I love how calm your videos are. A lot of prolific youtube 'hosts' rush through information and are just....hyper. I think your methodical, thoughtful process really is a reflection of what a good photographer should try to emulate in his/her process. Really enjoy the channel and appreciate the good info.!
Jay D well said. Totally agree.

My wife came to the room while It was showing the final image, and without knowing what was happening she immediately expressed a Wow! It's amazing how the effort of creating a nice image can substantially differ it from a snapshot. She wanted me to take a picture of her in a red dress in the beach. I'm in trouble now :-D
Congratulations Tony and Chelsea! I'm a huge fan of your work, love your books and videos! Thanks for sharing your knowlege with us!
Meticulous attention to detail, the trial and error the commitment. Absolute pros. Pleasure to watch this video.
So instructive, I'm from Brazil and I learn from photographers all over the world, your videos are always the best!
Who would have thought this dress wasn't original but was constructed with many pieces in PS. The entire shot was beautifully arranged and composed in post. Loved how you added the splash of water for movement. Very detailed. So impressed.
Thank you - you two certainly have a show-through talent for this kind of work! Great chemistry between the two of you and it is easy to feel like you, as a viewer, are part of the whole process and part of the fun. Love it!
Still, would have been fun to see Tony in a dress.
Anyway, important things aside, great video! :D
I loved it. Your explanations were very informative, you were thorough with your information and suggestions. I love the tidbits of extra enhancements you made like the splash, and the bird, and the extra trees created inspiration for me. I already new about shadows and liked your idea of how to do them. Thanks, great tutorial.
amazing details...an incredible tutorial that shows just how much work goes into the creative process..
Super fascinating, especially for a non-photographer such as myself. Thanks for the deep dive.
Great tutorial. Very clear instruction. I am definitely going to try this out.
The DJI footage looked great. Also I loved the use of fades between shots when you were scouting. Gave it a great sense that it took time to scout.
Love the video. Always nice to show all the work that goes into the final image.
I love your work T&C, you guys are a great inspiration to me.
+Ian Cassanova Thanks, Ian!
+Tony Northrup Great video! Can you review Tamron SP 45mm f1.8 vc?
Wow Chelsea you're so good with Photoshop !
I'm new with it but I'm learning fast watching you ! thank you.
A quick but quality concept to workflow overview. Loved it. Well done to the whole team. I need to start comping too.
Thank you for showing us your techniques for Photoshop; we learned alot. Keep them videos coming!
Very artistic and great tutorial, you make it look so easy. As they say practice makes perfect, thanks for another great video
Oh the shots with the DJI are working sooo well here! Thanks, was fun to watch!
It's like from different dimension! You guys are really experts.
I really love youse as photography teachers ..thanks for all the videos and books that you made for us :) ...
Love the background music, you always make excellent choices as far as music in your videos.
Well done guys thanks so much for taking the time to show how this amazing image was made! Cheers.
Woooow this is the most professional bts video I've ever seen!!
You gave me inspiration in less than 20 minutes!!!!!!1 WOW just Wow
You are a great photographer and teacher. I'd love to see more photoshop videos, especially comps. How about some tabletop tricks? That could be fun. Thanks!
You guys just keep on getting better and better! Great video. Many thanks.
Christmas Blessings...
This editing is simply amazing.
This is your finest effort yet!
I do things like this all the time when I'm painting or doing other things in Photoshop.
It's both great and sad that these techniques are done *_all_* the time and some people take what they see in magazines and on TV as factual truth.
Takes a whole lot of patience and knowledge of Photoshop to end up with a final image that great. No wonder I am lousy at it. Looking forward to the book.
Great video...
I love your tutorial style videos as my top 10 youtube consumption.
Keep it coming
Superb! Chelsea & Tony rock. Thank you for the tutorial.
Can't believe this only has 147 comments. Great stuff. I appreciate everything you guys have posted. And you helped me get my drone license :-)
Great tutorial ..... can't wait for the PS-book.
I just have a landscape picture with a tree-line (trees without leaves) on the horizon and like to change the sky in a sunrise.
Struggling with selecting and changing the sky between the trees.
I really enjoyed this; not only because it showed how to do something like this, but that even pros like yourselves struggle with using these tools. Some great ideas; thanks! BTW My vote would be more "behind the scenes" videos as you find them useful.
Fantastic video you two. Thank you so much for sharing!
looking fwd to this book. i have already your other two books and they are awesome. thank you for your tutorials :-)
+Gab Riela Thanks!
Superb video, very professional !!!
Hey, guys, you did a súper NICE video here!!!!! Congratulations!!!! and thanks very much for sharing your work, your knowledge and hard work. THANK YOU!!!
:D
Another fantastic video, love watching your videos, you guys have put in some fantastic work. I love this style of photography and is similar to surreal as it shows something being creative, without that someone would think it was just naturally show in the wind like that. The thing I wondered was when shooting, was that natural sunlight or was flash used to light the model? Overall great video :)
With the release date of this video, I think it is incredibly apt that (unless I am very much mistaken) Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker" (Act II) music is playing in the background. Visions of Sugar Plum Fairies shall dance in my head. Also, I liked the original foggy image test shots quite a great deal. The finished product looks marvelous. I am not certain I could ever be so bold with this sort of styling!
+Tyler Barton I only noticed Beethoven's 9th, but it is very quiet.
Great job, quite a bit of magic worked there! :)
Wow! Nice production value guys :) Great to see the improvements! :D
beauitful! but we also loved the gorgeous photo of Chelsea!
Great tips, that´s the way you do it on RUclips . And I was looking as well to improve my photo and video gear, and I am definetly going for the 5DSR and the A7R II there is no way you can get the quality that you guys have without one of those beautifull cameras!!!
You are can count on me in southern Spain for whatever you guys may need! Thanks!!!
Awesome work! Thanks for sharing!!
Great video, Its interesting to see yout "decission flow", I dont know if thats how to call it, but its interesting to see a similar style to me. Have an idea, scout the locations you think will work and then go to play with some pictures.
Dont much like all the work in PS, but thats just me.
Great video guys, thanks.
4 hours! By my standard that's not long for a photoshop session for such an important/high quality work, I really need to get practicing lol thank you for the awesome tutorial!
This tutorial was helpful. Nice work.
Nicely done ,really nice !!
Do you guys have a book on editing with Photoshop? LR is so much easier than PS. I’m having a hard time figuring out how to use PS. Fantastic shot, Chelsea by the way !!
Great work Chelsea 😍😍
Great stuff guys.
What is the editing software you are you using and where can I purchase it? Thanks for the great content😊
I wish I know how to use Photoshop like you Chelsea, it's just awesome...by the way which Photoshop do you used?
Very good and informative video.
Great job. Do you have a video where you explain how to create shadows a bit more on photoshop
Thank you so much for sharing this video !
Yep , Photoshop is beyond me 😂 great work ! Can't wait till I get my hand on the ps book
O My God! Jenious Girl .
Nice nice and nice work !!!!!
Awesome tutorial! It turned out so great! I absolutely love both of the images that you created
+Sarah Bowman Photography Thanks, Sarah! And thanks again for the great article and inspiration!
+Tony Northrup What about the digital version? is it coming ?
+Tony Northrup Of course!! ^_^
This is just amazing! I'm buying PS soon (and the book!) so this is helpful. Justin, great filming, the Osmo footage is great, and great editing! You guys all make a great team! Also, I just bought that Dolica tripod with your link, does it matter that I clicked on the 65 inch option instead of the 60 inch one you recommended? Your tag (northruporg) was still in the URL, so I guess it's fine. I'm looking into a computer, so I'll watch your video about it today. I'll price out a computer I can build vs a laptop or computer I can buy.
+Matthew F Photo Thanks, Matthew! As long as you click through the link we should get some credit. Enjoy that new computer!
Tony Northrup I'm happy I used that link! I'm still looking for a computer but I priced it out and my dream computer may be a lot of money! A Surface Pro 3 used on Amazon with a type cover and pen for the Pro 4 (newest model) and a USB 3.0 hub and an external hard drive comes above $1000, but my dream computer may end up even more. SanDisk has an affordable 960GB SSD for $250, so that's good! I'm using a Lenovo G50 Intel i7, 8GB RAM, 1 TB HDD now, and it's pretty good, but I wanted something I can use as my own computer. The Surfaces are good for Photoshop work since you can get a Surface Pen and use the Pro 3 as your display, and not have to buy a Wacom tablet anyway. I'm looking up an XPS 13 or 15, I know you said you liked yours. I'll do more research today, and thanks for the reply!
+Matthew F Photo I just got the tripod for Christmas and it is great! I'm so happy I got it and I used your recommendation! I hope you had a great Christmas!
NIce video. Thank you.
I d like to support you... e.g. with buying your book(s). I just have a hard time deciding between your Photography and Photoshop book.
I am at it for a while now... and have SOME experience. Also been educating myself through the internet (incl. an Not-To-Be-Named other photography teaching company).
Long story short I am trying to decide, which of this books might have more advance topics (even though I know their are primarily for beginners).
In general I enjoy doing composites and generally photoshop manipulation almost as much as I do taking pictures.
(at least if I am doing stuff for myself without a deadline or such).
So will your book have stuff that is @ the level of this video or above?? Or do i have to get into wildlife photography during winter?
P.S. what the hack lets just get the photoshop book shortly before Christmas vacations and the photography one shortly before spring
... its not like you charge for what they are worth ;)
Hi guys! When should we expect the book to come out?:) thank you!
Great work, you two. I am curious to know how many shots of the dress you took?
+Amir Sharafeh Ballpark, 100. Obviously we didn't need to use them all.
I never seen anyone do that. Add to a dress on PS. I added to hair. But never thought to add a comp!!! nice work looks good
Hi Tony....do u ship this book world wide??
I have learnt alot from your videos. I want to have this book
I use Gimp, and this stuff is addictive. I can Gimp for hour and hours. Also I save work that preserves layers as I go so I can go back and redo if I find I have forgotten something. Plus you can reuse the layers later.
Does Gimp handle RAW files yet?
Great tutorial!
What sort of steadicam and camera are you using for your location B-roll? Looks great! Any stabilization in post?
+Ian Graham It's the DJI Osmo (sdp.io/osmo, we have a review on our channel).
+Tony Northrup - Great. Thank you!
Hey guys, what did you use for the walking video shots? Looked amazing!
+Nick Hodgson The DJI Osmo (sdp.io/osmo). We'll have a review out on Saturday. Looks great, though, right?
+Tony Northrup Thanks, should, have read the description! Yes it does look amazing, looking forward it the review :)
Awesome job. Thanks
that's an awesome lesson
Not my sort of thing but very impressive and an amzing final image
Awesome!!
you guys should have tried the "dehaze" feature that is new to lightroom
Hi , what you think of Panasonic G7 I was thinking to buy a good DSLR for recording 4k gadgets review and portrait photography , first I decided to go with Sony A7Rii but it costs a lot , should I wait for Canon 6D Mark ii that will be 4k or G7 will be good enough ?
+Adil Rehman No headphone jack on the G7, can't work for me. Maybe use Zoom H4N with it or something similar?
Ahmed Reda headphone jack is not an issue as most of the reviews use voiceour and I ordered blue yeti pro for this
+Ahmed Reda You can go cheaper and use the H1; we often do that.
Hi Chelsea
great tutorial...but the classic music in the background is not background for a Tinitus sufferer so listening to you was realy hard for me...although the choice of music may help something softer with more base than the classic crunchy sound...Keep up the good work girl you are great.
loves from Holland Micky
What kind of computer you are working on ?
I need to buy one and there are so many options!
Please help
Great video instructiion C&T
Great work, really interesting "BTS" stuff.
Hi, what kind of pen and tablet do you use for your editing, and does it only work with photoshop or can it be used with lightroom?
I've seen Chelsea using it with Lightroom as well.
Nicely done.. why one of the sandals on right feet has black and on left feet is white. :)
i loved that
Wow!
super fan here :)
Beethoven's 9th in the background, classy!
Nice work beautiful lady, thumbs up...
Great video, I'm not much into composites but I need to do it for fashion work. The only thing that bugged me was the video title felt off. Shouldn't this be a fashion photoshoot and not glamour?
is glamour photography possible with just natural light?
You're basically the Bob Ross of Photoshop
try the nikon 200-500mm vr f/5.6 lens
wonderfull
Great overall photo, but why include the sandals in the shot?
Which format shoud i ahoot for Hoarding..
I fully expected a jubilant Hanson Gruber to appear in the photo edit. Ode to Joy.
One thing film shooters never bother with is pixel. Can't help but think that when here about pixels.
Nice Job! Don't forget to get your brakes checked out ;) 4:02
maybe is just me, but I thought Chelsea was the model on the Photoshop book :)
