I agree with you here. Deception always abounds. And any "christian" who had no problems with this story did not read the Bibles themselves so they didn't know any different, most likely also attended churches with "pastors" who regularly lead them astray on many unBiblical concepts/practices. It's definitely more effective at pushing people towards heresy, it's so subtle to the majority that they won't see a thing wrong with it, but to the smaller percentage of us who are Biblically sound we see how drastic the heresies actually are. It's an abomination for sure.

When The Shack says GOD has no expectations from us it's not saying GOD will let every one in heaven. After all GOD can see into the future and no who's going to face they're wrath or not. The point the story was making is that your not supposed to act like your worshiping is GOD is like a civile duty or a job, but like a sincere friendship

In 118, Young appears to interpret GOD's love for all man to be like that of a parent for his children( Matthew 10:30-31), but the biblical texts are talking more about inheritance than love concerning the term adopted children; inheritance such as the kingdom of GOD and heaven. The sons of GOD vs Satan dichotomy is a clear comparison of the spiritual leanings of people more so than who so ever the "parents" favor. Yeshua calling the Pharisees the sons of Satan is like him saying "you truly are your father's son" , and of course Yeshua does say they'd accept him if they truly were Abraham's children but it's the earlier comparison is to show that the Pharisees are dishonest and are willing to go as far as murdering an innocent person than simply not worshiping him. I don't think such love is found in Satan and his "children" or vice versa
To clear things up a bit I think it's true that GOD will "disown" a large number of There children once are out of time to turn to Christ, but that such a process will have be performed while the lost are loved all the same
