Gentle Jim, thank you for the sew along videos. Just discovered them yesterday. I took your advise and bought ties from a thrift store. Looking forward to trying it out. I'll let you know how I do!

I want to try my hand at making ties. I just told my friend that I was wondering if I could take a loose and I’ll tie and what are you know I come across your video to show what I was thinking I can do. Great video! You are just simply awesome

I'm surprised you didn't put the tie all the way into the corner (after removing the selvage edge, of course), just to really maximize fabric usage. Great video, thanks!

HRHDMKYT And you know what makes for good pattern-making paper? A roll of "exam room" paper (the kind used in doctor's offices). There's a paper supply company near me that sells a giant roll for about US$5.00 Great deal, can make hundreds of patterns from one roll.
