- AMS Performance does it! Worlds first 6 second GTR, Gidi's Alpha G! The AMS team overcame every obstacle in their way and clicked off an amazing 6.9 @ 196mph, truly amazing. Much respect to Gidi and the team at AMS for building such an absolute beast of a GTR!

I was watching 1320's video on it and apparently the car broke up and he had to let off right before the 1/4 mile mark. There's a good chance the car might have ran a bit faster than a 6.9 if it didn't.
pretty sure the car didnt break. I believe they said the car broke free, he lost traction when he hit the last gear causing him to have to left off. I could be wrong.

PEOPLE Just admire the fact that its the first r35 GT-R to get in the 6's.and the first AWD car to get into the 6's. We all know the Ls twin turbo, big block nitrous V8's or your ford v8 can do it better. There is no denying that an american V8 drag car will run faster than this GT-R . The reason for the excitement is that this is the First GT-R to get into the 6's since the r35 was released in 2009. I am a GT-R Fanboy but I give respect where it is due, even if the car wins or lose. So please give respect for the people that put so much effort in a platform that is still fairly new in the Drag Racing Scene to pull off a monumental moment.

Who cares. GTRs are boring and always have been. That car probably has over 200 grand in it and that's being conservative. You can accomplish the same thing with a lighter weight car for much less money and it won't sound like shit.
It's not about being like all the rest. It's about making that platform into a drag capable machine. If you were a true motorhead, you would appreciate the accomplishment and know the difference between this car and all the rest. 2-wheel V8's and 4-wheel V6's... apples and oranges.
