you can use the stock hub on the big flyer, all you have to do is flip the wheel around and take your freewheel off, screw on your rotor adapter and buy a 15t freewheel for the smaller threaded side and boom, way cheaper and still compatible. thats what I did
@@saucyislife3494Yea bro I did the same on my big flyer take ur wheel off and take the freewheel off use the other threaded side and put a 15t freewheel since that’s the only one that fits on there then you put everything else on and boom disc brakes make sure you but a 44mm brake disc adapter
I did this conversion and if you look up an adapter for the small side of the flip flop hub there is a guy on ebay that sells one that works for the small side of the hub so you dont have to buy a new hub
Why didnt you just get a new freewheel (m30) like a 15T so that you could free up the larger thread side of the flip flop hub and use the adapter on that side?!?!?! nobody suggested you do this?!?!?! okay i just got deeper into your video.. finally you learned. I cant believe nobody told you this.. also the whole bike is a fixed gear bike,,, this just means its 1 single speed.. the reason there are 2 different sizes is the small side fits either a 13/14 or 15t free wheel while the larger side fits a 16/17/18t freewheel... you could have simply spent 30 bucks on a 15t freewheel and been good to go!!! Oh well you now have a bad ass hub on a bad ass bike!
thanks for the input but if i had simply flipped the hub and used the larger threads for the 6 bolt brake adapter i would’ve had to convert the bike to fixed gear because that’s what the smaller side’s threads are made for and i wanted to have a freewheel on it. i couldn’t find any freewheels that fit the smaller threads. it turned out great with the new hub anyway and i love it!
@@vitogianellodoes your bike have a shifter and shift gears like a mountain bike does? If it doesn’t that means it’s already a single speed bike aka FIXED GEAR. @@vitogianelloalso 13/14/15t freewheels exist and they are a dime a dozen (for the small side) what do you think fixed gear means? I have to know what they told you bro!!!
Fixed gear isn’t the same as single speed. You can have one gear and be able to freewheel or you can have one gear that’s fixed… meaning if you pedal backwards the wheel rotates backwards.
@@jamest4016 Yeah words mixed up. either way, you can install a freewheel on the big side or the smaller m30 side. thats the point. whoever told this dude his bike would have to be fixed gear is a fkn clown and if it was a shop they are trash for lying like that to make a sale. Especially with the SE Bikes ppl convert them to disc every day... while keeping a freewheel installed.
Did u experience chain creaking sound on the BOX hub? FYI you should've gotten a BOX adapter- I'm using the BOX hub and adapter on my big flyer- the wheel will not be shifted right like the Stacked BMX adapter
Threaded hub? You mean a "Flip Flop" hub? It's because you need to put on a 15t or less freewheel because it's made for the other side of the hub.. you were lied to...
Why go through all this when Magura hydraulic V brakes exist. They're just as strong as disc brakes and a lot safer than running a bunch of adapters to make something work

Yo, So you mean i can use the stock hub and just buy a new freewheel?
Along with all of the other parts needed for the conversion?

does a 180mm disc work for big flyer aswell as that stacked adapter or is there another adapter you used?
Which 15 ft free wheel did you buy?
Do you need the hydraulic disk brake adapter To have a successful conversion?

Water bottle bolts can fill the holes for your old brake mounts and be flush with your frame 😊
Is there a cheaper version of the stacked bmx adapter
Yes it’s on amazon
Yes on Amazon for like 10$

180 is better

do you have any info about that adapter? i’m curious to see what it would look like. i couldn’t find one anywhere
Ya it looks like the adapter you got but it’s a 30mm inner diameter with the same 44mm holes you have a email I can send you the infor
This is where I got it from

Easier way to do this is to order a se wheelset that already has the six bolt of ebay. And you wont be using adapters

exactly and ppl that have been flipping the stock rim have had issues with rotor coming loose
