I spent 2 weeks looking for a way to install both a buzzer AND the runcam thumb onto my babe ape. Thanks a lot bro! Loving the upgraded look and feel of the vids btw🔥❤️
@@ghostrot i used the same 5V pad. Here’s what i did: Because tie pads are very small and finicky to work with, i soldered the thumbcam’s 5V wire to that of the buzzer (i removed the insulation of the middle of the buzzer’s 5V wire and soldered there). Then simply took the buzzer’s 5V and soldered it to the 5V pad. Everything’s working fine now
I've never seen someone do that with zipties before, nice trick! I've just got my Baby Ape v2 Pro, getting ready to put my runcam on so this video was great!
Hey love the vids man. Especially Pulpit Rock. May I ask, have you ever done testing to figure out the top speed of the Baby Ape? And when you were mountain surfing Pulpit Rock, what percent of its top speed where you using... 75%?
I have not speed tested it but it does feel pretty quick. Coming down the mountain I was probably at 60%. Maybe I’ll get a gps for it and really see how fast it is.
I did some visual testing (based on time to get from point a to point B) and got to around 90km/h, but that was pretty inaccurate. Now I got a gps tho so I will be able to get some speeds.
Hey man, I am hésitating to buy one for my baby ape… what do you think you ?if yes is the thumb pro much better than the normal thumb ? Thank you so much for your help ! I am so scared of the vibrations…
I like the footage I get from mine, and any vibrations can be cleaned up fairly easily in gyroflow. And I personally have not tried the pro version but the next one I buy will definitely be the pro just for the higher definition
I saw another vid some guy used a 5v BEC going to the same pads to power his thumb cam...for the life of me I can't see a reason for this except to stop surges
I put my thumb pro on my first ape but a tree knocked one of the wires loose and blew my 5v regulater. I ordered a second one but I'm hesitant to add the extra fail point again. What vtx and antenna is that? Worth the upgrade?
@@duaneheadworth6275 no I’m sure it’s plenty durable I just don’t think it could physically fit in the frame. The baby ape standoffs are only 15mm so you would need to get taller standoffs and then figure out how to mount the camera
@@719FPV thank you. That’s what I was guessing , but I was hoping with some sort of miracle solution. I just ordered the DJI goggles V2 reconditioned from Amazon for $344. I previously bought a radio master Tx16s (elrs) but wanted to start out flying with a smaller and expensive drone like the baby ape Pro v2. Now I wonder if I should just buy the BDI digital adapter V2 for the goggles and fly it analog?
Unfortunately I don’t, they are the mounts that came in the box with the camera. But I’ve seen the tpu one on getfpv.com and seen different styles of mounts on aliexpress.com for have the price

How what pads ?

Thank you for this video mate! keep on flying the baby ape, I love your vids.
Looks easy enough. Good visual instructions. I could even do this. 😊
i just recently added a 4k thumb to my babyape as well. thanks for the video!
I like this style. great job!
Use tweezers while soldaring wires
Solid vid man! Thanks!
Great video... Have a nice day 👍
Love my baby ape pro. What antenna is that. I need to replace my stock one. Left a like
It’s the truerc singularity stubbie

Do you happen to know what size screws are on this drone. I can’t find the size anywhere? Thanks
Yeah they are m2 screws and 15mm standoffs

Yeah I’ve never had an issue with just using the pad on the flight controller
I've never soldered before. Is it difficult to avoid those motor mounts when soldered the ground wire?
No, It’s not as bad as the camera makes it look. Just use a fine tip soldering iron

Its a crossfire sixty9, vtx/receiver combo with a TrueRC singularity stubby. It’s makes a world of difference compared to the stock vtx
could i do this with the runcam thumb pro cause that comes with a 4pin cable just solder the red and black/ rx tx?
@@StupidJunbo69 yeah. Same install. The rx and tx are only needed if you want to be able to stop and start recording through the radio
@@719FPV so í only solder red and black
@@StupidJunbo69 yeah that’s all you need
can you helpme, i have replaced the fc with a new one, but the vtx is not turning on now, is there anything i should do after i replaced the new fc
Not typically, I would start with checking all the solder/plug connections to make sure nothing is loose
@@719FPV oke i will try check all the solder, thanks
Would it be exactly the same for the Baby Ape Pro?
Yes they are identical other than the fpv camera
Thank you!@@719FPV
is it possible to instal a DJI O3 Air Unit on the baby ape pro v2?
I don’t think a dji air unit would fit in the baby ape frame without modifying
