great reference vid, love me some 77. A little trick when case matching... Instead of using a marker, cover the face with blue painters tape, then with your gasket and exacto, cut out the tape where you are removing material. It makes a much sharper line, and when your bit hits the tape, it will fluff up a little and you can clearly see you are at your edge.
I think the direction of the seal on the main gear is wrong. the green side should be on the outside, sealing it off and keeping the dirt out. I never saw one puch maxi moped with the seal on the main gear installed in the way this video shows. And doesn't the brass spacers get stuck due to the heat? That's so far the only notice. I believe the rest is all done in the correct way.
No. That is how they come from the factory. .......but these are dual spring seals so it shouldn't matter. I put 8 of those brass spacers on and it did get stuck, I got it off with a rubber mallet. The MLM SPACE SAVER studs are awesome on a Polini but they are too wide for a Gila :).
I used porting wax for my carbide cutters keep them clean you don't lose your indication mark like W40 can wash it away.... WD40 on the stones keeps them clean
Hi there... I have a puch maxi and the bearings just failed so I'm hopefully am going to rebuild the motor... How much money (dollars) is it to get new seals and bearings for the whole e50 motor
@1977mopeds I use same method to fit main bearings but the pro's say to use a device to push them on. also its good to match the transfer part of cases so that they line up with crank webs so that there is a smooth passage if that makes sense?
reeed valve but only 4 transfers, why not have boost ports above reed valve? and the tiny holes in the piston to feed crank case, could be bigger or cut a slot down cylinder? Interesting little engine though.
@maxmojo2 ops.. ha-hem :-) Gilardoni makes only cylinders .. Btw, i like this old 2 strokes engines, even if is austrian ahah and the international passion for mechanic and music.
Beautiful porting. I did mine today after seeing this video, it's not so tidy, but have another 4 engines to practice the art on.
❤ love the music with it. Made it so easy to watch

Thanks for the info.I really enjoy your videos.
bel lavoro !! ai miei tempi solo modifiche sui pezzi originali....aparte gli ultimi periodi dal 1983 in avanti che sono arrivati i Malossi 65cc ;-)
how do you close that hole you make in the port of the case?
Спасибо! Очень хорошее видео!
Sure do. Check out our WSL pipe, and some of the kits we offer.
@pacetanner We will be doing more in the future. Motobecane is on the list! Thanks for the support!

No polishing?? Still seems rough. Missing the first startup in the vid!? :-(
clean work. i go way bigger on those!
how did you "flat out" the weldings?
got any great videos on tuning the m48 as used in the ariel 3 and batavus bikes?
Then what should you use?
Looks good! :)
When i were you i shouldn't polish the portings. When you don't you'll get a better flow
This is a good video!
Hey dudes,I just subscribed. Im a collector and just bought two 1982 honda urban express deluxe nu50m.you got after market parts for those?
?? is the cylinderhead turnd 90 degre ??
from where you have these bushes on the stud
What clutch is tht? Would you recommend tht clutch on a 70cc kstar build e50?
what happens if I don't grind the case?
Schönes Video aber paar Fehler und fragwürdige Entscheidungen beim Zusammenbau...
PS.: viel Glück mit der Kurbelwelle bei dem Zylinder xD
Is porting necessary? Or no
cool video I am building an av7 any chance you guys will be doing a video of one of these? ps i got my kit from you!
@wildwespocketbike They are on order with Italkit. Just waiting for them to come in.
Dan
now start doing this kind of videos with all kinds of zündapp and kreidler engines!
is there any chanse on doing a tomos a35 engine?
nice
is it necessary to weld the case @1977mopeds?
If you are installing a Gila, or a Metrakit, yes.
Ok, thanks for the info!
Do you add material to the case? I thought gila e50s needed material added?
@maxmojo2 ops.. ha-hem :-)
Gilardoni makes only cylinders .. Btw, i like this old 2 strokes engines, even if is austrian ahah and the international passion for mechanic and music.
i wanted you guys to do the welding and bore i was not going to send my case to someone that not answser
plz do this on Kreidler engines, much more HP with SB cilinders
@ECSuspect Great tip!
how much does this cost?
230 for the kit about 100 $ to bore and welding cases without shipping to and from. Likely 450ish.
Leave a message, and we will give you call back. Thanks!
More info on welding the case? Materials etc.
think this will work on a jawa 207
@nicodanger13 AUSTRIAN* Engine.
This video missed the most needed to be seen step of boring the case to fit the wider jug.
Mike S ....a flap wheel dremel or drill bit works well.
I am not sure if we got the message. Call 1.888.743.1977, I would love to hear from you.
This video changed my life 😳 delete that meaningless crap
