Hey! Guess what. You're Awesome and thanks for watching. I promise this is the best DND tutorial based on a 30 year old Jeff Foxworthy joke you'll ever see. Stick around for more and vote in the comments for which subclass you'd like to next.
Twilight cleric is my name, being truly ambivalent is my game. But for real I am looking for a new game just to play this subclass. It's just that much fun. Hope you guys like the video and if you share it with your friends please! Thanks everybody!

Oath of Glory Paladin: "Finally a worthy opponent! Our battle will be legendary!"
The subclass where you keep demanding the DM calculates the sun position.
sun position i dont use in my character, its moon phases
Or be like me and play this in Icewind Dale, where it's always dusk/dark.
A Twilight Cleric and a Paladin walk into a bar...
Seriously, once the auras start coming online, with heavy armor and shields, an Assassin Rogue for Sneak Attack madness and a Wizard for AoE spell funsies and you have a party that Bards will sing about for ages!
Even better if wizard is an evoker so can burst even around the allies
The aura doesn’t just give 1d6 temporary hit points, it gives 1d6 + your cleric level temporary hit points
A twilight cleric with a assassin or arcane trickster rogue and a gloom stalker ranger is going to break the goddamn game
Add a Dex based watchers paladin as well 😮
@@cronykil74why did I just imagine a super edgy group?
Came literally to say this. My gloomstalker was already incredible, and then she became a twilight cleric, and now she's still a relatively low level PC but a powerhouse nonetheless.
I would actually love to see the lore for the characters you're using to represent the subclasses
Me too. I think maybe for a different kind of video. Great idea!
I play one from a world where the sun has gone out and the world is a frozen hellscape. Civilization as a whole has fallen apart and the few survivors left are in small tribes. Big post post apoplectic vibes.
@@redghosts13 sound like you're in a perfect scenario for ya
@@redghosts13 - If Sun went out, it doesn't take long for planetary bodies to get as cold as the dark side of the moon. I could see something magical converting the visible spectrum radiant output to incoherent RF, leaving part of the infrared to make the planet barely able to not be an ice-ball.
I plan to make a halfling grandmother whos going to take care of her party as if they where her grand children
Flavor wise I like the idea of a Twilight Cleric and circle of stars druid multiclass. It seems, thematically very cool. Don't know how good it would be in practice but since they are both wisdom casters I don't see why it couldn't work.
it could work if your Dm lets you get around the Whole metal thing with bone and what not. otherwise druid metal ick is a bummer.
I have a Dwarven life cleric who is gonna dip 2 lvls in Wildfire druid. he's letting me forge Dwarven Bone plate to get around it. that way i can teleport my single brain celled party to me for healing who like to run off on their own.
Stars druid/twilight cleric? Welcome to the best healer in the game
I am playing just that now, 6 druid 1 cleric atm. Also have a moon sickle...
The first night I played a twilight cleric my group faced an encounter that would have killed all of us. My cleric pulled us through with Twilight Sanctuary paired with Aura of Vitality. Wicked fight!
Hi do you want to Never Die Ever?
Well we have the Sphere for you
This happens to me so many times, especially with the channel divinity. So many times the temp HP protected people from death nonstop.
@@ninjii1236pair it with a good paladin aura and shepherd Druid for deluxe sphere™️
A couple of notes. Twilight Sanctuary distributes 1d6 plus your Cleric Level in Temp HP, not just 1d6. Also, if you are concentrating on Greater Invisibility then cast Banishment, you will then lose concentration on Greater Invisibility - use with caution.
One of my favorite moments in my D&D games was my Tiefling Twilight Cleric basically solo-ing a goblin zombie invasion at a fort. Moonbeam + Turn/Destroy Undead = happy devil girl of shadows.
A lot of people are forgetting to mention that twilight sanctuary makes DIM LIGHT.
So as long as you have it up, you don’t have to be in the dark to fly, you can use the flight ability anytime your Twilight Sanctuary is active.
I suggest you learn the difference between you're and your.
@@rogerwilco2 I suggest you learn how to speak to people a little nicer. You come off as extremely condescending. I know the difference, it was a typo.
Fun fact with Steps of Night; going by RAW, you only have to be in dim light or darkness when you ACTIVATE it; after that, during the minute, you can fly into bright light and still not lose it.
There is also some debate about whether or not your Twilight Sanctuary, which is filled with dim light, allows you to start your flight in broad daylight/sunlight. The RAW community states that the sanctuary text doesn't block other light, and bright light, in nature, overcomes dim. However, most DMs, at least in my experience, let it fly... Pun intended.
@@wwade7226The thing is, the light from TS is MAGICAL light, which typically overcomes non-magical light. So, you'd be in dim light if you use it, unless someone casts light nearby.
@@TheNewRedOne This is also how I and others have ruled it plus the image of a cleric seeming to dim the light around them as they kick ass is pretty cool and the rule of cool always wins.
One day, the astral self shall recieve it's video
We just have to believe.
Keep the dream alive.
Hello fellow astral self voter
I have a buddy playing an astral self monk, and I’m waiting for the vid to come out so I can send it to him
And with it shall all the JoJo memes come to the comments. You know it's going to happen but if you're not doing that sorta shit mid combat are you really playing astral self?
I recently finished playing a campaign as a Twilight Cleric and holy wow as someone who loves support builds, it was definitely a great feeling to be able to keep my party safe even when our dm understandably adjusted our encounters to still challenge our party of very powerful subclasses lol
Twilight Sanctuary is even better than what was mentioned in the video since it also adds your Cleric level to temp hp rolls so I was sometimes giving a whole 12 extra temp hp to some allies simply by being near them
yea it makes balancing encounters almost impossible for DMs.
reducing the temp hp it gives out is honestly easier than trying to play around it, still an incredible subclass.
I’d love to see you break down any of the Monk classes- they never get enough love. Love your vids by the way, fast, easy to understand, and funny as hell. Excellent work.
The way of mercy and astral self monks are my favorite out of all the subclasses of monk.
I played a twilight cleric up to level 16 in a Percy Jackson campaign that was a child of Persephone, and let me tell you……twilight sanctuary paired with Holy Aura makes for some of the best support in the game
That's a sweet idea... Percy Jackson series... Why didn't I see that
Every campaign I ever run I run those gods. Wtf is wrong with me.
I don't suppose there are any modules for that? I could look at a book with maps and descriptions. @@milltary64vs5
As someone who hasnt actually played dnd, but enjoy alot of dnd content critical role and dimension 20 included im always excited to watch your new uploads to help persuade which class i should play if i ever have the opportunity too.
20+ year dm that wastes way too much time on youtube offering feedback on your first video I've seen: one of THE best balances of information and humor I've ever seen.
I really have no constructive criticism I could offer, and I usually would.
Subbed and looking forward to more.
You inspired me to write an amazing bladesinger character after watching that video. I really love the way you explain these cool subclasses as they get stronger and really illustrate the benefits of them. 10/10 well worth the sub
As someone who lived through the Twilight film era, still blows my mind how intense people got about it and boggles the mind it’s success
just wanna say man you’re my favorite content on this website right now. after every video of yours i’m inspired to write a character. thank you.
Man, I love these breakdown videos cuz boy are they helping me! Thank you
I was looking at this subclass the other day, and this video has made me absolutely obsessed ty x
"Does this mean a cleric can believe in themselves?" Yes. Yes it does. Had a character based off of that, was very fun. Actually lost his powers when he was in a funk due to a party member dying. Fun times!
I am once again asking for your financial support (Oath of Conquest Paladin for the next video please!)
True
These videos are so good, hilarious and informative. Thanks for the content!
Twilight Clerics are so "strong" because they finally make temp HP/healing _useful._ Healing in combat is completely nonviable, most healing spells are too weak to actually keep a character in the fight for another round and you're better off waiting for them to go down and bringing them up again with a Healing Word. Twilight Sanctuary is seen as OP because it's stronger than other healing/protection abilities, and can actually make a significant difference even at higher levels.
the Protector from the Artillerist is a strong but balanced temp HP provider.
the twilight cleric however is completly broken and makes balancing encounters a nightmare for DMs.
I disagree with the statement "Healing in Combat is completely nonviable"
Really excited to see what comes next!
Favorite character I've played recently was a Shadar-Kai Twilight cleric. Just such cool flavor and the mechanics of the subclass really back the fluff
I love these videos! Now two of my 3 favorite subclasses have vids! All i need now is one on the way of mercy monk.😊
My guy is just taking the most interesting and commonly used subclasses and explaining them in a hilarious and genius way props to you my man
a Ranger dig? I used to take jabs at ranger too but after the revisions they're pretty good, and I actually think they're basically just straight up better Eldritch Knights. Gloomstalker, Drakewarden, Fey Wanderer. All really great subclasses.
Also video 3 of asking for Rune Knight.
Rune knight is coming! Just ribbing on the rangers. They'll get a chance at redemption soon
@@youmightbeadnd No prob, it just seems to be a popular opinion that they suck but I think they have some very powerful yet overlooked options. Though personally I find Monk's to be one of the weaker classes so I'm really excited for the Astral Self video to see how you'll sell me on it.
and looking forward to the Rune Knight, is my favourite subclass.
I played a twilight cleric and it was really fun! I enjoyed my time.
Now as for clerics as a whole I think Trickery clerics get the best domain spells (I will fight you).
Modify memory, polymorph, dimension door, those spells are incredible.
Trickery is one of the best designed cleric subclasses. great spells, nice features and not as overpowered as Peace or Twilight.
and don't underestimate Pass without Trace. allowing your team to get a suprise round feels amazing
@@ISAACcookie Pass without a trace is truly a great addition and just must have spells to have.
+10 to stealth and interferes with tracking? Yup. Love it. @@ISAACcookie
My dude, you are amazing. Just thought you should know. Keep it up!
just came across the channel, i love your creativiity and comedy! excited to see your hard work continue to pay off :)
Love your videos, here's a like and a comment for the algorithm.
These are so much fun, trying to push my friends to watch but they are boring ( my friends), keep up the fun work
I really love your videos and they help me learn dnd more. Nice to see someone talk about a class and it make sense lol. Can you do Samurai sometime? Starting to play that and would be cool to see the broken stuff about them or see if I made a mistake 😂😂
Great video, as always
Lovin these videos, keep it up 🫡
Your videos are quite entertaining, great channel.
I lovvvvvve my twilight cleric. She’s awesome. Thanks for this video as it further explained some abilities I didn’t quite understand.
Thats literally me
@6:50 It just needs to be CAST in dim light or darkness. You can totally duck under a picnic table, cast it, and then fly too close to the sun.
Playing my first campaign as a High Elf Twilight Cleric, loving it.
My favorite class to play...Love the Twilight Cleric...
Fun stuff!
Definitely doing well in *The Gauntlet.*
This was such a great video
Love the videos, nice broooo
About to play this class just because of this video. Thanks mate!
Have fun!
my guy you are absolutely crushing it
So i actually wrote a Twilight Cleric that worships a god of travel who is actually a young Outer God born of eldritch influence who grow to love mortal kind but doesnt know their place in the multiverse. So the Cleric essentially helps this god find their identity and serve others who travel in the night. Showing that darkness is not so scary or inherently evil.
1) Great class that does something the usual overpowered class doesn’t - it is busted because it helps you help the rest of the party too much.
2)It is a shame that if the DM ever has been on the net or talked to another DM that has read Tasha’s, you will never get to play this class.
Ask DM to slightly rework it - Channel Divinity depend on bonus action (like Storm Herald's), you can remove charmed or frightened on one character, not on all of them. That's all, basically.
Loved this.
I'd love to see Artificer videos and the rest of the blood hunter subclasses. Love your stuff. I never would have looked at Blade Singer if not for your videos.
Great video, sorcerer is a great dip to get shield, silvery barbs and absorb elements.
That's me exactly! TC 12/Abberant Mind 1. I've also done War Cleric 12/Divine Soul 3. So awesome!
Good stuff 😊
Love the video. Watch for wizards sending pinkertons
I know it’s a long road ahead, but once you’ve covered all of the subclasses, I think highlighting some of the popular multiclasses could be really good. A couple that come to mind are Barbarian/Rogue, Warlock/Paladin & Sorcerer/Paladin. Or more specific builds like the Magic missle hexblade wizard or polearm bugbear echo knight.
1:41 The Signers from Planescape are exactly this. The Signers used to have their own class, too.
I’d love to see a vid about genie warlocks! I love the subclass and I feel like it isn’t talked about enough
Edgy cleric? I'm here for it!
Twilight Cleric was my first Cleric. All I can say is BAH GAWD are they stupid strong and it FEELS SO GODDAMN GOOD!
Another top 5 subclass!
A+ Review!❤
Man, this is a quality video.
I feel like there is a lot of inspiration from Runesmith here :P
Love your videos nonetheless. Subscribed
second dnd campaign i ever played i chose to play a twilight cleric, wasnt really aware that the subclass was so powerful until after that campaign ended.
For the algorithm gods. Plus i cant wait for these to come out
I'm imagining an NPC Twilight Cleric running a fantasy truck stop
Can't wait for the next poll to not vote for Lore Bard and Astral Self. Also, nice vid as always.
As a Paladin, I approve. 👍
Just hit lvl5 with my Twilight Paladin in the game I'm in, and its starting to feel goooooooooood
The timing is great as I just finished binging the twilight saga with my gf because neither of us had seen it and wanted to cringe together 😂
I think he wants to go to twilight con, just a subtle feeling
Because you don’t necessarily need to worship a single god I think it would be interesting to see a cleric who worships Shar and Selúne at the same time 🌕🌑
Could be a follower of the Dark Moon heresy who believe Shar and Selune are actually one deity.
FYI you don't need to watch _"I dream of genie"_ in order to do the Genie Warlock.
And if doing the Divine Soul Sorcerer, don't bother with Sunday morning religious television.
Underrated comment ^^
Waiting patiently for the artificer video.
hearing "2008 was a different time" makes me feel ANCIENT. Like, The 1600s were different times.
I think you're pretty great
I LOVE your content!!! Can I request swashbuckler?!?! I know you did a different rogue but i just want to see your take on it!
Best synergy is also that the twilight sanctuary creates an aura of dim light around the cleric. Which means that if it is bright outside, it is still dim inside, meaning that the cleric can still use the flying speed
Your videos are great! Would love to see an artificer armored so you could compare it to iron man
You keep making videos subclasses I'm interested in. GET OUTTA MY HEAD.
Just kidding, do it more😈
Also, I'm so glad your channel is growing man the videos are a breath of fresh air!
Dude this video is so informational and fun, makes life a lot better researcher before our first real DND. Also smite is my jam lol thanks for incorporating in
Thanks so much! Haven't played smite in a few years but I really loved it back in the day. Definitely spend too much money on skins... lol
@@youmightbeadnd yeah, "free" game, I've spent the most on it lol
Well done good sir.
My vote is for Gloomstalker next!
Good job
Judging by how these videos are going, I'm thinking you're going to cover a subclass from each class before going back and doing more. I hope to see you cover the Soulknife Rogue and Circle of Stars Druid.
Now I want to play a Kenku twilight, Cleric named nevermore
Dude... it's not 1d6 temp hp for everyone at the party including summons without spending any actions(besides initial cast). It is 1d6 + your cleric level for everyone at the party including summons without spending any actions(besides initial cast). so at 11th level it is 15 temp hp for everyone lets say its party of 4 + 1 summon and it is 4 round combat it is 256 total hp 2 times per SHORT rest. And in my game we have party of 6 with 2 summoners so it is 8, and combat is usually around 8-12 rounds so it would be 1200 temp hp. bsically the harder and longer the encounter is, the better this ability gets
p.s. tho i do agree tha this sublass is busted without multiclassing i really want toplay it woth "Alucard biuld" Race: Winged tiefling turned dampir progression: start with twilight cleric than 5 levels in shadow monk + gunner feat (alucard from hellsing that is) than 1 level in cleric for channel divinity, 1 level in monk for shadow step which is now works in your dim light aura for basically free far step, and then 4 levels in gloom stalker + sharpshooter. build is very late blooming but with all that stuff you have amazing mobility, survavability, utility and damage + great vampire vibes
Shit son you right
@@youmightbeadnd it is not just good. It is broken
Love twilight cleric 😊
It's refreshing to see I'm not the only one who has no positive feelings or nostalgia for Twilight.
You know the coolest part for me?
I was thinking he was talking about 17 level and than he says " okey so the 10 level is absolute banger"
Share your dark vision with all of the parties horses so you can just ride through the night.
Shit... This might be the one subclass that changed my mind about Clerics.
Did I play a twilight cleric? Yes!
Was it based on the Belmonts? Yes!
These are great. Twilight Cleric is so strong…
I made my dm entirely stop a campaign because I was a tiefling twilight cleric they loved the darkness spell
