Is Doncic going to go down as the greatest offensive player ever ? Not just talking scoring, but also the ability to set up his teammates Btw, Stan Van Gundy called Doncic the greatest offensive player in NBA history, so don't be shy to state your opinion if you're a Luka fan
To the world but not the nba. They hate luka's greatness. Luka is not a big but he out plays them every game. Just look at his stats and the mavs record
Luka is a basketball Savant. It's beautiful watching him do his thing out there. And to think that he's doing what he does against the best in the world. It's hard to overstate his greatness.
He definitely added another layer to the game of bball. Up and coming stars will be using progressive deceleration. Seems like defensive approaches can handle extreme acceleration and speed but don’t know how to handle progressive deceleration.

Sadly as much of a mavs fan I am, and love Luka. The mvp award will go to jokic because he shoots st 70% from the floor while getting 27 ppl 13 rebounds and 9 assists. Not that I want him to win it more than Luka but the shooting % is what will determine the mvp award this year
@@HawkDude22 Because Jokic relies on more close range shots. Thats why Luka has the most 3s in the NBA besides Curry and Jokic is nowhere near close. AND Luka has the 2nd greatest season in NBA history in PPG+RPG+APG, greater than Jokic's last 2 MVP runs and this season as well.
Hes just getting started hes only 25 he will only get better and this is his first season having a good pieces around him or lob threat and rim protection
You can expect him to be like this 10 more years because his game don't rely on speed or athleticism he will be just as good at 35 as he is now if not better
@@Funny___Dog Thats wishful thinking he said hes not playing that long to break lebalcos total points record and why should he care about that? Luka will probably retire when hes around 36
And these are just the plays where they made the basket and got the assist. There are a ton more where Luka made the spectacular pass and somebody blew the shot or was fouled. Luka’s best blown assists would make a great highlight reel.
If you look at all the greats players with the same time in the NBA he is ahead of them. If he play long enough and stays healthy. He will be #1. Everyone talk about curry now and his hitting all ranges. He was not doing it as well as Luka is now.
Yes he is the most complete player ever offensively i said before this season started Luka is a great shooter if hes in shape at least 38% from 3 whats crazy is that hes only 25 and just entering his prime he can only get better and he will age like a fine wine since his game don't rely on speed and athleticism he will average 30+ 10 straight years and retire in his prime 10 years from now cuz he will be as good at 35 as he is now if not better
I’ve come back here to say, he’s now a two way player in the playoffs. He’s playing beautiful defense, and Kyrie don’t even get me started. He’s playing the best defense of his career while being level headed, fighting over screens, sliding his feet, getting contests. This is championship level ball.
@@joeyscott1574 sure. I’m just saying that modern NBA fans tend to be ahistorical and get all their basketball knowledge reading stats on a chart and not watching the game.
You have to say this era because of the openness of the court now compared to when MJ played. Back then only 1 or 2 players could shoot 3 pointers on a team. Now that every player can do it the defense is spread out. 2 completely styles of games. If MJ played today he numbers where be higher.
Lot of career to go. He is MVP or it is a rip-off! All stats show Luka: 33.9 9.2 9.8 16th in rebounding only guard in top 40, 9th in steals, 2nd in 3pt shots behind Curry, 1st in clutch shots!
And that’s why 2016 Steph was so easy to be forgot, bro averaged almost 30+ pts in just 3 quarters and sat down the entire 4th quarter Idc what you saying but Luka’s just one of the greatest, not the greatest
Curry 2016: 34.3 mpg 30 PPG 6.7 assists per game 67% true shooting Luka 2024: 37.5 mpg 34 PPG 9.8 assists per game 62% true shooting Curry is a bit more efficient in scoring but Luka has him beat in terms of volume, playmaking and passing. Luka also generates more offense than Curry per minute. Luka with 3 more assists and 4 more points in an extra 3 minutes suggests Luka has the better offensive season. Sure you can hang on to Curry's efficiency but I would say the gap isn't big enough to make up for the volume difference. Luka also attempts more absurd shots like half court heaves at the end of quarters which brings down his efficiency. Overall, they're nearly equally good scorers but Luka is by far the better facilitator.
Some things that stick out to me. How many times I go "what?!?" How many times I think, "there's no real defense against what he just did." The awareness of his teammates to manage to not just get smacked in the face by some of his no look ridiculous passes that are perfectly timed. The sheer number of clutch shots made. He feels like Joe Montana on a final drive in the NFL "Not sure how, but I'd bet life savings he makes it happen." And he does.
Luka saved basketball for me. I am a 32 year old, I grew up here in north tx about 30 min from Dallas for most of my life. Dirk was my hero for my childhood and won a championship when I was 18 years old. It was the most magical thing I had ever experienced in sports. Dirk meant everything to me, especially as a German. My dad moved here at 18 from Germany so we were massive fans of Dirk. I feared I wouldn’t have the same fandom after Dirk and that there would be a basketball void in my heart. And then we drafted Luka. And slowly but surely I saw potential that I’ve never personally seen before. Could it be we drafted dirks perfect spiritual successor in the final years of his career? We did! I am so grateful, I don’t care what national media says. Luka will get his just like Dirk did, and he probably won’t be appreciated until way later just like Dirk. Luka saved basketball for me!
