People always talk about how women use these when grieving a baby, but from what I've seen, almost no one has them for that reason. Most collectors just have them because they like them. I also know one woman with a mild intellectual disability who has a few and treats them as her babies. She knows they're not "real" but it seems to be a good outlet for her.

A very significant use for dolls like this not even mentioned in this video is in our elderly population. Older folks can become hyper fixated on their baby, and need to check on their child. Just like CGI or video game, there is some unexplainable quality that gives off its artificiality. IMO, they aren’t a great replacement.

Oh I wish I could have a girl and a boy that move their eyes, mouth, breath, as well a being able to feed them a bottle and food. Also have the realistic skull where you can feel their fontanels and their cranial ridges, baack hair and very dark brown or black eyes, if those adorable also made all the baby sounds. The would be a very big seller. I can't ever have them but they would help other women that have had miscarriages like I did. This is just an idea. You and the rest of the people that all work together to create such Amazingly Awsome babies are soooo talented.☺

So many people here worrying about creeps and pedo and although I can understand. If a creep is rich enough to afford one of those they likely have more then the mean to harm a real life child. 😬Thus I think the fear of that is overblown. And the main buyers are movies and the medical profession as well as the collectors.
I also feel the uncanny valley effect but remember to not stigmatize the people that need them or love them as art objects or dolls. It's a pastime like any others and the hobbyists who do no harm must receive enough flack for it. As someone into anime when it wasn't popular and mainstream and everyone thought you were a creepy nerd I can tell you this comment section have almost a similar vibe. Those that are in the furry community sadly know what I'm talking about to this day. So please, you don't have to like it but don't be jerk and think that everyone who want or need those are pedo.
