Pau’s drum teacher, Beto Ramos, mixed the audio for this concert. TW said they tried make this song longer but all attempts did not sound good. So they recommend that you play it again if you think it’s too short.

Gina, thanks for continuing to react to The Warning. They are storytellers and therefore almost all songs are 3 to 4 minutes. Those who want extended guitar solos can seek them out elsewhere. The Warning have important things they want to warn the world about.

Written when they were pre-/mid teens for and like the rest of their concept album "Queen Of The Murder Scene" - they said, they tried to make it longer, but the song was begging them not to - if you like it, put it on repeat. This is the song that caught Lzzy Hale attention and had her decide to invite them to tour the US with her (and The Pretty Reckless) in 2022.

Love this band, they have a lot of good music out there. Their VMA live performance of "Evolve" is among one of the best i've seen from anyone. They played with most of the crowd not knowing who they were and by the end everyone was rocking out, it was awesome. Good react Gina!

  • @MrJest2
    @MrJest2 3 месяца назад +8

I wish I could attribute this comment; it's not mine - someone else said it. It's kind of paraphrasing a comment the ladies themselves made in the _Tidal Rising_ documentary. But they note:
"Most bands try to replicate their studio sound when playing live. _The Warning_ does precisely the opposite. And they often fail." Kind of says it all, right there - they are a *live* band, first, foremost, and always... which is a major reason people absolutely LOVE to see them perform live. It's what they were born to do.

The Warning document their process of creating a song. Often playing the song raw in their basement studio, trying it out before performing it on stage. There is a video of Dull Knives when The Warning were younger, at home playing to the camera. They sounded as good as the concert you just reacted to. You should see Dany’s fearsome face, glaring at the camera!

The Warning playing and recorded this song from their basement studio (The Warning Cave) during the pandemic. It was part of an online concert called DTour. Lzzy Hale, of Halestorm, was also one of the performers. She was so impressed, she invited TW to tour with them twice for around 30 shows. Ultimately, she was moved to gift Dany ( mid performance) a custom made Gibson Explorer Guitar, that she secretly had made to Dany’s Specs.

Well. This song is actually just one single chapter of full story of concept album titled "Queen of the Murder Scene". So in fact there is whole story and "Dull knives" tells only 1/13 of it. So as You can see this is pretty deep rabbit whole...

I’ve seen them 3 times and I’ll be seeing them next Saturday (27th April) in London. I first saw them at the Whisky A Go Go in L.A. In January 2020. I thought there’s no way they’re actually as good as the live videos show. They were unbelievable. The energy, the sound, the love they show their fans. At 57 I thought I’d seen it all. They are my favourite band. If you get a chance to see them live, do it. You’ll be blown away.

Pau, the drummer deciided at age 16 that she and her sisters should make thier second album a concept album about a young womans descent into obssesion, stalking , murder and the consequences, this song is where the girl is contemplating suicide and inflicting pain for her crimes. The album Crimson Queen was released when they were 13 16 and 18 years old. It has many amazing songs on it the performance live of Dust to Dust is one of my favorites and there are several performances on their web site, Lumario wihen they intorduced th eentire album live is a fan favoorite.

TW has various styles of rock but they are invariably pure rock!!
With its structure, its breaks, transitions, rhythm changes, modulations, choruses, pre-choruses, drum attacks, its endings…
The great beauty of their art is in its simplicity but all this always seems to be at the right time and in the right way, bordering on perfection and predominating sophistication.
Each of its pieces can be very different, but always with all the TW flavor.
It’s very clear that these sisters have no limits.
They have that gift that only belongs to the geniuses that appear among us every certain long period of time.
They are the queens of the hook, the riff, the contagious rhythms, the catchy melodies, the sublime vocals, the unbeatable harmonies and the ambiguous but deep and powerful messages.
And this happens song after song... INCREDIBLE!!
    The new rock masters:
    The Warning.
For now I'm subscribing to your channel because I hope to see many reactions from you to my favorite band of all time.

    *Dull Knives*
a dull knife tears instead of making a clean cut... torn wounds are very hard to repair... in this 9th song of the concept album, "Queen of the Murder Scene" (aka QOTMS), the Queen is considering suicide as one way to possibly stop her evil side from taking hold... by using a dull knife, she is making it harder for someone to stop the bleeding and save her if she is found before she expires...
in another of the songs on the QOTMS album, *Sinister Smiles* , the lyrics talk about the water in a tub turning red from blood... this is seen as a female way of suicide because the tub would keep the mess all contained and not mess up other parts of the location...
to me, the lyric "I'm plucking roses but keeping the thorns!" is about seeing, gathering, and embracing beauty while retaining only the darkness and gloom that was used to create and protect that beauty... that's some pretty deep stuff, there!
    TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA

A lot of their songs feel short (and most are, especially compared to 70's AOR like Rush), but I think a lot of that is due to just wanting to listen to more of a good thing and the way they tend to do a hard stop rather than a fadeout.

  • @oregonlt3
    @oregonlt3 3 месяца назад +1

Ahh yes, the universal opinion… it’s too short. Even the band agrees but the song refused to be lengthened despite their attempts. so the only option is to “play it again!” (Vlog 25).
It was however long enough for Lzzy Hale to be mesmerized and immediately offer to tour with them😂

I don't know if you'll read this before you supposed to react to my wintersun rabbit hole but if possible for wintersun sons of winter and stars to react to the 1.5 lyric version first and if possible after that watch the wintersun sons of winter and stars live rehearsal video at Sonic pump studios in Helsinki Finland. The reason being ginx there seems to be a difference in the audio of both versions that maybe you can point out since that's your expertise . My opinion is that in the first few minutes of the lyric version the guitars are prominent to were i can hear them but if you listen to the live rehearsal video the guitars are more audible to me. Maybe you can tell yourself and explain it to me and the rest of us in your analysis. Is it Wintersuns audio engineers remastering the audio? You would have to find out by watching both in the same reaction that's the best way in doing that I guess. If you can respond to my suggestion before you react I would be grateful. Thank you wintersun Alex ❤️

Try more "The Warning"! As many suggest the live performances from the two really well recorded and mixed concerts: (i) 2022 at Teatro Metropolitan and (ii) 2018 Lunario CDMX
    (1) "Automatic Sun" Newest release (April 5, 2024), studio version with concert footage: ruclips.net/video/PDFH9AcPpyA/видео.html
    (2) "Hell You Call a Dream," released (March 8, 2024), live: ruclips.net/video/s6b_FgQnXL8/видео.html
    (3) Recent release (Feb 2, 2024) "Sick": ruclips.net/video/5IS53CZjT6o/видео.html
    (4) "Disciple" live 2022: ruclips.net/video/Wo0odllVq8g/видео.html
The sisters trade off on lead vocal (including drummer, Pau) and harmonies. Bass intro.
    (5) "Evolve": ruclips.net/video/3_RB0tRI624/видео.html
Real banger, filmed on 16 iPhones and a drone. The Scream.
    (6) "Dust to Dust" live 2022: ruclips.net/video/sC9IbWYkips/видео.html
Opening to concept album "Queen of the Murder Scene" featuring the drummer Pau as the lead vocalist. Bass intro.
    (7) Live, interpretive Cover of "Enter Sandman" for the "The Metallica Blacklist" album.
    ruclips.net/video/vg9vNE7gm0I/видео.html.
    (8) "Martirio", live 2022: ruclips.net/video/s1RsC4-D4Ws/видео.html
Spanish language power ballad about people who "live in their own martyrdom instead of picking themselves up and moving on in life.
    (9) "More" live VMAs: ruclips.net/video/MS4tesQCqZc/видео.html
    Funky grunge pop.
    (10) "Ugh" live, 2022: ruclips.net/video/cmsK4un3zfk/видео.html
A personal fav. Another bass intro by Ale.
    (11) 2022 live, "Queen of the Murder Scene": ruclips.net/video/OHN0-arxsx4/видео.html 2018
Climax of "Queen of the Murder Scene" album. Super tight this performance. The stops are so tight, they punch you.
    (12) "Animosity" (Live, 2022): ruclips.net/video/K8VPX-diRl4/видео.html
    Fun, up-tempo, half-time chorus. Catchy.
    (13) Live, "Money", 2022: ruclips.net/video/QVFDJhsjHo0/видео.html
    (14) "Error": ruclips.net/video/DqPj-E_8f3c/видео.html
"Human nature in question/Flawed and broken in silence/It’s never the intention
    just progress"
    (15) "Choke", live 2022: ruclips.net/video/MMtuwMLGm-I/видео.html
Slower paced, rock-heavy riff about drowning in one's emotions
    (16) "Z" (Live 2022): ruclips.net/video/s-1gwSegQ7E/видео.html
Punk rock Id sneaking in a bit.
Older things (but awesome - they've been playing for 10 years, since the bassist was 9):
    (17) 2020 live performance of "Dull Knives": ruclips.net/video/-VUCzqDyOdI/видео.html
In "the cave" that is their home studio for years. Everything rocks about this song from the driving bass to the grunge guitar to the drums double kick slamming at the end.
    (18) 2020 live performance of "P.S.Y.C.H.O.T.I.C.": ruclips.net/video/tlRyOzwycMQ/видео.html
Punk influences more obvious here (cross some grunge cheerleader chants). And definitely the best song to learn how to spell this word for us dyslexics.
    (19) 2017 cover of Mötley Crüe's "Kick Start My Heart": ruclips.net/video/faM1mBaba3c/видео.html
Fun, fun, fun. Too short. They were rehearsing for a gig and recorded it.
    (20) 2015 Cover of Foo Fighters "The Pretender": ruclips.net/video/yjDkAnaTVVY/видео.html
    (21) 2014 cover of Metallica's "Enter Sandman" (23M views): ruclips.net/video/1boUYB9LFJY/видео.html
What launched them on RUclips and got patreons allowing them to record independently two albums before Lava Records signed them last year.
    (22) Spanish language song, Narcisista: ruclips.net/video/O7IAEhN4RMM/видео.html
Giving the finger (in Spanish) to Spanish music critics who called them culture traitors (malinchista) for singing in English for a world audience. Pau the drummer sings this one with a lot of passion.
    (23) Cover of Metallica's "Atlas Rise": ruclips.net/video/ujrHJH3yovc/видео.html
2017, so they were still really young and you can see how much better the became since the "Enter Sandman" cover three years before.
    (24) "XXI CENTURY BLOOD": ruclips.net/video/syTyga3lVL0/видео.html
Official and award-winning video of the title song from their 2017 album.

I'm sincerely glad that you like The Warning. The negative is that you managed to really unnecessarily pause THREE times during their shortest song. Doing so, you missed an incredibly-tight, clean, impressive and impactful stop before a chorus and also ruined the pinnacle of the climax of the end of the song.

    • @mjc1389
      @mjc1389 3 месяца назад +5

      C’mon…
You can’t have things both ways.
A reactor doing a true blind reaction doesn’t know when the “appropriate” time is to pause a song.
You might say play the whole song and talk after but then reactors have a tendency to skip on observations that are best made in the moment.
I could also say if you don’t want the song paused then go listen to the original.
Most of us watch reactions…shocking…for the reactions and commentary of the reactor, we probably already know the song.
