For me it's the space between what fills our daily life. There are so many things to discover in those little cracks between work, family, friends and hobbies.
This is the first track of the album and the album itself a journey into a magic world. So I'm taking this quite literally as the space between this world and the world of fantasy, magic, fairytales and stories. If you read the lyrics, there is a lot about travelling to somewhere unknown, in my mind this would happen by reading books, watching movies, listening to music.... "strange comforts, curious canvases, front seat to history" is exactly how I feel with a good book. In the other songs of the album there are some definite references to the book series The Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss. These songs are SO uncannily marvellously good in producing the exactly same atmosphere as in the books that it's not even real. My brain just doesn't grasp how it's even possible...
In this album there is also a very nice song called "Aphrodite Rising". In this song you hear a different side of Johanna: playful, (even more) feminine, fun and a little bit seductive. 😊🎶 I think it is a very lovely song but nobody ever suggest that.😅
Yes, it's Kai on the drums, incidentally, Kai is performing a solo show in Helsinki this coming February and will be playing song's from his back catalogue including; Nightwish, Wintersun and Auri. I'll be flying over from the Highlands of Scotland to attend the concert and I'm really hoping this song may be in his repertoire for the evening.
In the upcomming Nightwish hyatus I would expect that AURI will finally tour. Several years ago Troy said in an interview that they might possibly tour sometime after the release of their (then) future second album (AURI II, released 2021). The pandemic, of course, affected all plans for both Nightwish as well as AURI.
Hello you two. Johanna plays all violins and violas, Troy plays all guitars and Kai has recorded percussion on both albums. Tuomas just sits in the corner looking like a naughty Jack Sparrow! Lol
😀😍😘Absolutely beautiful song , the boys take us to another dimension and Johana's wonderful heavenly singing adds something mystical and magical to the song 😇😘❤
I think this is my favourite Auri track. It's so haunting and Johanna's beautiful voice is as perfect as she is. There isn't a bad track on the entire album. Once you've done your reactions you should treat yourself by listening to the whole thing. I'm hoping that the downtime they are having while Floor is having a baby may result in a third album and maybe a tour.
What do you think Auri is meaning by "The Space Between"?

I dont remember you doing side 2 of Human : Nature yet...
For me, it's the best thing Tuomas has written (so far)
As someone whose roots are in classical music, I concur.
Yes, but make sure you do the fan video by Painted World of Ash (used to be called Sensei Video), it's a fantastic accompaniment!
@@elvwood I concur, it's so good Nightwish use it in their museum.

Since you mention Tuomas a lot I think it's important to note that all three members contribute melodies and lyrics to the songs.
Yes. People just are so used to him being the main composer 😊
Yes, that's the uniqe aspect of AURI. It is a super collaberative effort.

Johanna plays violin...so nice.
You can trace a definite path between this album and what became HUMAN :||: NATURE. WE are the Sons and Daughters of Endlessness - life on Earth.
Currently my most favorite song is probably Night 13. But I also love this song and it is on the same scale as Night 13 to me. It is hard to decide.
Love your reactions. You should listen to Auri night 13, that is my favorite
Yup, Night 13 is an absolute must-hear from Auri
Agree. Night 13 is a great song as I said on the premiere
Aren't they brilliant as a Trio? 🙂
