One mistake I made was talking about the AD/DA converters... It's not called "Audio Digital" the right name is "Analog Digital"... My bad, I'll do better next time.
Ave Mcree nope! REDO! Lol. Dope video as always brozay 👍🏿
Can't Ctrl Zedd that one but gr8 video anyways
Players F up! Don't trip.Lol. Thank for the video.
I remember the Ren having vintage mode. Never seen that on a 2000XL or even mentioned in the manual? Can any 2000XL users confirm? Where is that feature located in the menu?
I like to effect send the snare to sp1200 ring and blend the two together. It adds a nice crunch that helps the snare cut through the mix. Good video!
You can really hear the difference in your tracks with the mpc one. Liked the mpc 60 sound. This is one of my fave tracks youve made. Keep it up your tracks sound amazing.
I just wanted to say thanks for all the MPC One Content. Im patiently waiting on mine and enjoying the videos. Keep making awesome content.
my pleasure
Me and you are in the same boat can’t wait
I absolutely love the sp1200 ring sound. especially after export.
MPC 60 takes the cake on this one
Yeah it subtle but it makes your beats have proper crunch and the bass hits different... I have it as my default on every beat lmao.
That's my favorite too
@@AveMcree me to bra that's all I use the 60 emulation is where it's at bra I'm sorry it smacks harder.
nope, it doesn't
TBH they all sound different after export. The sp12000 ring sounds amazing after export.
Not bad atleast they considered the "legacy" sound when they made it. Its a plus that Akai made it an effect you can place on diferent channels and programs. LOVE that!
oh yeah baby I love it!
Thanks for sharing this 😀 I really like the MPC60-sound. My brother and I had one back in the 90's.
LoFi can be done many ways ..I iust seen a video by IAMSIGHT he had a chain of effects together. Thanks for posting this video bro
thanks family
If Akai was to give us other vintage emulations of stuff that wasn't even their's would be dope! MV8000, ASR 10, SP 202/303/404 & all that other good stuff.
agreed
@@AveMcree swing also. A lot of machine had their own clocks & swing grooves.
404 is not vintage at all if you ask me.
They took 2 legendary 12bit Samplers, the ones you named are all 16bit Samplers.
@@harryballs840 well the OG 404 would be more vintage but then SX & A came after.
@@harryballs840 The "lo fi" effect on the 404 is whatever, but the 202 has some unique grime to it when sampling at lower rates through Lo Fi 1 and 2.
I'm stuck watching videos on this for the next month and a half until mine comes. Lol Hopefully by the time it gets here I have a good understanding of it. I've been working inside the box in FL for the past year.
Thanks for posting. Keeps me going until they start delivering pre-orders to Canada.
Their still not in Canada? Goodness I almost raged after waiting a month... You won't be disappointed.
i literally almost passed out with excitement when i realized my akai force had vintage mode too after coming across this video 😂
When you were transitioning: I could hear the crunch expansion but when you went to the SP1200 ring ...that alias artifact was reminiscent of the Casio SK-1. This was Very Very Helpful. Thank You my brother in MPC arms.
thanks man!! Right now I'm learning as much as I can about the MPC One before I buy it. Your videos are top notch 🙌
Great stuff. Learning a lot from these clips. Making using my new ONE and first MPC a joy 👊🏼™️
Low pass filter is definitely a better option and it can be placed on whatever sound you choose, and if you combine it with the sp1200ring it's great.
Or you can just use the air lofi fx and do exactly what you want to it
What's up Sir. Thanks for taking the time to share this with us. I still have my Sp1200 and the ring mod sounds pretty close.
Cool beans... I remember AKAI making a promise to add more algo (but we know how that story goes)... Good to hear an official SP1200 head speak they piece on vintage mode. I'm hoping for an ASR10 37khz mode or an S-950 mode (though I heard it's the same ad/da as the MPC60.
ANTHONY SCOTT sell it for 5000
Dope video. The MPC X also comes pretty close for that old lo fi beat 👊
I liked this one for sure, I definitely learned something I didn't know before. I think this is a good theme
If you want the vintage effects stronger just apply it in all four of the effects thing
MOU-TV is it over powering if you do that or will be it ok ?
paris flacko do it to your liking , don’t have to use all of em
MOU-TV thanks 🙏🏾®
OR just use the Lo fi plug in and adjust the settings as you like, same result except you can edit it
Bro i really love the videos, i appreciate you sharing the knowledge, i subscribed and will follow you. Please share as much as you can on the MPC one, i need to learn this thing inside out.. 👍
Yes! Great! 💯 Good work! Appreciation sent your way! Liked and subscribed!
Love those vintage settings
Thank you for this great comparison Ave,
Would be funny if you just said “no” after your first sentence and that was the video 😂
Thank you for the video and the beat was bananas!
Thanks for the tunes and the knowledge
Using the modes in the effect chain for certain samples is the option I employ.
Dope video, thank you Ave! Will the vintage mode be applied to the tracks when exporting the stems or the Ableton Live set?
Yo I love the videos but can you please clean your lens or take off the blurry filter please .
Late to the party, but the beats still rockin, I liked the mpc 60 emulation
Boy I see that MiniMoog Clone manual you got on the side you ain't slick lmao 😂😂😂
I'm playing with it right now lol
@@AveMcree Can't wait to see a vid on it. Don't forget to be honest about it lol
MrDifferentTV awww man I will
Quick tip, when you are making a comparison, you shouldnt stop it first , change the setting, and then play again... just keep it playing and go on/off ;) other than that great stuff!
Yo Ave, I seen they made new releases of the SP1200 (by Rossum).
Is there any advantage of having one of them in the studio vs MPC Live 2?
I personally can't see any the Live 2 can do so many more things. Wondering your thoughts on this or please mention if anything comes to mind where the Rossum SP1200 would be better to have in the studio. If you copped one please make a video reviewing it. Thanks!
Also this company isla makes a machine called the s2400 it has the same sound as a sp1200 in an updated package and a few thousand dollars cheaper
@@francisard1488 yes! Thanks for mentioning that. I actually ended up going for an s2400 instead at that time and am really happy with it. It's got the sp1200 sound plus better tech for modern compatibility. Underrated machine no doubt.
i think the sp1220 ring would sound best if you put it on a send and had it at around 40% mix. would be cool if it just had a wet/dry mix on the legacy plugins. great vid tho!
There is an Air effect you can do this with, and adjust different parameters to your liking, like bit rate, sample rate, wet/dry. Way better than the legacy sampler effect imo
Yeah that definitely would be dope, there's a lo-fi plugin on the DAW I use Ableton Live which also doesn't have a wet/dry knob, that plugin isn't that great and it not having a wet/dry knob sucks, lucky I found out you can create a wet/dry knob yourself with any effects on ableton with a couple of routing steps, or you can also use a send/return track... but it would be a lot better if the plugin had a percentage wet/dry knob built in like you suggested and like many other plugins have.... I think they should add wet/dry knobs to every damn plugin for now on!
I like setting those dry/wet knobs to 50% on effects plugins like saturators, lo-fi emulators, compressors etc, etc, 50% is my favorite spot but sometimes I also use 25% or 75%, I only use those 3 percentage settings.
NEVER TALK BETWEEN SHOWIN SMTHN! NOONE CAN LISTEN AND HEAR THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MODES! thanks!
Fire 🔥 you just got a new subscriber
How did i miss this one dang dog nice job!
Found this out on my own, but what I want to know is how accurate I'd it?
Listening to the vintage mode none, 3000, 60 and SP1200 sound practically the same. The SP1200 ring mod sounds different. It was the same with the X when I listened to a comparison on another You Tube video. Personally my opinion is if you want the 3,000, 60 or SP1200 sound it's better to get the original machine and upgrade it's drive and memory. If you like the modern sound of MPC then getting a One makes sense.
Well it's harder to hear what the MPC 60 and 3000 does on that type of beat... I did a demo on one of my live streams on a phonk beat. You can hear a bit of difference on the higher frequencies. I believe the 3000 has that mono 16bit ad/da's.. The SP1200 none ring algo needs work though lol.
Actually the 60 mode bumps harder...definitely has more bottom (like tape bump). The 3000 mode has a subtle difference from the ‘none’ mode. The SP 1200 and Ring modes are definitely not the same as the 60 and 3000. The bit rate reduction is immediately apparent and sounds pretty dope on the right samples. I think Akai did a decent job emulating the older machines. Obviously not the same as the real deal, but they do the job as far as emulation goes!
@@theredfaceofficial No doubt
How the F do you figure this shit out .. You never seem to amaze me with the timing of your videos.. Thanks again..
having owned mpc 60, 3k and emu, it doesnt even sound close. old ensoniq eps12 bit crunch is the shit tho.
Them drums tho wooooooo weee gimme dem drums lol
stock drums in the mpc one
Ave Mcree I don’t have the mpc one I have the mpc studio black I’d be happy to pay you for those drums
@@tonybarber3535 well here you go www.loopmasters.com/genres/24-Hip-Hop/products/9733-Boom-Black/?a_aid=5aff606c9e208
Would you say the MPC One sounds good to your ears..in general? I was disappointed with a single stereo out when it came out..but Im actually considering it now. I was looking at the SP404 as it's cheaper but this just seems like more complete box and less of a head ache to actually get busy on. I love my maschine but I've been longing for some hardware for YEARS
Do you track your MPC one into your daw with the main outs to a interface, or just bounce to a usb and drag into your daw,, wich sounds better ? or could anyone else answer.
I'm doing a video on that soon
@@AveMcree ok
Cool 😎 video!
Can you demonstrate the xyfx on your demo lo-fi track for this video, especially the tape stop and some stuttering like on the sp 404 please.
Dope beats
Can you cover vintage mode feature in 16-bit output instead of standard 24-bit
did you mix the track on the mpc? that's a phat mix
I heard the difference In the sp 1200 ring
Great iamsight inspiration. Nice techniques
ummmm this feature was in the MPC 2000XL not to mention I showed this on my live stream week one...
@@AveMcree
I used an MPC 2000XL from 2000 to like 2008 and I don't remember it having an audio effect that emulated old vintage samplers, I even had that separate effects expansion, which had weak effects by the way.
Unless you're thinking of the "resampling" feature in the MPC2000XL which was not an effect you just added like in the new MPCs, I used to use that "resampling" feature all the time because I didn't like the clean sound of the MPC2000XL when I 1st got it, I wanted it it to sound like those fat & dirty sounding late 80's & early 90's samplers but it didn't... but yeah I used the "resampling" feature a lot in the beginning and that thing took FOREVER to cook, just like the "time stretch" feature would also take forever... I remember doing those 2 features to 4 bar sample loops would take like an hour or more, I would literally go eat, take a dump, shower, smoke a bowl or watch some tv and come back to the MPC when it was finally done cooking up the sample with those 2 features, then I could finally chop up the sample and start working on a beat, all that wasted time just to dirty up and time stretch a sample! lol
I eventually gave up on that slow ass "resampling" feature but unfortunately I still had to use the slow ass "time stretch" feature in almost every beat... so compared to those old days I love how nowadays we have DAWs like Ableton Live, MPC Beats and Serato Studio that have cool effects & time stretching that change the sound instantly!
I got back into making beats in 2019 with Ableton Live but I just downloaded the free MPC Beats software yesterday to check it out, that's why I'm watching these videos. :)
Hey man, i have a question. that Sp1200 ring plugin and the mpc3000 are native to the one? I Don't load anything.
I wish they would add a mpc2000xl vintage mode.
Yes, that would be amazing. You can send Akai a feature request. If they get enough feature requests they will implement it.
@@youtubewatcher2006 create a emulation with air air LoFi
That sp 1200 magic yall go on about isnt simply from the sample and bit rate that the sp records your sample at. That ENTIRE magic sound comes from us pitching samples up WAY too fast and then manually SLOWING them down in the sp to get around sample time. That is where ALL the artifacts come from, that magic sound you all want. Dudes cop a sp and just sample and dont get why their beats dont sound like flava in your ear. Well this is why. Go ahead and replicate that technique in the mpc one or live2, itl be damn close to the sp, much better than these plugins
Masta, that Sp1200 ring plugin and the mpc3000 are native to the one?
Hey Ave, How do I Go back to the Demo Screen on the mpc one??
On the top of the screen, click the folder button and click new project and it'll take you right back to the demo screen
Akais Sp1200 effect sounds nothing like a real sp1200.akai needs to allow lower sampling rates
Agreed!
But what if you create a sample already on one of the _Legacy_ modes, will it be like “imprinted” by its way to A->D?
Ave have you tried the humanize feature and if so is it any good ?
I'm editing that video right now
There’s a third way with the Lo-fi plugin
true it will get covered in my effects video.
These vintage modes are half baked. Bottom line is you can get dope lo fi sounds out of anything new with the right imagination and effects but they sound NOTHING like the sp1200, 60, s950 etc.
What I don't get is how someone like Low Hiss, with such limited resources, can nail down the sp1200 sound digitally FAR FAR better than Akai and Native Instruments can with their software. Like WTF?
Also I wouldn't even say the 3000 has a lo-fi sound, it's 16bit 44khz sampling rate... It's a pretty smooth sampler to me.
nice video as usual king+1
thank you
Is this on the mpc x too?
yes
@@AveMcree thanks bro
How do you export all the tracks individually with the sp1200 ring? Everytime I set it up then export it exports clean. It has the effect on when I export as a stereo wav. But not when I export all tracks individually
i think you’d have to place the SP1200 vintage mode on each pad for it to apply the effect when exporting as opposed to just leaving it on an entire program.
Wow you’re still here. So tell me sir effecttrix or Gross beat ¿?
Yeah I'm here still. They are 2 totally different beast tbh. Effectrix
Have the one mono tracks? if not crap for me...
If I am about to by a new MPC, I have a MPC 1000, do you recomend going with the One or the Live? And why? Thanks.
I love my mpc 1g.Every time I turn it on it brings out the creativity out of me.The deal breaker is those cheap ass buttons. The amount of times I have had to rig em or trade them out is ridiculous. Then there is the tact switches you have to solder. It's a imagination killer. If you feel you have to upgrade and want a new beast to master but you are on the fence like I was.If you have the money or can make payments like I do.Don't hesitate and grab the Live.I have been making beats since 88 and this thing checks off every box in my wishlist.Plus I don't use computers so for them to release a standalone was a godsend.Last but not least,it's pretty light,it looks slick and it has a rechargeable lithium ion battery if you need a change of scenery or you get a wild hair and want to make a joint in the middle of the woods.
what drum kit was used in the video
Does this exist in the mpc x or only the mpc one?
Also , can you cover sampling the Behringer model D and how to use the samples? Thanks
This is available on all the current MPC line up. The X, Live and the One!
The Redface Official thanks. I can’t wait
And even the mpc studio and Renaissance
👍🏾🔥👍🏾
should be 2000xl also but i think SP1200 have 2000xl "sound soul" you know what i mean :D hehe
It’s not audio digital converters it’s analog to digital converters. I know you know that proper terminology in the audio domain is a must.
You know how many people fuck up or don't know terms? Yet they manage to create some the best music people enjoy. Gtfo lol
How does the converters sound when you clip them
I was clipping them pretty hard lol... I pushed the drums up... Maybe I should of slammed it with a compressor.
Lol hell yea!!!! CMP is clipping tne mpc live and getting a Dammmmm good sound to. Keep up the good work man I really love your channel
