Milano centrale is one of the most beautiful stations in the world. Italy is by far the best country in Europe for prices (see competition) and quality of the service for the high speed trains. The network could and shoul be expanded (and if fact it will) but referring to the already the existing one, it is very good

Awsome. The italo is beautiful. Highlight is Milan railway station. Wow. What an amazing architecture. Leipzig in Germany has a grand station as well. Infact many European railway stations are very rich architectural design with modern functions. Thanks for the video
When I was in Milan last year I used both Italo Primo on their Evos and Trenitalia Business on their new Frecciarossa 1000 and honestly both were good. I don't think you could moan hugely about either. Italo was slightly better for someone who spoke little Italian though,. I've since learnt that all on train staff on Italo have to have English to at least B2 level to get a job there and pretty much they've made their entire trains bi-lingual. Made it far easier when I asked something about arriving in Venice and also when the snacks came around they were able to tell me exactly what they had - even asking for a tea with sugar was tough on Trenitalia. Also felt the service was a little more personable on Italo as well - maybe it's just because i was a tourist, but it did seem that Italo go more out their way for non Italian speakers.
I don't think the AGV is s pendolino. The tilting train was a great design but for some reason it is no longer used in Italy except for the ETR 600 Frecciargento. Some trains are called Nuovo Pendolino or Pendolino (like this one) simply as a brand name. Tou can google Pendolino and read all about it.
And for the "Gran finale" we have an old lady talking on the phone and a kid screaming! Perfect! This is why i dont travel without my in ear buts, the best investment in my life hahah
6'34" I wouldn't say that Alstom is the only company that makes articulated high-speed coaches, so do Talgo (AVE and Avril products) and Stadler (SBB Giruno train), though they aren't indeed based on the same technology...
Great report Thibault, as always. I regularly take Italo between Milan and Venice. I much prefer the newer Italo EVO trainsets, which usually operate services to/from Venice. They feel way more airy, bright and spacious, they don't come (yet) with those horrible advertisements on the traytables and don't make that plasticky noise that ETR600s do. I also prefer them over Trenitalia's Frecciarossa1000, whose seats are as comfortable as a wooden bench, especially in standard class.
AGVs are nice trains. I wish they had more legroom. I'm a bit of a tall bloke and sometimes o have to squeeze in. I'm not overly tall but if your neighbour takes up a lot of space.... You feel a bit squashed 🤣
I'm glad you posted NTV train because I've always wanted to compare it with Trenitalia trains I've seen on RUclips. All the cars look cramped and uncomfortable. Today I watched a technical report on German TV about this train based on a journey from Milan to Rome at 300 km / h. A disaster occurred during a scheduled stop, at least when it happened in Germany was perceived as a medium disaster: "Cars are in reverse order" (Wagen in umgekehrter Reihenfolge). The Italians pushed through each other just as headlessly, so the train started its onward journey with a 2-minute delay. As a German, I had a lot of fun. - Greetings to all fans of high speed trains, Heinz
But is it possible that everything Germany tells about Italy is always a disaster? Every time they make a report on Italy, the narrative is negative! Does it excite you to think that whatever Germany does is always better than Italy? Even if the reality tells that the German railways have a negative record on punctuality in Europe and have more technical problems and railway accidents than Italy, so much so that they have changed the top management of the DB? I inform you, that last week Alitalia was awarded as the best European airline for punctuality by beating the Germans. I'll tell you in advance if German TV complains about Alitalia too!
@@intersezioni - Sorry for wrong expression. I wanted to say if in Germany a train has wrong order of its cars it's a "disaster" to German travellers. I was wondering it's in Italian, too.
In reality the train can hit 400 km/h, they are authorised to a maximum of 300km/h, unfortunately maintenance costs increase exponentially with increase of speed, as you see the average trip from Milan to Rome with a few small stops travels around 165 km/h.
The AGV has some unique features like i.e. every coach it's a single extrusion of aluminum which is then properly closed at the two extremes and windows are subsequently cut. It features the unique in it's category distributed traction that gives the vehicle a very weird wheel arrangment UIC code (Bo'2'2'Bo'2'Bo'2'2'Bo'2'2'Bo) but also features a very special (secret) design brushless motor type which is able to deliver a huge amount of power in nearly half the size of a competitor motor. It also features Jackobs type bogies, which means every bogie it's between two coaches making the whole vehicle very low and able to achieve interesting aerodynamic performances and also the uncompensated mass it's so low and the center of gravity is so low that it's probably the safest high speed train existing. It's designed to work both with common italian tracks power supply at 3kVcc and high speed tracks european standard 25kVca, but there's also a version that supports french common supply (1,5kVcc) and the Swiss-Austrian power supply standard (15kVca). The vehicle itself it's able to run up to 400km/h but the italian rail system owner approved only 300Km/h (there are rumors about an unfair move to favor the Frecciarossa 1000 which has been approved for 350Km/h on the very same tracks without proving to offer any higher safety features).
wow , you know a few things hahah , I actually work on bord of the Italo AGV , it's always a pleasure to see someone soo pasionate about this argoment.
When I was booking a trip from Milan to Rome I debated between Trenitalia and NTV. After looking at your nicely produced video I am glad I chose Trenitalia because NTV looks like second rate operation through and through. The dynamic streamlined exterior only heightens the disappointment when you step aboard this cramped train with passengers packed in like sardines and leg room resembling a bus or airline coach class. Those vending machines are the ultimate insult and a real turn off. I require a cafe so I can relax with a glass of of good Italian wine and chat with other passengers while watching the passing scenery roll by - which is the reason I travel by train in the first place! Nothing about NTV/AGV looks inviting or suggests a comfortable trip so thanks again for warning me.
@@misterhat5823 Let me put it this way. I was on Amtrak and the person behind me was drunk and causing a commotion for the crew. He was eventually escorted off the train by the police. I didn't hear a thing. When we stopped, I had to take off the headphones to find out what was happening. I recommend these: Samsung Level On PN-900 Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones - Bluetooth Headset - Black. They won't break the bank.
Here's a tip: if you book at least two month early, you will spend less money on Italo's first class than on a low cost airline on a short route such as Milan-Rome.
A cinema car seems so out of date and a waste of time and money in the 21st century. NTV should focus of dumping those awful vending machines and running a real cafe car for passengers to relax and socialize over some good Italian wine.
I remember being in that station. Very impressive. However that huge Burgerking inside would only except cash. Couldn't belive it wouldn't except card payments. Bet that's all changed now. And I suffered with food posioning by the time I reached the airport. Never eat from there again.
I enjoy your videos and reviews so much!! My challenge is sometimes having difficulty reading the text. Is there a way to contrast the text and background better? Would make for an easier reading experience. Thanks from Canada 🇨🇦
Only 80 Euros for a last-minute ticket? That's amazing! Good luck getting that good a price for a last-minute Amtrak ticket, typically you'd have to pay at least double here in the states for the same situation.

Nothing about NTV/AGV looks inviting or suggests a comfortable trip so thanks again for warning me.
The milan station is bellissima!!!congrats for the video!!!👍
I hope one day, meet this city and this station too 👍 greetings from Brazil
No is not is dull, cold, colourless, too big and empty - -
With such a seat neighbor, I would need strong coffee and some music 😌
Between the mouthy woman and screaming kid, it seems like a rather shitty experience.
@@misterhat5823 wireless headphones with noise cancellation are a must for bus, train or plane travel.
@@cogman62 Do those work for speech? Most tend to cancel just random noise, but let speech through. Or at least they did last time I tried them.
@@cogman62 Awesome. Glad to see they work better.
Sure beautiful landscape
Love from Greece 🇬🇷
Nice video !!
Nice video...greetings from Satu Mare-Romania
Those italo trains look very good
Here's a tip: if you book at least two month early, you will spend less money on Italo's first class than on a low cost airline on a short route such as Milan-Rome.
Beautiful rail station
Portugal PT wish the best to Italy IT :)
Thanks for the last part of the video
🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
Greate train and greate main railwai station at Milano.👍👏
Genova-venezia with Frecciarossa?🥺♥️
That’s smart to skateboard to the station must be a pain in the ass to walk
You should also try the new nmbs M7 when you get back to travelling. Stay safe!
I'd love to see a trip report on the new NMBS coaches as well!
one man to go in " Milano Central Station " whit the " skaitboard" ....
to beat immediately....
There needs to be a major whole-EU grip on high speed trains. Some countries get it, like France. We need TGV/AGV everywhere!
Thought this chap would go riding his skateboard from Milano all the way down to Roma, my bad😂
No matter what train I'm on I am only interested what I can see out of the window. No sleeping, no reading.
A cinema car seems so out of date and a waste of time and money in the 21st century. NTV should focus of dumping those awful vending machines and running a real cafe car for passengers to relax and socialize over some good Italian wine.
looking nice Italo 😄
Looks like an amazing ride.
Thanks! it's something I improved in my latest videos!
Nice video :) However, Talgo high speed trains may be considered as articuated coach trains
Excellent video
Beautiful video 👌 keep it up Bro much love from

Great video!
Only 80 Euros for a last-minute ticket? That's amazing! Good luck getting that good a price for a last-minute Amtrak ticket, typically you'd have to pay at least double here in the states for the same situation.
Great architecture
