I had my Hammer Black Widow 3.0 drilled about ten days ago and was still trying to figure it out until it clicked with me today while throwing some practice games. I’m 68 and just started bowling again after a gap of about 35 years, so I’m like starting over from scratch (only bowled two seasons in league before I had to quit). While working on my technique today, in the fifth game, I got a strike to start and a spare for the second frame, then all strikes the rest of the way, for a 280! My highest score ever, and what also got me excited was the two strikes to start the next game, for twelve strikes in a row, so now I know that I’m capable of getting a 300 game someday in the future. Not bad for an old fart who started this season with a 155 average, has a bad back, and is recovering from a minor stroke from last year. Love this new ball!

I’m playing in three leagues this season, but not sure if I can keep it going, because bowling three days in a row is hard on my aging body, but I’m going to keep trying for a few more weeks before I decide whether to drop out of one of the leagues to give myself at least one day of rest between league nights. I had progressed up to a 199 average, but after a couple bad weeks, I’m back down several pins to a 193. The other leagues are closer to a 180 & 187 average. 200 is my goal for this season and I would love to get my first 300 game. We shall see.
Im looking for help picking a ball. I bowl 1 handed 2 fingers and just started bowling 2 times a week for about 3 months using house balls. Im looking to get a ball. I have done research and figured HAMMER ARTIC OR BLACK WIDOW 3 OR VENOM SHOCK...What would you all suggest?
Would be interesting to see this type of video with the Scorpion Low Flare. With a low flare layout. Low volume house shot vs low volume sport or short flat.

True test on Sunday. Have been bowling on a oily 42 ft house pattern, 8 series with a low of 719 and a high of 788, but Sunday is a 7 game marathon on a 35 foot pattern. We'll see what happens.
Actually did fairly well for 4 games. was -23 and inside cash after 4 but the problem lied in the fact that every lane had at least 5 urethane bowlers on it. So it went from a 35ft to a 50 foot pattern in 4 games. Was dropping just right of 6th dot swinging to 3 in the first game. By the fourth was going straight down 3 and getting a severe over under. By the 5th the lanes were unplayable .

The first ball given to me was a hammer and I still got it but I used the magic gem now... I want to know which one is better, what do you think 🤔... Again thank you sir for everything you do.
I feel like it was a mistake for me to get this ball. I didn't know a big asym like this needed speed and high revs, two things I'm NOT good at. I just stupidly assumed a "stronger" ball was what I needed. I'm leaving tons of 10 pins because the ball is rolling out early and not carrying through the pins. It's really hard to get a smooth continuous hook into the pocket for me. The ball behaves very inconsistently for me because I'm just not able to generate the revs it wants. I think maybe pin-down would work better for me but I learned about that too late so nothing I can do about it now. I know this is great ball, but if your not a high-rev bowler.....I don't think it's the way to go.
I’m not a high rev bowler and just bowled my best game ever today, with this ball. See my other comment above about that game and my partial history. I suggest that you get a lesson or two from a professional bowler or coach, like I did right before I had my Black Widow 3.0 drilled, and maybe you will learn to love this ball as much as I do right now.
Re-drill it pin down and use a 3000 or 4000 grit pad on the ball to smooth the it out so the ball doesn't hook so early. Allows the ball to retain its speed further down lane.
I shut it off at the 3:30 mark. Trying to push the humor a little too hard on the one audience member of Cody. Felt like I was back in middle school trying my new routine out in Earth Science. Nobody laughed then either.

This was a poorly done review when compared to the standard ball review done on the channel with very little information given on a ball that I think a lot of people were looking forward to. Guys chill . This is not a lecture . it’s a bowling ball review . A bit overboard with the jokes perhaps but come on ! A stronger BW 2.0… we all know how it should go and it does .
This was the first time I’ve seen one of JR’s reviews and it was actually entertaining and refreshing compared to the countless other dry reviews I’ve watched for the Black Widow 3.0. The critical comments below have confirmed that our society is soft and just one huge snowflake. These are the people that have received blue ribbons and trophy’s at every bowling tournament they’ve ever played in since a kid. These are the people that leave the same critical comments for the Pickleball paddle reviews. #soft
If you're attempting to make sales pitches for this bowling ball you should at least have the wide angle so that the viewers can see exactly where your positioning yourself on the approach not just the mark on the lane
This review was pretty terrible. Hate the new camera angle, the light reflecting off the lanes makes the image fuzzy. What was wrong with the angle when you did the Journey review? Commentary on the review as well was pretty bad.. I like a good joke every now an then but.. felt like it was more humor in this review than an actual ball review..
Show me one bowling video that doesn't have light reflecting off the lanes (basically a polished/glass like/mirror like surface). The mentioned Journey video has the same amount of reflection/"fuzzy".

How did it handle the 35 ft pattern and are you drilled for low flare?
