I gotta say here are used to love Pentel. And I’ve used Pentel gel before and I really loved the purple one, but it started skipping on me and pretty much all of them I’ve ever used skipped on me so I’m really surprised that you’re saying that they don’t skip.
Cannot believe you guys didn't give a warning on the Preppy.... because once you get a Preppy, you learn about how great modern fountain pens are, you learn about converters (to fill with ANY FOUNTAIN PEN INK YOU WANT!), and then before you know it you have a Pilot MR, a Lamy Safari (or AL-Star), a TWSBI Eco (Or Diamond580). And then you cannot stop! So you have a Platinum 3776 Century, a Pilot Vanishing Point (or Custom 74), a Sailor ProGear.... it just keeps going! 🤩🤣
I literally just bought 10 Kokuyo Soft Ring Notebooks right before this video... So happy with my purchase, the paper was super smooth! Definitely investing in more of these as the school year continues
yes zebra pens are amazing!! I've been refilling mine for 7 years, it's my go to for everything. very cute, affordable, and the perfect pen all around 🥺💘
I can’t recommend the Preppy enough for fountain pen beginners! It’s pretty amazing, tbh. There’s also a Preppy marker and Preppy highlighter, if you want refillable versions of those kinds of pens.
indeed , My other expensive fountain pens stop working if I don't use them for few days but preppy never betrays. Preppy 02 is smooth and always ready for me.
@@pritambiswas4185 Well, that’s Platinum over all. I own several levels of Platinum fountain pens, my most expensive the Century with a 14kt nib. All of them keep working even if they rest for weeks. It’s the slip & seal mechanism in the cap and it’s awesome!
Darned kids have it easy these days. When I was your age I had to chisel everything into stone tablets and then carry them through three feet of snow to get home.
I got a platinum preppy as my first fountain pen but recently got a twsbi eco and I have to say that for beginners or school the preppy really is the best, because I found that it is less finicky to write with, as well as being much much cheaper (not where I live but for most people who will watch jet pens, I think) so you're not too scared it's gonna break. Gotta say that plastic is pretty sturdy tho, mine has fallen on the ground more than once (I try to be careful but yk how school is lol) and I have no cracks!
It's more that other types of pens hurt to write with more than a few lines is why I use fountain pens almost exclusively, more than the other reasons.😁 A big question: why does letter writing supplies like loose paper and envelopes seldom, if ever, get mentioned when stationery is mentioned?🤔
Do you guys have notebooks that prevent pencils from smearing over time? A lot of my writing from over a few months ago tends to start to smear on the back of the other page and the page it’s on.
Another excellent ballpoint, although not as easy on the budget, is the Zebra X-701. Smooth writing under most conditions, even from underneath. The pressurized barrel ensures consistent flow and the K refills are pretty inexpensive. I also highly recommend the Energel, great pens.
The Dr. Grip pen is one of the best pens I've used. It made writing comfortable during my chemistry clases, where I had to do reports and could only do them with pens.
maybe it's just me, but if your spiral-bound notebook is "scratching up" the inside of your backpack, the problem is not the binding. it is 100% because your backpack sucks. I do like my Kokuyo Campus binder though specifically because of the pull tab, so I might get a soft-ring notebook too. I cannot go back to standard looseleaf paper now that I've tried Sarasara.
yeah. but also spiral bound notebooks generally sucks because in my experience they rip up your paper and cover on the edges over time. i use binder notebooks and never looked back
Oh, absolutely. I hate how ragged my spiral-bound notebooks look after one semester. I will never go back to them after using binders. I just don't think scratches on the backpack matter when it's more likely one will actually wound oneself on the binding.
I cringed at every product haha It's too true. You can tell Japan appreciates their education system more than America by high quality, sturdy, long-lasting, and minimal-waste products.
If you're getting cheap pens, I'd recommend the Bic Cristal pens. Always smooth, reliable, super cheap, and they're a classic modern industrial design.
@@sollerona No, no I’m talking about Bic pens, but pilot pens are available in my country though. But not everything from pilot, but instead only a few things.
No attitude, just a sincere question: Why do you need special paper or notebooks for lefties? 🤔 My right hand moves over die rings in the middle of the notebook when I get to the right side of the left page. Your left hand moves over the rings when you start at the left side of the right page. I can't figure out why lefties have more trouble than righties. Can you please explain? 😊
@@HS-ml8dx the "front" side of a page is on the right side of a notebook's rings, so lefties will end up with their hand over the rings far more often than right handers do.
the soft ring mentioned in the video is good for lefties. however there is one binder notebook sold in jetpens that has rings on the top and bottom on the page, freeing up the middle for your hands :D the energel is good for lefties, but ballpoint pens are your safest choice
Really? I was gifted a Zebra Delguard 0.5 last year and absutely love it, but I was wondering if the Pentel Orenz would be better when I buy a 0.3, 'cause I push down too hard on my pencil. 🤔
@@radnukespeoplesminds Sounds? So you haven't used both yourself yet? Yeah, I'm a little concerned about the lead sheath too. Would love to hear from someone who has used it. Maybe they can give us an idea of whether our concern is valid.

Are these available in sri lanka
Seeing these videos makes me wanna buy an entire art/stationary shop 🥹
I legit want to buy the whole stock of my go-to-bookstore
That's probably my dream
Sometimes happens but just save ur money 💰 for the future

I recently bought Platinum Preppy as my first fountain pen ever and I can't believe how easy it is to write with it! Definitely worth it🥰

Note that Dr. Grip gel pens also hold Pilot Juice refills! You can really expand your color choices that way!
Yes! I've been using Dr. Grip the last 4 years. Right now I have yellow, pink, sky blue and purple ink

Energels are good, I love the needle point. But the ink turns gray if you write on white out, so I prefer the Sarasa ink, which stays black.
Your voiceovers are always so pleasant to listen to! xx

Platinum Preppy for the win!!!

So that's how you use Pentel Orenz. I've always left a bit of lead outside and been wondering why it's always breaking
As someone who has always had difficulty hand writing these videos are opening a whole new world of ergonomics. Thanks for the content.
Could you do some awesome videos for office workers who don't work from home? Would love to see how I can upgrade my work setups :D

the pentel orenz also comes in 0.7 for my fellows who like thicker lead !!! i have one, its lovely :]
Love the needle point Energel
“Every erase leaves a dirty face!” My second grade teacher. Too bad JetPens wasn’t around in 1968!
Weird how just seeing those pens skipping started frustrating me and giving me a bit of anxiety, like it was some kind of school related PTSD.
I just bought from your shop. Really excited ❤😃
I can definitely relate with the mechanical pencil lead breaking, it just wastes pencil lead and is very annoying
Energel are the best affordable gel pens. I use their brown ink refills with my Machine Era brass pen body. A fantastic combo!
Those Zebra Serari ballpoint pens are tempting! How do they compare to Ballograf?
Why oh why Pentel Orenz isn't available in 0.7?
Do you guys have notebooks that prevent pencils from smearing over time? A lot of my writing from over a few months ago tends to start to smear on the back of the other page and the page it’s on.

The eraser and Campus notebooks are my picks!
I feel like buying all of these right now
Can you make a video for school supplies for middle school
honestly, don't ever buy disposable pens, fountain pens is the way to go
After 1 year of college, I went looking for jobs and my pen was Pilot DR Grip!!❤ I love the grip, easily hold on to it.
I just realized that I volunteered to subscribe to a channel that is basically just commercials for office/school supplies. 😂
I thought this video is about "stationary you definitely don't need, but you WANT to have"
