- In the next video I will show you how to make Sanding Belts yourself, it is very simple, easy and strong you can also make it in any size you need and with the help of easy to obtain raw materials you will find them in every store.
1. Take the desired size of the belt and add another 2 cm along the general length and then cut.
2. Mark the 2 cm and start scraping the glass layer out of the paper until you reach the silk felt.
3. Clean dust and grease well and glue both ends of the strip with high-quality fast glue.
4. Wait long enough for the glue to dry completely and it is possible to start using the belt.
It is important! At the stage where you scrape the glass layer out of the paper it is very important to remove the entire glass layer until you reach the silk felt, otherwise the adhesion will not be strong enough.
In the video I used starbond quick glue

You might want to cut your sandpaper on a bit of diagonal.
Also, there are some aggressive adhesive tapes available that you might want to try for connecting your ends, by applying the tape to the back of your sanding belt material.
Thanks. Super Simple and Short. ! Sweet.
thank you ❤️
1. Joint is done in the wrong direction with respect to the belt arrow. 2. Adhesive used may likely harden and will likely break off during rotating. 3. A right angle joint will cause a sudden raise on the belt causing a bump when sanding. 4. Hand pressing the belt together to form the joint is going to cause a large raise. 5. This belt is of fine girt, such joint when used on rougher grit will not last at all. Likely break off during the first few runs.
I have this idea in mind but I'm short supply, thanks for validating it! Cheers!
Thank you very much my friend
Good, thanks for sharing. Usually, the the contact area/surface has the shape of triangle to avoid all the attachment points of the contact place to face the material at the same time.
You're absolutely right, I know that too. In small belts diagonal cutting is not significant but in wider and longer straps a goat diagonal connection should definitely be made to distribute the load on the connection.
How long the belt last without separating on a high speed sander? It's always Way more destructive to one than pulling with hands cause it is bent right at the seam thousands of times circulating around the pulleys
Cool idea mate 👍🤩🍻

Why do you spoil your Videos with crap music, rather listen to the ambient noise?
