Caveat of smaller phones; good battery and less heat = thicker. And if you want a slim and small phone, the problem will be heat dissipation and battery life.
Probably won't. Several companies tried to bring them back like Samsung with the S10e and Asus with the Zenfone 9 and 10, but both companies have recently stopped producing these compact phones. Maybe because they don't sell as well as the other huge flagships. IMO 5.5 - 6.2 inches is the sweet spot.
As a jelly star user I immediately went and backed the Jellymax Kickstarter the second it went live. But the lack of a headphone jack has convinced me to cancel my super early bird pledge. If Unihertz tries to appeal to the super niche market for small and PRACTICAL smartphones...why would they REMOVE such basic features!?!?! If I wanted to carry a stupid adapter everywhere I'd rather buy an iphone mini, galaxy flip alike, zenphone, or any other more compact and reliable alternatives. Way to ruin brand loyalty😒
I think they should have made the size right between the Jelly star and the max, something like 4-4.5 inch display would have been perfect, personnally i don't plan changing my Jelly star for anything at the moment
I agree with that, 4-4.5 inches would still be usable. I’m on the fence with this. I’m using an iPhone SE and will either switch to the jelly star or this, but thinking that the jelly max might be a redundant buy
Yeah, that would also be my question. I had one of their phones, and it worked fine but was not for me, but the complete lack of software updates took me back to when Samsung launched 12 new models every year, and every model would get maybe 1 or 2 updates, and then be completely forgotten about.

S3 mini on steroids, I wanted a phone with these specs for so long, but now they really made it .. I don't know dude, it seems kind of unbaked, a lot of wasted space as I saw in the disassembly, speaker at the back is one of those things that we were happy it got changed, selfie camera punch hole is massive for the screen size, the glossy back can't be fixed with a case as it's too chunky already! Big companies spent thousands of hours tweaking camera profiles for every scenario that can't be made up with megapixels count! I'd probably pick the Asus Zenfone over this one even if it's older, more expensive, and a tad bit bigger.
I was excited for this one. I've been using the Jelly 2 for the past couple years. Unfortunately, my small hands won't work with even a 5". Large (normal) hands will feel good using this as a single hand phone. I just bought the Jelly Star instead. Hopefully we'll get a 4" Jelly at some point.

Honestly they could've had this size and put small bezels to house the camera and the speakers. Or just slap speakers to the bottom. Small phones like these and Zenfone 10 put flagships to shame with their battery size and presence of headphone jack at such small size (idk tho if this phone has a headphone jack but the battery size is insanely big for a phone just 5 inch, but they could work with a little thinner form)

Yes, it is fat, but it gives you enough space for your battery. I'm getting tired of super thin phones. Like, give me a reasonably sized phone with awesome battery. Stop shaving 0.1 mm every year. Just put a bigger battery.
