The Africa area is amazing!!! Maybe you should put in some tree guards around the trees to make it a bit more realistic. Those hippos could easily knock down the trees.
This habitat turned out amazing! One thing I liked to see/hear about was the on-the-go adjustments of things like water depth. It can be easy to edit that out but helps to show that it takes adjusting to make it work alot of the time!

Great video! I am in love with Hippo Falls!! The hippo feet in the concrete for the viewing gallery is a wonderful detail, and definitely an idea I want to use in my zoos! It's a really nice, cute touch. Seeing the aerial view of the Africa section is pretty awe-inspiring. It's hard to believe that we've seen all that come together over just the past month or two. It's coming together really well. I look forward to seeing the whole section completed!

Absolutely stunning! I always hated to build habitats for hippos. The space requirement is insane and since I only play in franchise mode, it's impossible to match the foliage requirements and make the habitat look good at the same time. You drop one tree and one bush inside, and it's already too much foliage. It kind of forces you to make the habitat look boring and barren which is really no motivation to ever get hippos for your zoo. Your habitat looks so beautiful, and I KNOW the foliage-o-meter is deep red and the guests will complain, instead of admiring the beauty they are looking at. Sometimes I hate franchise mode...

Absolutely love watching the zoo evolve each week! I think some cool ideas for the elephants could come from Denver Zoo’s Elephant Passage. It includes an almost 360 degree view of elephant enrichment/keeper shows as well as a bridge the elephants can use to travel over the guest path. Keep up the amazing work Zed!
Cool video, you should check out the rest of the zoos in Ohio, all our zoos have those foot prints everywhere. Columbus zoo has some cool habitats and the Cleveland Zoo has their big rainforest building. The Wilds has some nice features for a large savannah style exhibit, with ziplines and truck tours. Akron is ok, you are not missing anything if you avoid Toledo Zoo.
I wish I was that creative man. Or had the patience for it, really. My biggest achievement was a (sort of) underwater glas tunnel between hippos and sea lions, so I could see them dive at the same time. That took foreeeeever. I don't even wanna know how long all of this took😅
@ZSHplays oof that's nut man. That tunnel took me maybe between 1 and 1 and a half hours. Mostly because of the damn paths. I first wanted it to be like those tunnels you sometimes see in big aquariums, but sadly, I couldn't figure out a way to submerge it. Most likely because that is just not possible. So, I compromised by making two underwater habitats next to each other. Still looked pretty dope in first person even if they didn't swim above you.
This has become a large, beautiful habitat. I sense the pain of wrapping up such a substantial project, but you have certainly succeeded. I don't think this is going to be the largest habitat in SBZ.
Haha thanks! It's difficult with the water in PZ, I wanted it to match the colour of the habitats I was looking at in the underwater view but that makes it too saturated from above.
So far the environments have stayed relatively warm or hot and i absolutely can't wait for potential cold climate habitats if you're planning on adding some!
Hippos need so much space... I wish it was reduced by Frontier. Anyway, you did a nice habitat, although I would have included some windows to the large building to let natural light in for the animals.

This hippo habitat looks beautiful!! 🤩🦛 I just recently discovered that one of there's a hippo foot on the education station paw print, so I'll have to try to incorporate your technique of rotating the hippo statue into the design. 😊
