Was gonna say all this needs is some greenery, but then you added it in the end. Yo sick assets man! Looks really clean, and malleable (hope that's the word, kind of like with clay how you can form it how you want) as well. Stretched out some pieces but they don't look stretched. If you have some more fauna like bushes or potted plants this would definitely be an interesting buy for me :)
Glad you like it 😄 I'm working on a bigger piece and its kinda all in that stretchable style. You're completely right that some more foliage, bushes and plants etc will enhance the look too, I have potted plants on my stretch goal once I've completed the larger parts of the scene. I added my Artstation link to the description if you wanna keep an eye on the final product ill post it there when its done.
Thanks 😁 Yea each piece is an individual asset in unreal so you do have to do a lot of piecing it together in engine, kinda like a Lego kit. This is a technique usually used for larger environment modeling for games because it means you can have a whole team using the same kit rather than have everyone modeling unique doors, walls windows etc for every building. The alternative would be making the entire house in something like Maya or Blender which gives you more control over the final look and in my experience is better for one off hero buildings.
The greenery is all cards with an alpha cutout in Unreal. I did these plants with just a hand painted color texture and an opacity texture. I essentially made 2 types of leaf card, one individual leaf and one cluster of 3 leaves then hand placed those cards into about 11 shapes. Some large square shapes some longer thin ones and 3 that have a bit of an overhang so they can sit on the balcony or edge of windows etc. Once you have all those clusters its just a matter of hand placing them. There are more procedural ways to do this but I like the hand placed touch if you have the time to spare. Hope that helps
