In the story, Butterman's mom drove her Datsun Cherry off the cliff due to being depressed for losing the Village of the Year Award. Though Danny thinks it wasn't that, but it was more due to his father's relationship with her. Either way, the father used his anger over that to blame anyone who would hurt their chances to get the Village Award.

It's as common as being attacked by a goose when they're breeding. They're protecting the female and the eggs. Geese will set up nests in parking lots, and if you walk too close, watch out.
The local swans here had developed an extortion racket for people having lunch by the river in summer. And that's why we watch reaction videos, so we can re-live that moment in others. Love it! It's such a great movie. Love that you spotted the Aaron A. Aaronson pay off. Nearly every line spoken pays off later in the film. "You wanna be a big cop in a small town, f*** off up to the model village." So where does the final chase scene end but in the model village.
My favorite thing about this is that the producers struggled for a while to come up with someone who could play a Timothy Dalton-esque villain for Skinner, and then one day they're just like "Why don't we ask Timothy Dalton?" :P
