The old and Busted Intercoolers get replaced with a fancy new HKS Front mount intercooler system. The new system looks the part but does it help the car make more power! Will it overheat the water system? How many beers will this job entail?! What will we break today?!

As mentioned on your last video...still my favorite fmic! Looks amazing!!! Glad you got her running. If you want to use the oem front you have to cut some of the inside to fit. Otherwise drill and thread some holes into the crash bar and assemble it on there. Besides that congrats brother! Making me want another Z
I just got a Z32 myself. It’s yellow pearl glow. non turbo but I still love it and it’s only got 97000 miles. Pretty good for almost 30 years old. Keep up the good work! Cheers 🍻🍻

that undertray is it important it is an air guide which helps to force the air that does make it through the intercooler through the radiator instead of following the path of least resistance which would be underneath the car seeing how the car is designed to have negative air pressure under the car to help it suck down to the road for better traction it becomes the path of least resistance and most of that air that goes through your intercooler will end up going under the car instead of through the radiator so having that tray underneath the intercooler attached to the bumper and the radiator support is essential for proper air flow to your radiator and oil cooler
If it was so important, then it shouldn't have been so easy to remove... or... maybe, we will replace it something else in the near future.

Its possible to fit a factory bumper over an hks fmic by mounting it backwards. I have an unmodified 99 spec bumper on my 94 with that intercooler

Not gonna lie, I am so happy it's about a million times easier to remove the front bar on the GT86. Fuck me, don't think I'd be bothered to have done me mad cold air intake and oil cooler if it was this much of a dick to remove the front bar! Loving the show.

Intercooler looks ace! I fucked off most of the stuff from my s14 when i put my intercooler on. Andnyour right to many useless brackets on Nissans! My rb25 was riddles with the fuckers! 😂

Gday Jeri! We havent looked at that yet. But at some stage we might run into a problem of air deliverly and have to increase the pipe sizes.
We picked up the HKS kit from a viewer for $100 so yeah... didnt even look at larger side mounts.

A company called kbd makes a flex poly version of the greddy front bar. It's low cost and the fitment is really good. I have it on my zed.

As a Z32 owner I can relate to the pain and frustration of working on this car. These videos speak to me on an almost spiritual level.
Yes, the Matrix movie wanted to include a 300zx instead of the Red Pill to show how brutal the real world is due to the machine, but could not due to contractual obligations with GM.
Certainly come a fair way since the old Street Commodore Calais days.

Yes put screws back in the hole. and for the love of god take the front wheels off for access to those bolts at the back of the bar. Greater volume of the intercolers will increase the delay for boost... technically not lag...
