- hi there, this is my video on the motor medic flush for the 1997 through 2001 Toyota Camry with a 2.2L engine. These engines are very reliable, one of the best engines Toyota has built. Despite this, they have been notorious for oil sludge if they haven't been taken care of regularly. The back story on my car is, it basically sat for 7 years. it drove about 10k miles over 7 years, probably had a couple of conventional oil changes. It is a smooth car, but it just didn't seem as smooth as it could be. At rpms higher than 4k it just sounded loud and was extremely buzzy, it was also gutless above 4k rpm. The only way I could describe it is it sounded like it wasn't pumping enough oil, the noise of the engine, the performance and the buzzing lead me to this conclusion. I decided to run the motor medic through based on the great reviews online, I believe it's a kerosene based cleaner. I poured the whole quart of cleaner into the engine after removing a bit of oil, let it run from cold at the designated 5 minutes, then drained it. I followed this procedure with a 10 minute synthetic oil/marvel mystery oil flush to get rid of the kerosene, I put the rpms to 2.5k for about 3 minutes of the secondary flush. Marvel mystery oil is an oil additive/detergent that has great reviews, it is great for your use in your engine or gas, just follow the instructions on the bottle. It cleans and restores your engine. After the second flush, I finished with putting "Advanced" full synthetic oil, a OEM Toyota filter, STP High mileage oil treatment with stop leak (has high ratings and works well on high mileage cars), and a little bit of Marvel Mystery Oil. Driving it around after every I did, I immediately noticed a difference in noise, vibration harshness and power. It no longer sounds starved of oil, it no longer feels as gutless, and it doesn't vibrate like crazy at higher rpms and idle. All in all, the flush really helped my car. The plus to all of this, you could really see the dirt coming out in the oil post flush. I will be doing this again in 3k miles to see what else I can get, but this initial flush worked wonders! Thank you so much for watching! Let me know your experience with these additives, do you think they're snake oil? Or, do you have faith in the reviews? ☺️
