A Montecarlo ha vinto quattro volte, ma è solo la punta di diamante di un curriculum Stratos…sferico che comprende Tre Campionati Mondiali, tre Campionati Europei, una Coppa Mondiale FIA Piloti, tre Campionati Italiani, un Campionato di Francia, cinque Rally Sanremo, sei Tour de Corse, tre Tour de France, due Giri d’Italia, e tanto altro ancora! E’ la Lancia Stratos, ‘indimenticata “Regina dei Rally” che ha segnato uno dei periodi più belli della specialità.

Nel 1970 il carrozziere Bertone presentò al reparto corse Lancia un modello avveniristico di una vettura caratterizzato da una aerodinamica del tutto innovativa. Dopo un lungo sviluppo si arrivò a creare un'auto da competizione e una gran turismo di tutto rispetto: la Stratos. Motore Ferrari Dino V6 da 2418cc montato in posizione posteriore centrale capace di 250cv (280 per l'evoluzione con motore 24 valvole), telaio a piattaforma con strutture in acciaio e carrozzeria in fibra e vetroresina, sospensioni a quattro ruote indipendenti e trazione posteriore. La motricità si rivelò efficace in qualsiasi condizione di fondo stradale e l'aerodinamica ben sviluppata permetteva una buona penetrazione che sommati al peso di soli 980kg la rendevano come la migliore vettura di quei tempi. E' stata la prima auto al mondo ad essere costruita appositamente per correre nei rally; omologata nel 1972 nel gruppo 4 anticipava di svariati anni alcuni elementi tecnologici che vennero introdotti anche sulle vetture di gruppo B solo dal 1982. Debuttò al Tour de corse con Sandro Munari andando a sostituire la gloriosa ma ormai superata Fulvia HF. Vinse tre titoli mondiali ( ' 74 -' 75 -' 76 ) con 62 vittorie assolute e numerosi titoli europei e nazionali per un totale di 180 affermazioni ufficiali. Per omologarla era necessario produrre almeno 500 esemplari sempre con motore Ferrari ma con 190cv e tre carburatori a doppio corpo; raggiungeva una velocità di oltre 230 km/h. Nel 1976 venne sviluppata anche una versione turbo da 450cv destinata alle gare endurance; nel frattempo il reparto corse Lancia venne acquistato dalla Fiat la quale decise di ritirare la Stratos per promuovere una nuova vettura da lanciare poi sul mercato: la 131 Abarth.

Telaio accorciato e grande agilità
La Nuova Stratos è realizzata sulla base della Ferrari F430 Scuderia a cui è stato accorciato il telaio di circa 20 cm adattato ad una carrozzeria in fibra di carbonio lunga appena 4,18 metri, 33 cm in meno rispetto alla F430.

Que bronca da el grupo Fiat dejar agonizando una marca tan mítica como Lancia, ganadora en el mundo de los Rally, que ahora no tiene autos de la estirpe de los mas glorioso coches jamás construidos. Hay un montón de marcas cuyo coches son meramente publicitarios, jamás ganaron carreras mundiales y Lancia habiendo ganado todo, batido record, no tenga autos. FIAT es una vergüenza Nacionale.

I remember everyone hated the fact of using the 6 cylinder engines. They were wanting to use the 8 cylinders. The manufactures were proving and promoting the 6 cylinder engines as a high performance engine.

In dirt raly, I find this car extremly diffucult to handle. I use logitech g-27, but I race with manual shifting. I can win on professional level wth R4 Subaru WRX with manual, but not this beast.
