Believe it or not I could sense some tension in the crowd leading up to it that some people were starting to walk out (I guess they were expecting him to perform the songs just as they had been recorded) maybe Bob sensed it too, because he broke out into like a rolling Stone and people immediately sat back down. For me the lyrics are more important to the delivery with dylan. 10 years ago when I didn't know who he was, if I heard this I would say it's just some dazed old coot rambling along with elevator music. But as a fan, familiar with bobs stories and his style, all I want to do is watch him tell me the story however he wants; even with no music at all. This one is definitely like the version of the song that I heard when he played it at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater when I saw him on Saturday October 20th 2018. Believe it or not I could sense some tension in the crowd leading up to it that some people were starting to walk out (I guess they were expecting him to perform the songs just as they had been recorded) maybe Bob sensed it too, because he broke out into like a rolling Stone and people immediately sat back down. For me it was an incredible night getting to see the man who through his own voice and music encouraged me to start singing and playing the harmonica as well as writing my own songs. Thank you Bob and wherever you are, I hope you are doing well and you are happy!
They weren’t strict about cameras??
why there are so many bots here with virtually the same comments?
Thank you so much for this gem !!
Have any other video of the same gig ?
There will be a couple more ...
No more please....horrendous
He is a doll. I claim him for my very own Doll Baby. ❤😂❤
His voice has completely gone.
Has his voice ever been good tho?
@@cv-bo5to Listen to Like A Rolling Stone, Knockin On Heavens Door. I'd say he had a good voice, especially for his style. If you compare back then to now, forget about it.
lumbago h listen to the live black and white version on here of mr tambourine man live he sounds very good
Well he does sound better Anthony Kedis.
It's been gone for 40 years
Bob Dylan sounds exactly like he did 172 years ago.
He's finally old enough to run for president.
As much as I love Dylan and his work, and I promise you he is such a great artistically inspiration for me, this live performance isn’t great/good. No matter your influence you have to deliver for what the crowd has paid for, if you can’t then you should pull the plug in time. To be harsh...Knowing that a lot of people will hate me for this...This crowd is only happy because of the fact that they are watching Bob Dylan live more then they are enjoying/appreciating the music, simple because the music is close to being “unenjoyable/unappreciable”. I mean this is the greatest respect for his art, but this performance from a musical state is bad. Excuse me for my English.
Righteously stated Daniel. When considered how close Bob is to the great party in the afterlife...
Hell he's just a warmin' up for all those great past artists already awaiting him; whilst he's thumbing his nose to those artists left behind in fear of following suit. Meanwhile...

He's the only artist I've ever felt that way about.
I love him at the very end!
I honestly think he's just taking the piss
He doesn't care and thats why we love him. King of rock and roll . True Legend 💯
I like this version quite a bit. A friend pointed out to me that his speaking rhythm sounds a lot like William Shatner nowadays, can't unhear that now. Still cool af.
Channelling Tom Waits and Scooby Doo? Kudos to the pedal steel (?) player behind him who must be thinking "now what?" I love this version. Bob gives 0 effs.
Thanks Bob, it was a great performance. Your charm is outstanding. I love you just as much now, as i always have. You hit my soul every time, when u sing. You seems to enjoy, performing, your smiling face
Makes me feel good. ♥️♥️♥️🙏🏼
Listen up ~ in my view ~ Bob is sooo iconic ~ he could read his word/poetry with melodies in background ~ And i would not care ~ he is a legend ~ just seeing him was great ~ a couple years ago ~ i said to myself ~ " the things this individual was a part of or next to ~ in so much world culture, is earth rattling ~ from the beatles to johny cash.....Dylan can just stand there, and i would love it, just millions of others would agree ! He's a christian and a living legend. God bless Dylan !!
he has lost his voice like so many singers with age and now performing his song differently. lesson of life
Bob Dylan never could sing. His song were about the lyrics
He hasn’t lost his voice. He’s doing it on purpose.
I saw Bob Dylan last month and he was amazing. How did they let you film this
Wow, I'm not sure I've seen a higher rate of SPM from Bob in a long time (smiles per minute). He was even enunciating!
Seeing this man for the first time. Is he good?
Ok but why are there so many comments on this video saying the same thing
it feel lousy to be hungry and homeless but i am to proud to admit if you have nothing you have nothing to lose
Why are so many of these comments copied and pasted?
Quite possibly the best songwriter the world has ever seen - and quite possibly the worst performer the world has ever seen.
Every single song he ever wrote has been done better by other people
Congratulations to those who could tick the box of having seen him. That's probably all you can take away from this experience.
The original recording of Like A Rolling Stone has NEVER been bettered. He seems to take a delight here in screwing up the greatest song ever written.
Name better versions of his early songs before going Electric
My new favourite live performance
what can you say...its Bob Dylan...can do no wrong....true artist of highest order...even at 79....amazing.....get thru covid listening to him...
Aw that's good to hear
Who complains about his singing think about him as a pop star.
Pop stars would sing properly and Bob Dylan isn't one of them.
I love him and this song but this is kind of sad.
Just got tickets for this legend in liverpool yes obviously not sounding great but just to be in the room with this man will be enough
Are people paying to see this?
Joy Baszucki as I lifelong Dylan fan I wouldn't pay a penny to see him live now, !
@@MrGuitarbiker
cuz ur dumb, going to bob concert isn’t just to have fun listening to his music 😑😑
It makes me sad when i see bob in this condition
Saw him twice. 2006 was pretty good. 2011 wasn’t great. I read where he always rearranges his songs because he gets tired of playing them the same way. Which is fine. He will be finishing up a song before you realize what it is.
why there are so many bots here with same comments? Who are these idiots? Is this how the channel owner makes his views on RUclips?
For h….. Dylan☺️
Take peace with you home🥰
and stay grandfarther only🥰
It may not be a great version but seeing him smile at times here makes up for it. Rock on Bob!
No matter how sing, I settle for just watching it live, Bob Dylan is everything, a great genius.
Great version
not sure, is that actually signing?
I do not understand those negative posts from people like Helena the slug and some others. Why watching music you didn't like on RUclips?
For example, I'm not a fan of Madonna, but I'm not going to watch her music videos and writing negative reactions on it. I just don't care. And I've got better things to do; listening to Bob, or go to his shows for example :) Nice video btw, thanks.
Wonderful Performance
🎼🎶⭐️
A force of nature; if there’s vacuum he’s going to fill it!
That was awesome!!!
The best version of this Song.
Perfect modern Art.
A genius!
lol
Eterno Dylan!!
Bob Dylan que grande!!!!
oh you sweet old dude love u so much sing for me i am your song and you are poet of my soul yeah
Genius!
Unique !!!!🎸🎸🎸🎸🎶🎶🎶❤️❤️❤️
Shit pure and simple
This is the most engaged, wonderful version of this song! Dylan scores again! :)
This like the You Know My Name Look Up the Number version of Like a Rolling Stone
Everyone in the band has to watch Bob VERY closely to see what he is doing at all times!!
Once upon a time you dressed so fine
Threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you?
People call say 'beware doll, you're bound to fall'
You thought they were all kidding you
You used to laugh about
Everybody that was hanging out
Now you don't talk so loud
Now you don't seem so proud
About having to be scrounging your next meal
How does it feel, how does it feel?
To be without a home
Like a complete unknown, like a rolling stone
Ahh you've gone to the finest schools, alright Miss Lonely
But you know you only used to get juiced in it
Nobody's ever taught you how to live out on the street
And now you're gonna have to get used to it
You say you never compromise
With the mystery tramp, but now you realize
He's not selling any alibis
As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes
And say do you want to make a deal?
How does it feel, how does it feel?
To be on your own, with no direction home
A complete unknown, like a rolling stone
Ah you never turned around to see the frowns
On the jugglers and the clowns when they all did tricks for you
You never understood that it ain't no good
You shouldn't let other people get your kicks for you
You used to ride on a chrome horse with your diplomat
Who carried on his shoulder a Siamese cat
Ain't it hard when you discovered that
He really wasn't where it's at
After he took from you everything he could steal
How does it feel, how does it feel?
To have on your own, with no direction home
Like a complete unknown, like a rolling stone
Ahh princess on a steeple and all the pretty people
They're all drinking, thinking that they've got it made
Exchanging all precious gifts
But you better take your diamond ring, you better pawn it babe
You used to be so amused
At Napoleon in rags and the language that he used
Go to him he calls you, you can't refuse
When you ain't got nothing, you got nothing to lose
You're invisible now, you've got no secrets to conceal
How does it feel, ah how does it feel?
To be on your own, with no direction home
Like a complete unknown, like a rolling stone
Are you always in a good mood Amund?
This is the sound of coasting on a legacy.
An amazing new arrangement of a classic song. Thanks, Bob.
Ruh-roh! We're all out of Scooby snacks
Is he smiling or not?
Quite a bit, I'd say.
No, it's just one of the weird facial expressions he likes to adopt. Bob is not a smiley person on stage.
No it's a facial tick, he's had it for years, all the dumb fans think he's smiling...Dylan never smiles period.
Is there a pro audio recording or studio version of this song?
There's quite a famous one released in 1965
@@raleghlong Oh really? Never heard it before... No, I want to hear a studio version of him preforming the song like he did in this concert.
