    I have more pain in my elbow when sleeping, so painful that I cannot straighten nor bend my arm. While I am awake I do have some sharp pain in my elbow when picking up something or turning my arm a certain way, but most of my pain is while sleeping. Thank you for sharing this video, now I know how to position my new brace😁

    • @OrthoEvalPal
      @OrthoEvalPal  3 года назад +6

      Hi Mitch, I am sure that if you rehabbed for a year you probably know a lot of this but I will put it out there anyway. Once symptoms are gone it is important to keep the forearms strong but equally important is to strengthen the shoulder blade musculature. Larger handles are less stressful than small handles and a tacky handle requires less gripping force than a slippery one. Also, do your heavy gripping activities in moderation and not for long periods of time. The tennis elbow strap can help dissapate force when gripping. Best of luck! Paul

    Before I have the inner elbow pain then eventually my outer elbow too. It is so painful. You are correct when you say that particular area on the elbow where the pain comes from and I'm like "there, you hit the right spot". I am using the strap on my forearm now. This video explains better on how to use the strap and how the strap lessens the pain. Thank you.

    Also, did you say "you shouldn't wear it all day" or "you should wear it all day"?

    • @TKFOH
      @TKFOH 2 года назад +1

      Fairly certain he said "you shouldn't wear it all day long". However, I've been dealing with tennis elbow for the past month or so, and I've found things as simple as answering the phone at work, or opening a door, or even gripping the lightest of objects to aggravate the pain. I've been wearing the strap throughout the majority of the day the past 2-3 days, and it's made a huge difference in those minor activities, as I'm able to do them with little to no pain now.

I was getting some serious pain in my outer elbow and went to see an orthopedic, he said it’s something called truck drivers elbow. @@lorilalonde7111 careful doing acupuncture when it's too acute. Ignore all these videos that say roll a dumbbell with your wrist etc... Had my bad elbow for 4 months with zero improvement and at times it got worse from bad RUclips videos and bad local advice from physios. What worked is 90% rest but 10% squeezes followed by ice....3 sets of 20 seconds initially every day, at first when it was chronic I just closed my fist (followed by ice) then after a week or two increased to clench fist, then squeeze fist as though squeezing juice from a lemon. Once no pain after a few weeks of squeezes, I moved to gentle rotation with a broomstick, then rotation and holding the rotation either way for 20 seconds. Once elbow reached the moderate stage I then went to towel rotation with hands going opposite ways. If any of the above hurt or stung then go back to the previous level until it's ready to move on....WORST MISTAKE is going to the next level when it just wasn't ready. Trust me the above works and is the correct rate at which to recover, after 4 months of hell....the above routine sorted it in 4 weeks.

I agree what one of your viewer said that its not easy to walk to the clinic nowadays with the current situation and I had been bearing tennis elbow since 4 or 5 months back without knowing it in the first place. And only visited the doctor 4 days back!
    Now with the supplied painkiller the pain is less. But the pills will run out soon and I am always working with my laptop plus doing houseworks. Should i get more medicine supplies (Doctor gave me Beazyme & Remafen) or wait for my elbow's progress? If there is pain to the wrist, is this connected to tennis elbow? I also undergo minor ops on my trigger finger a year ago. Does that all related to having this pains? Just to get your opinion if possible. Thank you.

    Would this strap be contraindicated if c6/radial nerve irritation is the root of the elbow pain?

    What if my forearm area to my thumb tingles? Is that considered tennis elbow? I don't have any pain, just constant tingling from my forearm to my thumb, not my other digits.

      This would require further testing. A cervical herniated disc could cause this also.

    hello doc, I have tennis elbow right now because of my gym routine. the thing is, can i still go to the gym? and should i wear this strap or the sleeve one?
    if i'm wearing the strap there is so much tension and pain on foream when I'm doing things like barbell curl. and it didn't help to leviate the elbow pain 😥

    • @OrthoEvalPal
      @OrthoEvalPal  3 года назад

      First of all, you may not have tennis elbow and a strap could make it worse. Your brace is too tight if it hurting more. I would recommend a rest from heavy gripping in the gym. Strapping weights around the wrist eliminates the gripping so you can continue to strengthen the shoulders. Best of luck!

    My elbows hurt but also my forearm when I am lifting anything. Should I put this below my elbow like you do in this video or below the sore muscles too? The muscles only hurt when I lift things, while my elbows are sore with any movement.

    • @OrthoEvalPal

      I would put it where I showed it in the video. If it causes more pain with it there, you may have radial tunnel syndrome.

    I have outer elbow pain and sore connected forearm muscle with occasional slight strain in outer 2 fingers, no gripping issues. (CTR done years ago, btw.) Tried the strap today and noticeable swelling in hand so decided it was too tight, but when I loosen it, it is not effectively blocking the strain on the area, not at all.
    This pain gradually came on, I think from repetitive typing on laptop (work related.) Exacerbated by weight lifting then again when I did tree trimming.
    I don't know what to do, watched your video and if this isn't tight enough it is useless but when tightened, hand is swelled

    I was recently diagnosed with tennis elbow and elbow bursitis. However, I’m not 100% sure that’s correct. The physician did an X-ray and physical exam of my elbow, then diagnosed me with the TE and EB. I definitely think something is wrong with the tendons though. I don’t have health insurance, so I can’t really go to the follow up appointments with a PCP and orthopedic doctor. Idk what to do!! 😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫

    Hello, just came across your video while looking for a tennis elbow strap. 1 year ago I underwent an EMG per my neurologist' advised and the results I had a moderate carpal tunnel syndrome. My neurologist prescribed Lyrica 75mg at bedtime for a month but I discontinued taking after 3 weeks because I became temperamental, depressed and had suicidal thoughts... didn't see my neurologist again. Good for me my CTS eventually is gone but now I have tennis elbow pain, sad. I wake up in the middle of the night because of numbness in my arm. Can I just take NSAIDS instead of Lyrica? Thanking you all the way from The Philippines. Stay safe!

    • @OrthoEvalPal
      @OrthoEvalPal  4 года назад +1

      Hi Sendy, Numbness can't come from Tennis elbow, without evaluating you it's hard to tell but you probably have a nerve being compressed somewhere from your neck down. NSAIDs could help.
