I purchased a box of 1 x 42 inch sanding belts at an auction for a couple of dollars. Apparently, they were pretty old because every one of them began breaking at the seam when I tried to use them. I tried every glue I had attempting to repair them. Nothing worked. Finally, I stuck a 1 x 6 inch strip of duct tape across the seam on the back of the belt, laid it on a marble slab that I have on my work bench and used a roller to make sure the seal was good. It worked like a charm.
Yes ducting tape is good in function But probably it might be fail on high speed or exceeding the pressure of workpiece. Please let check and tell me, I would like to know that.
@@ReformationWorkshop So far it has worked for me but you made a good point. I don't use a lot of pressure when using my 1 inch belt sander. I have a larger disc sander that will 'take a licking and keep on ticking'. I'm putting new tips on cue sticks, so there's very little pressure needed.
Seems simple enough after I've been driving and searching the internet for bonding tape that nobody seems to carry. This is at least proven to work. Thanks for the vid. Now off to make 50 mistakes trying to replicate a simple process. 🚶🚪🦕
Nota: epoxy glue in 24 hours is ready but the more time the better. I use to put it in the sun light for about one hour at noon. It helps a lot to cure the epoxy. Other is to use clear epoxy glue, it is more flexible when dry.
Great idea. I'm going to try this. Thank you for showing us how to do it.
I have many broken sanding belts to repair.
Thanks for feedback bro

@@RT-FordYou're right
Due to less surface area, less pressure will be required on sand belt.
