Carcass ins one of the most PERFECT metal bands ever! I remember in 98 when i saw the cover art in a store and that art convince me to buy it - yes, at that time i used to buy metal record by its cover, and always nail it: deicide one upon the cross, death the sound of perseverance, napalm word from the exit wounds and others- Anyway heart work is a full masterpiece, love all song and its one of the best metal albuns ive ever heard...CARCASS, you deserve the best always, yous music makes me feel better every time i hear it!

Back in 1993 they’d had a GrindCore Tour at this place called Chapter Two ( now Chapter 11!), but it was Napalm Death; Carcass; Cathedral and BoltThrower anyway as we were walking around the boulevard who’d come out but Bill Steer so after talking with him for a while about music I gave him a demo of our band and he said he’d check it out; so as we’re going back to the car he says that we reminded him of both Sabbath and Priest which was what I was going for. He was really down to earth and coming from his standpoint I guess that meant quite a lot; we were picked up by the same label down the road which is AxCx and this tape went nowhere. lol; still a nice memory when I look back on his listening to some kid’s tape which he could’ve just said he had, right.? Ending up on a major label with Carcass and company was a total trip too lol ❤! Sincerely, DJP Anal Cunt; Postmortem and Kilslug Sony; Earache 🇬🇧 Columbia and TAANG!! Records @ ALL RIGHTS RESERVED by copyright infringement laws worldwide via Boston Massachusetts Amerikkka quite obvious by this point in our country’s history; that’s for damn sure! Cheers nonetheless!

As far as I understand Blackstar's music is written by Carlo Regadas who played guitar in Carcass during Swansong album era. Eventually Bill Steer quit Carcass and the band transformed into other band named Blackstar which was basically that era Carcass minus Bill Steer (Carlo Regadas with Jeff Walker and Ken Owen) to play much more straightforward music (like the song Blackstar is if you put it against other Carcass material).
So today it probably doesn't feel right for them to play that particular song. Also nowadays Carcass continue making music stilistically mostly in Necroticism and Heartwork era vein as if they fully omitted Swansong, except for the first track.

No one ever sees my comments, but I'll say it anyway. Bit of a lethargic audience but glad to see they at crowd surfing (or is the mosh pit out of view?). Funny to hear a scouser in Berkeley California. First saw Carcass at Bristol Uni in 1994 right after the release of their Heartwork EP and fell in love with their dynamism and ability to punch into beautiful melodic bluesy guitar solos which felt Maiden level in quality. They were probably the most technical death metal band to come out of the UK. "Buried dreams" is still my favorite death metal song ever.

First saw them on the "Heartwork" tour at the Berkeley Square in '93(?). Pitch Shifter was an opening act, back when Pitch Shifter was good.
Jeff has gone from looking like a skinny hippie chick with dreads to the lovechild of John Cleese and Billy Connely.
Bill still looks exactly the same, 30 years later!

@@thatpointinlife ok I know what happened. They did two legs on heartwork tour. One pitch shifter opened and one was life of agony. I got confused thinking one was necroticism tour and one was heartwork tour but they were both heartwork. Yeah maybe it was that beating I received. 😳

@@jlobiafra , haha! I was wrong about the year. It was '94, not '93. 3-16-94 to be exact. Just came across an old video that someone recorded of Carcass's set.
And Jello's beat-down was at The Gilman, not the Square. Should've figured it happened at Gilman.
