I got an opportunity to work with a small company and that is why I am using your PLC Fundamentals course. Small businesses are the best for learning, was the same with my previous IT job at a local MSP. Thanks for being real, Paul. Helps to know that interesting people are in this field.
Hey, glad to hear you found yourself a good opportunity to learn and get paid while you're doing it!! Just don't allow yourself to get TOO comfortable. Even when you learn everything you need to know to do your current job well, KEEP GOING. ask that guy next to you what he's doing and make him teach you. The more you learn, the more you earn! And what you're doing today may only be a fraction of what you COULD be doing tomorrow.
I'm babysitting for a good friend who manages a family automation company. She asked me to learn Siemens and work at the shop because of their recent difficulties integrating with some Italian machines at a new plant. It's an odd jump, but I'm loving your class and the story that brought you there!
From babysitting to PLC programming sounds like maybe the best and most dramatic career move I've ever heard! And unless you really LOOOOOOOOOVE you some babies, I'm betting it's one you're going to be very, VERY happy you made!! 🦁
Wooow I was so amazed listening to your story. I see myself so much in you. I am also programmed to fit in anywhere and quickly learn to adjust. Listening to you gave me much hope not to give up on this path. Thank you Paul. I am your student on the plc course
Definitely DON'T give up. There's zero good reasons to do that. The further you go in learning this stuff the more you'll realize how very EASY it really is.
you really do learn alot more working for a small company or even a systems integrator where you go project to project. what you learn in 5 years is way more than anyone at large company's know with more experience as they spend most of their time in meetings, paper work and corporate politics.
I've honestly been having fun with your video. I don't know if it will solve my problem and see the "light at the end of the tunnel", but it has encouraged me to try my new conversion. Thank you
Hey Paul, going through your PLC course now, love it. I can see why you've done well, you have a great attitude. My cousins husband is military as well and he has the same can do attitude, good way to be!
Hey Paul Ive been following you for over a year and thank you for all the good work you have done so far to inspire people hold on to their career. Though I like your style and the way sharing your experience, I'd like to get better on system engineering. I wish there was someone else in platform just like you, interested little more in my major. If there are any, hit me up to follow them👍😃. Wish you all the best.
@@kaiqueTIAPORTAL Thanks for checking it out! I'm not aware of any such repository, but it certainly would be a useful resource for the community... Have a great weekend!

@@PaulLynn Sorry! I meant LogixPro 500. But forsure! I feel like I’ll be good then. It does have the I/O simulator along with other simulators Garage Door, Batch Mixing, etc.
Hello Paul, thanks for sharing your motivation on this journey. please I need your assistance; Did you have any video content that gives insight on how the Elevator System works? I bought your Plc Dojo Level 1&2 courses. please I anticipate your help. Thanks🙏
@@emeziepromise6084 Ah, gotcha. Well, I really don't teach how to program specific systems. I focus on teaching people how to make a PLC do whatevee they want it to do. It's up to them to figure that part out. That being said, anybody who's completely my first two courses should be able to EASILY program an elevator!
Hi Paul, how have you been bro?, is it possible to use a Siemens S7-1200 with a software different from TIA Portal? if it is, please could you let me know which one you recommend? thanks a lot
Paul never wasted his breath. Many others had already tried, but the owners were EXTREMELY arrogant. They didn't listen to anybody about anything. It was hilarious. 😄

What an inspirational video and I appreciate sharing your story. I would like to get your courses on Udemy. By the way, I am hvac tech/ building automation systems tech currently. However, I am planning to get into automation/ engineering in the future.
Nice! You'll have fun learning this stuff and be surprised at just how easy it'll all be for you to pick up. Also, just a tip: you can save some money on my courses by getting them on www.plcdojo.com. ✌️😃
Another "victim" trying to deprecate the rewards other people earn through WORKING THEIR ASSESS OFF their entire lives. Pretty damn funny how THAT works, huh?
@@PaulLynn you literally spent 20 minutes telling the world how you had no idea what you were doing, with zero qualifications and a company gifted you the resources, time and money, to start your career. After you spent how long talking crap about how the business owners were just gifted their positions. If you look into 99% of successful entrepreneurs, they started out on someone else's charity. You took it and ran, good for you, a lot of people couldn't. But WAY more people never get the free lunch opportunity. Don't be mad bro, it just is what it is.
And why do you think that company hired me in the first place? Because I had a strong technical aptitude from working in a factory 70+ hours in a week since I was 18? Or because I served four years in the US Air Force as an aerospace ground equipment technician? Or because I had earned my Masters degree (by age 23) WHILE working 45 hours a week? And why do you think they suspected I would be able to handle something I knew nothing about? Was it because they had already seen me teach myself AutoCAD and equipment design in about 30 days and take on half of that entire workload for the whole company? Aside from blaming everybody else for your own station in life, what have YOU ever done? (... exactly) You don't know me. You're talking out your ass and judging things about which you know nothing which makes you a fool in my eyes. Do yourself a favor and just walk away.
@@PaulLynn Getting awfully defensive. All I've saying is, by your own account, you would have nothing if not for someone else's charity and generosity. Maybe it was due to their ineptitude and incompetence, but that's irrelevant. The resume you deiced to reference was clearly worthless, as you were unemployed, desperate for a job and took a job at aforementioned dump of a company. (rather ironic you put "Worked" and "Chair Force" in the same statement btw🤡) You don't like the reality that your not some self made genius that pulled yourself up by your own bootstraps, it hurts your ego, and it opposes the brand you've tried so hard to create. Which is the scam of most motivational "Self made" speakers.
@@PaulLynn theres nothing about this story that suggests you were silver-spooned. This guy is just an @$$. You taught yourself some really great skills and this could have easily gone sideways without you putting in the work!!!
