Sabbath's first six albums are absolute classic Golden standard.
Spot on. Those first 6 are untouchable.
In very early June 1970, I was in the U.S. Navy, serving on a Destroyer. The Ship's store was small so it was impossible to sell albums which would have taken up too much space. So only cassettes were sold. I asked the Storekeeper to see the rock cassettes. As I was going through them, I noticed this cover with what looked like a witch with the usual green face, in a garden full of dead trees and dead flowers, with a large home made of stone in the background. The name of the group was Black Sabbath. I said, “what the hell, I'll give it a try.” Well, when I placed the cassette into my cassette player and hit Play, let me tell you, I was immediately "Blown Away," and at the same time became an instant Black Sabbath fan. The guitar playing by Tommie Iommi, Geezer on Bass, Bill Ward on Drums, and of course OZZY was incredible to me. I had every Sabbath cassette, then bought albums when I was discharge from the Navy in 1973. I had every album up until Heaven and Hell. I’ve been to many rock concerts, how in the hell I never saw Sabbath live, is something I will never understand.
As a ten-year-old, this album scared the crap out of me when my older sister and her boyfriend played this. I was a fan ever since! Thanks for this!🤭🤭🤘🤘
Hell YEAH! Just reminded me how GOOD they were! Black Sabbath started my lifelong love of Metal thanks Guys
Amazing track from my favourite Sabbath album. Killing yourself to live, being my favourite. Nice one guys.
Dying just for you
Thanks guys. Another banger. Loved early Sabbath and Purple. Now it's Nightwish so can't wait.
Enjoy!
Gotta show this guy the rest and best of sabbath!! Would be great for us sabbath fans to witness
YES!!!!
Every time i see that album cover it reminds me of the first time i tried mushrooms in the late 70s .They are in my top 5 bands love me some Sabbath try Warning its one of there best songs
Hey Gentlemen! I sometimes cannot get enough of Ozzy, especially after the Black Sabbath period with Rhandy Roads as guitarist. You've got to take the song 'Diary of a Madman' written and syncopated in 7/8. Incredibly interesting / pure madness - there is so much in this song: Lyrics of Bob Daisley, Randy - one of the greatest and God only knows how great he would’ve become - on classical & electric guitar. Not only one musical genius taken from us way too soon, like Ronny James Dio. I really appreciate and enjoy the way you break down music along with the vocals. Your reactions and evaluations are always fun 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤘🤘🤘🤘. Randy's Magnum Opus. I cannot listen to his playing without tears. Please consider doing Ozzy's "Revelation Mother Earth" as well. You'll like Randy's work on that one, too, and the solo will blow you away! Take care y'all !!! Best from Germany, Gordon
just discovered your channel, and that might be the best intro I've ever seen! And I get the reference
Welcome I’m glad you like the intro! We love it! Thanks for joining us and hope you stick around. Have a great weekend
Ozzy had a great solo career after Sabbath. They also reunited at times and Ozzy wasn’t a shell of himself. The no shoes thing is in school Ozzy was so poor he often didn’t have shoes. Ozzy’s last solo album was only a couple years ago.
Love the intro.
Good Morning! Great track. Love Sabbath. 🤘
Thanks for listening
It is Louisa Livingston on the cover of the first album. I don't know the cat's name.
This track is... Just beyond so much! Good choice you lot overseas. And Ozzy sounds so good! Cor blimey what a song. Been listening to this since it was released and I'm still listening. But that bass... Life's good with that bass and a pint of red.
Early Black Sabbath are truly amazing.
Geezer Butler........so brilliant on bass!!
Epic
I still see the middle riff as the start of heavy metal, that riff is still shockingly heavy. And to put it in the timeframe when they came up with it and also manage to get that sound, is remarkable.
Ooh interesting observation. Need to go listen again. Thanks for the thought
One of the heaviest riff there even nowdays at least for me 🤘
Loved this one, brought back some nice memories, thanks guys! Another excellent track off this album is A National Acrobat. Rick Wakeman plays keyboards on the song Sabbra Cadabra. As for the weather forecast, I've driven through that area a few times, and it is quite shitty.
My favorite Sabbath album I sing in an Ozzy tribute band called Madhouse. trivia Rick Wakeman did all the keyboards. makes the song and the album.
Great history lesson!!
We did go on a bit in this video!
@@TheThamesmen all in good fun and educational
Hard to beat 70's Sabbath 🤘
It was their absolute heyday. Just brilliant
Hi guys, Great track to go with a great album. British metal is it.
None better!
@@TheThamesmenBeing an American most of my favorite rock bands are from the UK spanning many decades. Black Sabbath with Ozzy, being at or near the top is one of them. A lot of American and Canadian bands are great too. But one island nation putting out so many and the best, It is more than a strange occurrence. Protect your culture. It is precious. Once gone, it is gone forever. Ozzy had a great solo career, too.
Gotta do Into the void, one of sabbaths darkest riffs
My glorious introduction to the wonderful world of METAL - The Sabs are just virtually unbeatable. Such a awesome period with Deep Purple and then Iron Maiden. Must admit I am now a desperate NIGHTWISH fan.
That era was perfectly timed for our youth. It was an epic period
Yes! Sabbath... unique af. Still nothing compares to them after all this years.

At low tide, London, indeed, can get rather muddy as soon you step off the embankment. Had the pleasure to do that once, guided though.
Oh, could you turn your attention to the latest Star One album? One of the project of Arjen Lucassen, some of the guests he invited to play on that record might get your knickers in a twist. Visit Arjen Lucassen's youtube channel and be amazed. Oh, Brittney Slayes is one of one of them.
i love your channel, you guys should do more queen!
Thank you and you are right!
Paranoid is one of their best, but I've always liked Vol IV and Sabotage more.
That isn’t Ozzie in front of the Old Mill. It’s a model, lady- professional picture getting taken person. Does look like Ozzie.
Gee, go and listen to the first 5 Sabbath albums, it's a true journey and they, like the Kinks, have influenced so much music, and it's not just metal or rock. The recording of this album had Led Zeppelin drop in and an improvised jam session between the two bands was apparently taped but never released! Truly if you don't know Sabbath well, take the time to learn them, it's well worthwhile. Another fine video, more please!
Because it can't be plugged enough, Charles Bradley's cover of Changes, live at KEXP ruclips.net/video/z8qTC47S8Fw/видео.html
no it was informative and funny
I told my gf I wanted Heaven and Hell from Black sabbath as my wedding song or nothing . She said no lol
Worth asking at least! Good for you
While you were taking a dose of MDMA mixed with smack and acid. Then we were forced to listen to this song 🤣
Gosh, weatherman Danny Galaxy must believe that "any publicity is good publicity" lol; probably a few of his audience didn't like being reminded that they chose to live in whatever wasteland they call home. Hope the FCC doesn't take notice!
The is the angriest song in rock history
Oh interesting comment. Need to listen again and think in that context. Thanks for the support
Never really got into sabbath but listening to this track musically it's up there for the period, but ozzy was a banger, complete banger for me not to my taste. Just my opinion guy's.
Black Sabbath is black Sabbath but must admit this is not my favorite track. Not sure why just doesn't have the bite of/sound I expect from Sabbath. Wouldn"t turn it off but wouldn't go to it first as my choice.
