However, on Su30's manual, it says that it should be 2mm below the mark. It's interesting to see whether this will give a difference.

Will this frame work for the eflite twin 70mm because I need a frame to fly my eflite su-30 twin 70mm and it look Identical to it minus the paint scheme
Did Eflite sell the tooling to FMS for this model? Are all the replacement parts pretty much the same? I am buying a brand new Eflite SU30 but hoping that this model is close enough incase I need replacement parts
Hey Man very nice all around , Great Flying by you !! PLEASE do another video after your roll rate change, then wring it out !! P.S. missed Click Bait . Keep em flying!!
Great flying in the wind. I am thinking about picking up the J-11. Can you tell me the size of the main gear wheels? And does the J-11 have flaps? Thanks for all the videos and info that you pass along.
Good morning, I just purchased this model and I have some questions about centering. apart from the recoil of the battery, did you put weight on the rear to obtain the correct VG? Should it be centered at 145 mm with the landing gear extended or retracted? excuse my english thank you for your reply
Impressive as the eFlite SU30 is beautiful but under powered and cant do grass ops if its life depended on it. It sits in the hangar as a conversation piece now. Might have to look at this as a substitute
How different is it from the eFlite Su-30? They're basically the same airframe. Did FMS upgrade the motors/fans or add the Reflex? I love flying my Su-30 so not sure if I'd need this other than for parts to keep that one flying. I use 6000/6200 packs in the Su-30 so having to mod the battery bay to get the CG isn't needed. Nice flying...you need to put the ordinance on as it looks cool in flight with it on.
Hi Rich excellent video as always bud I've bought this jet last week and on your advise I've done the mods as I'm flying off grass is the cg based on the gear being up as when the gear is down I have to push the battery forward to get the 145mm cg point ?
It depends on the weight of your battery. Mine was pushed fully aft into the nose well area thru the hole I made. My battery was also a ROARINGTOP 6s 5500 70c pack that is a bit heavy.
@@RCINFORMER forgive me but I'm a bit confused as if I did my cg with the gear down I would have to push my battery half way up the battery tray and more worrying would be that when I put the gear up which travels forward would make the jet more nose heavy 🤔 I don't suppose you have a video showing how to set the cg on your SU27 ?
Can we say this model would be better with a 80mm motor ? Don’t you find it little “ slow” as far size/speed ratios? Look good , but.. i was fly in formation with mine ( another brand ) and this , difference was night and day as far performance and mostly speed .
This is the model that should have been offered by Horizon right from the beginning, not the Eflite Su-30 junk. The FMS version comes with superior fans and better servos. Many Eflite Su-30 owners ended up upgrading to the FMS 70mm V2 pro fans for much improved performance. I'd say the other modification that will transform these overweight models is to remove the air brake, and add a second battery in that compartment. It'll give 6+ minutes of spirited flying.
@@RCINFORMER You are not helping your case! 😂 I mean, if anything, by saying your CG is right in the recommended position, you are confirming that your model is setup really nose heavy.
@@RC4ever It's actually a bit unstable at this CG... You can feel it in the sticks as it is pitch sensitive & it flares easily. CG is in a good place at 145mm. 115mm would be to nose heavy. Anyway, this plane has a flyable CG "RANGE" & there is no perfect CG for it, it depends on your flying style. 145mm is not the aft limit, but it's towards the aft limit. It's definitely not nose heavy AF:)
@@RC4ever FYI, the FMS manual recommends 140-150mm ... the old E-flite manual recommended 115-150mm or something ridiculous like that... 115 was to nose heavy...
I bit on the J-11 livery... beauty.

It flys beautifully from the grass!
I fly my su 30 from grass all the time. I just put a bit of white duct tape around front strut/nose gear to stiffen it up and it takes off easily.
How different is it from the eFlite Su-30?
They're basically the same airframe. Did FMS upgrade the motors/fans or add the Reflex?

Any shift aft in that battery really helps. My elevator is almost neutral with the battery back in the well:)
Does it perform better or similar to the eflite su 30 ?
Slightly better than the SU-30. the motors are Slightly more powerful.
