, but as I said if you’re not feeling it....
      Don’t forget that it also depends which Kingdom you hail from. If you live in a place which has frigidly low temps, this would determine the performance you’d get out of your new blaster.
      In that scenario you would require a platform which can run comfortably on higher pressure gas like CO2. ( Most GHK GBBR’s, if not all, are built to use CO2 )
      These factors you must take into account. I could just run off a list of units that I think would do the job, but it’s a little more complicated. As a worldwide player base, it’s entirely down to the individual requirements. Hope that’s given you something to base your choices on?
      The rig I am wearing is the LBT 6094 in Mass Grey.

    Your TM M4 MWS is just gorgeous, can you tell me what are your ACOG and your rails covers?
    And by the way, I personally prefer the m4 from Marui for its performance and reliability. I think realism is really important but only up to a limit, both VFC and Marui did a great job with their very decent markings, paintjob etc but you will never have an airsoft replica made with the same materials, markings, paintjob, and tolerances used to create a real weapon. At one point, you have to give priority to the effectiveness and reliability of the gbbr. That's exactly what marui seems to have done, once again : fine and clever engineering from Japan... In the end, unlike VFC, the TM m4 seems to be very resistant and durable, even if its internals aren't looking as tough as the real steel. It's thought to shoot 6mm plastic bbs, not 5.56 nato rounds hehe and the cerakote finish is the icing on the cake.

    • @BadaBingPictures
      @BadaBingPictures  6 лет назад +1

      Exactomundo! The VFC rifles make sense if one is a collector, but skirmishing is best left to the veterans of Airsoft.

      BadaBingPictures I don’t open it anyway mostly, who cares about the insides, if it feels realistic from outside i would consider buying it. But one time i had a Tippmann HPA M4 in my hands and i was shocked. It felt like a toy and cheaply made at a price over 500€. I could never touch something like this cheap „feeling“ but it isn’t cheap at all. But i wonder exept from the inside, is it made of metal, does the Marui feel sturdy? I couldn’t quite catch that in the review. Thanks for your answer :)

    • @BadaBingPictures
      @BadaBingPictures  6 лет назад +2

      @Just Ipko, the Marui rifle has a metal upper and lower receiver which feels sturdy and well put together. As I mention the tiny wobble on the upper and lower...but seeing as that’s an issue plagued by Real AR-15’s, one could say that’s a realistic feature ;-) Despite this it feels good and it flimsy at all.
      But it is a toy. It focuses on being a reliable Airsoft gun than a 1.1 GBB Replica. Charging the rifle won’t give you the same metallic clacking sound as other GBBR’s.

    Hi there, pondering the Mws mag mod. I've heard lots of conflicting stories. Would you still recommend it? Cheers keep up the stirling work my friend.

    • @BadaBingPictures
      @BadaBingPictures  4 года назад

      Hi,
      The GGM isn't necessary. My magazines were among the first to roll out of the factory back in 2015, so over time TM have improved their performance.
      To put it in context my mags could not take on more than 8 seconds of gas and when the M4 was being fired in rapid succession, sometimes it struggled to maintain its solid performance for the last few shots and fail to lock empty. The GGM helped with those older mags by allowing a higher volume of gas storage.
      Negatively it would make it very easy to overfill the mags and cause unconverted liquid gas to enter the nozzle which results in a nose dive in performance. So you have to be careful how much you charge.
      Recently I tested some mags which were produced in 2016/17ish and found that they accepted more gas than my old mags ever could. It worked so well that the GGM isn't necessary, confirming reports that I've heard from several users. I recommend against it however its still an option if you feel the need.

    • @SuperStarkiller99
      @SuperStarkiller99 6 лет назад +1

      Aust1n46 I don't doubt that, but I mean buying price. Here in the US you can get the ones with the plastic body for like $120 full metal for $200 I think.I don't play airsoft, but I do like to collect them as props and build them up with some badass parts.

    • @xXAust1n46Xx
      @xXAust1n46Xx 6 лет назад

      DeMartini Millionaire Full metal is an airsoft buzzword that means nothing in terms of quality of the replica. If the company is too scared to disclose what metal it’s actually made of, assume the worst and that’s it made of shit brittle zinc pot metal. For $200 you could easily buy a used WE tech and at least have a usable gun.
      For $250 you might even be able to pickup a used kwa lm4 and have a solid gun with no upgrades required, especially just for plinking in the yard. Western arms gbbr’s are dead and a complete waste of money in 2018. There’s better and more cost effective options now.
      In 6 years of owning my kwa lm4 I’ve only NEEDED to replace the nozzle return spring and the magazine release. Everything else I replaced was external or swapping to steel just to have the parts on hand.

    • @SuperStarkiller99
      @SuperStarkiller99 6 лет назад

      Aust1n46 As I said I don't play airsoft lol

    Can HK416A5 vfc use other brand of gas magazine? (such as WE, Marui, GHK) Have you ever try it?

    • @BadaBingPictures
      @BadaBingPictures  5 лет назад +2

      TM and WE, no. The interface between the nozzle and magazine gas seal are worlds apart.
      The GHK magazines, yes. They work in the VFC GBB M4’s/416, HOWEVER, the gas release valve on the GHK mags are a couple of millimetres too long and the striker cannot fully engage them. So it won’t release the necessary amount of gas for the rifle to operate like it’s supposed to.
      You’ve got 2 choices.
      1. File the GHK release valves so that the striker can successfully connect and fire.
      2. File the striker so that it can hit the GHK Magazines. The original VFC magazines will be redundant at this point. So you could only use GHK magazines once this modification has been done. Or you buy a new striker.
      I would create a guide on how to do this but I sold my 416A5 last year.

      The rail system may work but you would need a 20 inch outer barrel for the Marui MWS system.
      And the stock probably won’t fit.

    • @BadaBingPictures
      @BadaBingPictures  5 лет назад

      The Marui version would cost you more to put together that’s for sure. A friend of mine built one (well I should say I built it for him😉), and it’s a great piece of kit.
      With the VFC rifle you would only need those tuning upgrades to raise the bar in terms of accuracy (if it requires it).
      The basic operation of the VFC system is good, so you shouldn’t have to worry about its reliability. In that respect you could give it a shot...it may work out for you. The trigger would be better that’s for sure!

    I'm having issues with this, can somebody tell me what rail this gun has ontop of the upper receiver? They say it's picatinny and yet I bought a picatinny ACOG sight with a QD mount, and it doesn't fit, the levers on the side close half way in, remaining open. Does anybody know anything about this? both products are advertised as 20mm picatinny compatible.

    • @BadaBingPictures
      @BadaBingPictures  5 лет назад +1

      It should be the industry standard 20mm rail. Do you have any other optics that can test on the upper?
      Is your ACOG a replica? It might be the one that is not to the correct specs.
      Try mounting it to the other rails on the rifle and it is likely to be flawed if it cannot lock onto those other surfaces.

    • @razorian100
      @razorian100 5 лет назад

      @@BadaBingPictures Sadly no, I don't have any other optics, I also tried mounting on any other rail same conclusion, it is a replica indeed but functional, with zooming and all adjustable elevation and such. Nope. 30-35rd magazines only. GHK GBBR’s generally have 40rd mags.

      Right, I see!
      Yeah you want to start off with an electric gun first. They’re just much easier to pick up and play with.
      A battery will last you all day and you just have to worry about filling it up with bbs.
      Gas guns are much different and only have a limited amount of fuel. They take a high level of understanding to be able to use them properly, something you don’t want to try and learn when you have people shooting bbs at you.

      There’s not much you can do to make the Marui M4 more realistic, as the internals themselves are nothing like the real steel. You might be able to swap out trigger components, which will deliver a more accurate trigger pull/reset.

      As long as you ask them to display your UKARA No. on the shipping label, it’s exactly the same as ordering anything else online. (That is if you’re buying an Airsoft Gun)
      With regards to customs fees and Parcel Force ransom demands....expect it. Once in a blue moon you could get lucky and an order could fly through and land at your door without fees, but *always* expect to be charged.

    Do you have any tips on loading the mws mags? They seem very stiff to load, got 1 today after watching your reviews and it nearly split my speed loader 😂

    • @BadaBingPictures
      @BadaBingPictures  6 лет назад +1

      Sure. Use the pistol type adapter for your speed loader and depress the bolt lock tab at the rear as you begin to feed the bbs.
      Depressing the bolt lock tab will lower the follower which allows the first couple of bbs to slide in easier. Then it should be around 8 or 9 pumps until it’s full.
      Likewise if you have one of the GHK adapters it helps to place the angle of attack a degree or two downward as you start to fill the bbs.
      The more you do it the easier it’ll be. Also seeing as your mags will be new and the spring may be stiff, best to leave them half full for a day or so to relax the spring.
      Hope this helps.
      Enjoy your TM MWS 👍
