Having been on your Marquesa….. she runs fantastic..as you know I went to Mercury also… nothing but good things to say …all good things to you CA…hope Looziana is being good to you….aloha
Curious if you considered the Yamaha sho 115 I’m re powering my 18ft Kenner and it’s really between these two outboards, with me leaning more towards the Merc.
looks awesome CA i grew up with merc's in south fla and the key's had a 20hp on my sillinger 12ft inflatable a 150 on my shipoke 18ft a 50 on my 15ft boston whaler never any problems i was on top of the maintnance back then that was my formula
The 2006 115 Mercury Optimax on my 17 foot Ranger bass boat finally bit the dust. I am dropping the boat off Monday to get a 115 Pro XS installed. I was really surprised to see how much lighter the new motor is than my old two stroke. I have what appears to be the same prop as you. I feel better about the odds of it working well on this motor.
Does your model have the command thrust option. Im looking to repower my 17 Maverick MA with this motor. Ive been warned about chine walk potential with this Mercury model and the command thrust option.
@@SaltySeaCaptain I'm not criticizing. Just don't go from one motor brand to another motor brand and tell me that you did it because it's the greatest motor on earth. You did it because you got paid to do it.
Flats Class does not have a Mercury sponsorship, I’m just using what I felt would be best based on recommendations and specs that would fit my Hells Bay best.

I just put a 2022 150 ProXS on my 189 Egret. I love it! I've only got 28 hrs on it so far.

I have this motor on my Crestliner 16 ft boat. At 18 ft I would definitely be looking at the 150 pro xs.
What is the tank capacity, and what range can you get on your boat ?

sure miss john-rude...grew up on omc outboards
I put one on my 01 BW Montauk17 and its awesome 👌 I love it..great little motor...
What speed did you see at cruise and top end? Im looking at putting one on my 03' 170 Montauk.
Love your videos!
Is that pro xs a command thrust gear case? Or standard?
Great video! I just bought the pro Xs 150 for my 18'8" bass boat. Hope I love it as well😊
What size prop came with it??
Is that the SpitFire you are running? What pitch? I have a 17p and can only get 5700 max rpm. Might drop to a 15p.
He says 12.7" diameter and 19 pitch. I wanted to know if its a mercury spitfire or not. I've got a 17 Pitch spitfire aluminum on my 115.
What make and model prop?
Is there a reason you have the motor mounted in the lowest possible position? Have you experimented with higher positions?
I get the best performance on that lower position believe it or not
@@flatsclasscharters I can’t trim up as much as I want on plane and really plow water. Do you have the same issue? I might change holes as well
What brand is the propeller?
Of course it's the perfect complement they are sponsoring you.
It costs money to make and put these videos on RUclips so that we can watch them for free, right? You do understand that, don't you?

Actually Greg I bought that Merc... I have no relationship with any motor brand for myself or #FlatsClassTV
I did some research on that motor and it is top rated weather he is sponsored or not! Go “Troll” somewhere else Greg….
Thanks CA. Nice video brother.
