Very wholesome video! One thing I love about our people is just how friendly they are. Watching these videos about Guatemala now that I'm abroad and missing home and craving chiles rellenos 😅
I couldn't agree more - everyone is so kind and welcoming! Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to try chiles rellenos yet - I can't find a restaurant that makes them... I guess the ingredients are out of season so I'll have to come back to give them a try =)
Need longer videos of your experience in Guatemala. 😬 I’m heading there in March with the husband and bro to visit family. I recommend Quetzaltenango and Retalhuleu. Lago de Atitlan is also beautiful.
Jorge! I’ll be posting more videos about my travels here in Guatemala the next few weeks. Currently in lake atitlan and have an open week towards the end of the month! Keep your eye out for more videos 👍
@@LifeByPeterGreat! I’ll keep an eye on them. I came across your video of Antigua since we’ll be staying there for a few days before heading to Retalhuleu but mom enjoyed them. She liked that you said thank you and were polite. Ha. Not sure if you’ve had them yet but try garnachas and rellenitos de frijol.
Hey Peter beautiful video, congratulations, loved it. Guatemala is so beautiful and has so much to offer and give; sadly, it is soo underrated by the rest of the world. Hope you enjoy all the time you spend in this country. Blessings and we look forward to more of your videos.
Hey Chapin! I agree with you completely… Guatemala is truly incredible and one of my favorite places I’ve ever been to. I’m incredibly grateful to be able to experience such a wonderful country!
10:50 I don't know if you are still in Guatemala, but I must tell you that they usually give you 3 or 4 tortillas for every Q1 Tortilla sellers sell 3 or 4 Tortillas for Q1, in all stores in Guatemala If you want 10 Tortillas, you must ask: "Give me Q3 of tortillas please" and they will give you 9 or 12 Tortillas. You should always ask for the amount of Quetzales
That is very helpful information! Thank you so much. It seems the first place I went to was 1Q for 1 Tortilla, and the second place was as you have mentioned (3-4 tortillas for 1Q). Good to know!
@@LifeByPeterNowhere do they sell 1 tortilla for Q1, they probably scammed you, sorry for that 😔 That is why you should always ask mentioning the amount of Quetzales so that they do not try to take advantage of you my friend
ah! I forgot to clarify that you must also mention the word "Tortilla" Because In those places they also sell "Masa" (dough), And you don't need that GG😅
@LifeByPeter thanks man. The only thing I have planned is philippines in September. If I have the money saved, I'll try to spend a month in guatemala before philippines. You're younger than me. Look into income investing. I'm buying funds that pay monthly. ( yieldmax, defiance,) risky buy high payout.
@@LifeByPeter The word in Spanish is just "camionetas". It would make a very interesting story how these ex-school buses are given a new life in Guatemala as local buses which provide a life-line of very affordable transport for the people.

Hola! Estoy de acuerdo y creo que fue un error tratar de comparar la comida de Guatemala con la comida de Estados Unidos. Efectivamente, son completamente diferentes. Espero no haber ofendido a nadie al hacerlo.
I love that the people are so friendly and the food is so good!
Very entertaining video . Antigua is a beautiful colonial city. For the most part, Guatemalans always greet you with a smile .

"Chicken buses" are not called such in Spanish. Though, it does make a cute story.
Normalmente los estadounidenses les llaman Chicken Bus desde siempre

Hey Andres - I think Guatemala is a beautiful place filled with incredibly kind people, beautiful landscapes and buildings, and great food!
What is the name of your country?
