What usually causes scuffed eyebones: the VRC avatar descriptor assumes the eyebones will be oriented vertically, so if they're pointing forward like how most modelers do it, they'll be rotated the wrong way by default (pointing upwards). It's easy to fix in Unity, usually just requires adding a 90 degree angle to the look angles, but if you're making a model yourself you may want the eyes bones to be rotated straight up with no roll just to speed up this step.
My absolute favorite VRChat tutorial maker out there! You make things so incredibly simple and easy to follow. Thank you for what you do!
Thank you for the timely modern tutorial on setting up an avatar from scratch! I'm a few days from finishing a total mesh and texture rebuild of my avatar and I'll be stepping into Unity with a fresh project after that. This couldn't have come at a better time!
Thanks for making it easier for newer users to upload avatars!
if you figured it out can you please tell me what he does because im 100% lost
Iv played since 2018 this is gonna be my first avi lol
@@canaanbertrand3002all you have to do is follow the stuff he's doing!

We love Sippers
True
I love the quick and simple way you show how to do stuff! Can I expect a guide to retexturing avatars? :)
OMG Thank you so much ive needed help with this so bad!
Finally thank you so much 🥺
thank you so much for knowing what your talking about and not having awful mic etiquette, all the other tutorials are so infuriating to follow
Best tutorial ever! Thank you so much
bless you sippbox you always make the best tutorials
THIS PERSON IS SO AWESOME
thank you buddy
GOD thank you! No unnecessary uhms, pauses, tangents or segues. I know it's a simple matter of presentation, but this will be the video I send to people who aren't confident enough to upload their own avi.
Sipp you are a legend
Your tutorials are awesome!!!
Thanks for this as always
Thanks again!
3:38 You should also ensure that the Left and Right eye bones are correctly mapped in the humanoid configuration, as by default, Unity may have mapped them incorrectly.
However, it is not necessary to map them in the humanoid configuration as VRChat handles simulated eye look and tracking through the VRCAvatarDescriptor component. Mapping the bones in the humanoid configuration does allow for humanoid animations to control the eyes, but can also cause unintended eye movements while playing other animations, such as custom locomotion animations or idles.
For most, unmapping the eye bones is a quick fix for these unintended eye movements, but if you do want your eyes to move while playing animations (like in an MMD dance world), you may want to make sure the humanoid animations on your avatar don't erroneously animate the eyes in unintended ways.
I’m so glad there’s more professional tutorial resources now.
No ums or unnecessary commentary. Clean cuts and clips only.
Love the Bonelab music in the background!! :D
great video!
I CAN FINALLY DO MODELS NOW. THANK YOU SIPP!!!
if you figured it out can you please tell me what to do, this video hasnt helped me at all
Thank you
Subscribed and it worked😮
So off topic, but the way the subscribe button lit up when you said "itll take a hot minute so to speed up the process hit that subscribe button" was so cool

hey sorry if you have done it can you help me pls
For those who keep getting stuck on the downloading the recommended version of unity one thing that fixed it for me was going into your UAC ( user account control settings
) then turning the bar all the way up to "Always notify" Then restart your computer and try it again and you should see it actually start to download. Hope this helps!
Making my first Avatar now thanks to you \\m//,,

Thank you, there is NO reason why there are 10min plus tutorials on this very simple process
Can you please make a video on how to design an avatar and rig in using Blender or other software ?
thnkk youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
Its telling me I don't have a license or something wth does that mean?
How do you get an avatar from vrchat into unity, for example I have a commission avatar that I wanna update how would I go about to porting it
if i ever use it ill follow this - untill then im happy copy pasting my already fully setup package. the CC wastes alot of time with constant recreation of a standard setup an didnt like adding other stuff with the PLUS function.
more ram downloaded. letsgooo
"vrc avatar descriptor" not there. theres a lot of other vrc scripts but not that one. ive definitely got the avatar sdk so i dont know whats wrong.
Damn I need to pay money to use Unity hub, Nevermind I’ll figure out a different way to do it
Does any feature I add work on quest? What can and can’t quest users see? Also where would I find my avatar in game?
How do you select a new shader to use for the materials? Thanks!
That was so simple omg thank you
I have the same MameHinata model but i don’t know how to add it’s custom animations/gestures
Can you do this with oculus? Also is vrchat on there? I'm thinking of getting one
I keep having the problem of the head bone not being recogniced in the rig settings
hey im trying to find the avatar in my avatars folder, i see you have a folder that says uploaded when you are in game, yet i cant find a file like this or the avatar that i uploaded to vrchat anywhere, is there a way you could explain why im not seeing the avatar i uploaded? i hope you see this message because i am genuinely lost lol
I downloaded everything I need for this but my unity version 2022.3.22f1 isn't downloading for me.
It keeps saying there is no space even if I have 200 plus gigs available in my storage.
is there anyway I can fix this.
If so plz let me know i really need the help this is all new to me as well.
Also thanks for the help setting it up you explained is very well much appreciated.
My initial upload was a success, however I noticed my avatar was much too small. When I tried to scale, move the camera view, and reupload, the camera view in game is now always on the floor. I'm stuck in between my characters legs! How can I fix this? Or what is the problem?
You cant stop me now from making funny Austrian Painter
I thought VRChat wasnt real
What does that even mean
Ngl same
Vrchat is basically the roblox of steam, quest 2 or pc and it fun but watch out for racist 7 year olds.
Watch out? Thats the best part@@Xeno-Vr
@@galewindx I can agree messing with them to make them rage >:3
I can't upload my avatar because the folder is not the right one does someone know to set the folder location to default for the project?
Could you do Vroid Studio Avatar for VRC?
do you need to buy a license or is the free one ok? I have a prefab body i bought and the shader but when i do the unity instal on CC it goes through the 1st loading bar and then just sits there loading on the next bar. It does say it can take a while but 15+ minutes to install seems a bit excessive to me. Am i wrong and just need to be patient or is there something im missing here?
I want to make a avatar but idk how to make a good one that looks good its call Combine elite ultra its not cannon of the half life I think.
How do you make it Quest compatible?
For some reason, I cannot log in to vrchat from the unity even though my password and other things work fine outside of it. It just says incorrect password. Now I know I have a problem instead of guessing I had one. Thanks.
When I was uploading my avatar and used it it said that it was pc only how did I miss a part to make it cross platform or is there a way I can make it for quest
So I'm also confused what do I do with those silver ball texture and the the two other ones where do I place it
What's the name of that kind of model with the big eyes and the chibi frame like what's used here? Been looking for a model like this for myself but I don't know what it's called.
Guys remember to click on the legally binding checkbox
does anyone know how to make the animations that come with my model appear in vr chat? The file with my model in it comes with animations but when i use the model in vrchat i cant find the included animations. Help dearly appreciated
Hey ive downloaded correct unity version (from unity website) and creatorcompanion (from VRchat) and they both run, BUT creator companion says it cant find unity and wants me to install it. if i say ive already installed it and try to open(show) it via the .exe it says doesnt work (it says: Failed to load settings! Please fix or delete your settings file at "C:....\VRChatCreatorCompanion\settings.json". Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Users\.....\Local\VRChatCreatorCompanion\Repos'.) . sometimes it says i need to delete the .jyson folder - i deleted it but it still doesnt work.
What do i need to do?
i wanted upload a new avatar for VRchat so need this creator companion in my unite to do so.
thank you!
The materials arent errors for me but they are completly blank and it doesnt matter what shader i put in... what should i do?
You did a cut at 2:03 and idk what to do bc i can't get that menu to pop up at all and now I'm stuck
My facial expressions dont work or lip syncing in vrchat, any solution? i made sure to do the corresponding emotions in unity
Can I upload from Mac? Thanks for tut🤍
I recently tried out the game, and I thought making some sort of avatar would be a fun way to finally get into 3d modeling. What software do you recommend learning for this tutorial?
Hello there
Do I need to make the thing humanoid if my avatar is a blob?
How do i add clothes that they give me when i brought my avatar to i can see all them in game?
I have a blender model but i don't know how to put the textures on the model, on blender they are on the model automatically but on the unity editor they are not
Having problems importing the sdk it comes up with 2 errors after clicking import about mesh and other things
what do i do if the model i buy off booth has over 1k errors that wont let me build and publish it?
a bit of an old video and im not expecting a quick answer, but my avatar is saying it has no animator, how do i fix this?
Im having issues loggign into the SDK because i use my Steam account to log into VRC
I need help I got everything I need it says you do the editor cannot be found when I know I installed it and it tells me to look for the file but I never made a file for unity editor can you help me
i did what you told me but whenever my VCC is done downloading, it doesnt automatically open or just open in general, ive tried clicking on it and everything, is there a way to solve this?
it says the download fails for me in vcc when I try to download unity 2019 from it, I am downloading unity 2019 from the archives and will edit this with the result.
Edit: It works with manually downloading the archived version.
Do you know why when VCC is downloading unity it keeps restarting the download like the blue bar keeps going back and restarting?
I followed everything but my build and publish button is grayed out, how do I fix this?
An avatar for me isnt showing up pink but instead black/gray not sure what i need to do for the shaders
How do I grab the view point ball
so a problem i'm having (just downloaded everything and haven't even gotten through my first skin creation) is that the component avatar descriptor doesn't pop up at all, is there something else i need to download or is it a problem that i'd need to redownload everything again?
Did you figure this out? I'm having the same problem
Is a pc required, or can I do this on mobile?
