I want to play a Simic Hybrid/Path of the Beast (PoB) Barbarian. Simic Hybrid gets a feather fall ability and at level 6 PoB gets that jump ability bonus(doesn't specify type of jump). So I want to grapple and then perform a Cyclone Piledriver like Zangief from Street Fighter (also can jump up and go after flying folk, if they are low enough).
Just picture the PC as the offspring of a Kraken Priestess (based off Kraken Priest from VGM) where a Kraken had spoken through her while pregnant and some of it's power transferred to the baby. The PoB tail attack would be a tentacle, bite would be a squid beak, etc.
Also picture the PC having 1 or 2 funnels (what a squid uses for jet propulsion) on their back for the feather fall ability, to roll play the extra movement, jumps, etc. Can also invision them looking like Dr. Octopus for the other PoB Spider Climb ability. WereKraken Barbarian!
I think the first half of Infectious Fury could be good against a big bad of an enemy group who deals a lot of damage off of strikes and there are a lot of minions, do your work for you. I also think the capstone ability of the subclass also works with Friendly NPC's so if a DM is running a small group, they can add in a few NPC's even if they become fodder.
Just recently came across your channel, really enjoying it! Keep up the hard work and can't wait to see more of your content! Hope you have a blessed day!

Currently playing a Dhampir Beast barb. Think about this for a moment. Beast bite kinda sucks. Vamp one doesn't. So that give you the versitility to be able to bite as a vamp and claw as a beast. Now, with beastial soul. No need to take the breathing under water one or the spiderclimb one, now you can just take the jump one and be covered for everything aside from the swim speed. Now you can make crazy jumps from floors to cielings up walls to pillars, tree to tree with much worry on the dice betraying you. You jump and cling to any surface. This combo opens up 3D mobility the barbarian never had before. My vamp/werewolf hybrid is an absolute terror on the battlefield and no one escapes his hunger. Not something to sleep on imo.

This is a great combo! It really does pick up the slack in the subclass

I get that jumping is an awkward mobility mode, but it can be almost as good as flying, aside from staying in 3d movement. You can jump over difficult terrain without necessarily sacrificing speed, you can attack flying creatures easier, and you can circumnavigate obstacles like chasms. Plus, since you add the bonus from Bestial Soul to the result of the calculation, you don't need a 10ft run up to jump effectively, although you get 10ft to spare at Lv5. With Indomitable Might, you can even set your floor for the check to 20 or 24 with Primal Champion. I know that's late game stuff, but everything I said prior still applies.

This is true. I do feel that the rules for jumping are kinda the core problem here. I think it could be improved in a number of ways but as it stands, it seems to be an option that doesn't get explored often because of how the core mechanic works. It can definitely come in clutch in certain situations but it's rather rare.

Exactly. Almost forgot, if I could manifest an animal trait, probably go for mantis shrimp eyes so I can see radio waves.

The temporary HP from Call of the Hunt does go a little bit farther with the damage resistance you get while raging.

This is true. While raging, HP is effectively doubled vs enemies with weapons. This gives some extra usage for sure.
