Bery Istanbul Tips hello Berry we will be visiting Istanbul very soon in a couple of weeks and your video came right in time before our visit. Can you tell me if all souvenir shops in your video are around the coffee shop. I mean are they in the same area. Thanks a lot 😊
Do yourselves a favor and follow Bery's advice. We were just in Istanbul last week. We went to the local stores just outside the Spice Bazaar, like she suggested. The prices were marked, no need to bargain, and they were much lower than the Grand Bazaar. Everyone was friendly, and no pressure sales. The only thing is that they really would prefer you use cash.
an advice from A Turkish college students to me; shop during the journey outside Istanbul, rents are expensive just like in all major cities, so the markup has to build into their prices. As I love the 100% cotton Turkish towel, perfect for travel, it comes in different weight/thickness. I bought it in the tinny town of KAS on sale, Izmir Bazaar. I also went to a locl outdoor market in Pamukkali, my tour guide took a break to prayed at the local mosque, so I got to walk around & shop. I bought 12 different towels and end up shipping it in Cappadocia before I arrived in Istanbul. In Istanbul, I only bought different teas/coffee, tea /coffee maker sets which were light weight to pack up in my luggage. Everyday, i looked for "Borek" the phyllo patry with spinach+cheese, different shops made it slicely different, it's so good.
You are a rockstar, Bery!
Thanks for the videos, they’re very helpful, I went to Istanbul in August 2019, we paid so much in the grand bazaar, we’re going again in June, I’m watching all your videos and keeping your tips, you’re awesome!
Thanks for the video, I went to the shop today mentioned at 6:16 if anyone is curious to know, the price of a cushion cover was 65TL it's gone up in price as expected but it's still cheap when compared to the dollar.
very helpful tip. keep them coming! i was about to travel to istanbul last june but because of the pandemic it was cancelled. so we will travel early 2021. thankfully i found your channel. greetings from the philippines!
Have always been in love with Turkish. But never been lucky to visit and explore. When ever I watch videos like this I feel sad. Asking myself when and how will I visit Turkey. Thanks for the video. Insha Allah. Hoping one day to visi
Excellent guide! I always get a magnet for my fridge wherever I go, and now that we've moved to a new house with these really nice shelves in the living room, I'll be getting stuff to decorate the shelves too.
Thank you very much Bery, your videos on Istanbul were very helpful, yesterday I went to the last shop you showed and bought a bunch of lovely things at a reasonable price, I had a local friend with me who was surprised with the price.
+Carel Le Roux Botha yes! And they have good prices too, not as expensive as in the Grand Bazaar. I sometimes go there to buy different teas and spices 😁
Thank you so much for this. I went to Istanbul last April and was told the same- not to buy at Grand Bazaar. Im coming back in September and will go back to the stores you suggested instead.
I am really looking forward for my Turkey trip this summer. And this video was really helpful for me. Hope everything gets better soon and vlogger like us can explore more this year.
Thank you soo much bery for this video...my father is visiting turkey next Wednesday and it really helped....now he'll have some idea about the prices....so hopefully he won't get robbed 😅😅
Just keep in mind that those prices are from 3 years ago, now prices changed a lot, we are going through a period of a bad inflation, but still that area shown in the video is not as expensive as other areas.
@@BeryIstanbulTips yeah every country is facing problems and prices got high a lot .... I'll keep that in mind...thanks a lot for your help ...at least i got some ideas about the prices 💜

Gracias bella Bery. #ComerRicoYBarato #VidaNocturna. 🤗 Saludos a Ti y tu esposo, desde Argentina. 🤲🏻💕

Small update : i went to the same place 2 days ago and the prices are much higher. Maybe it because the inflation went worse. The tea set in the same place costs me 175 (after bargaining) instead of 75 in your video.
Thank you for the update! Also take into consideration that this video is almost 3 years old 😀 so during that time prices change a lot plus the inflation going on in the last months, is normal that things won’t cost the same any more. But still that area is way more affordable than inside the Grand Bazaar or Spice bazaar 😀
Hi dear I am from India, good to see your efforts as you are guiding us about Istanbul. Can you show us few locations where popular Turkish tv series were shoot. Like Feriha and the Promise Awaiting to hear back from you ... Enjoy
