I'm all for suspension of disbelief in scifi, but it has so make at least some sense. Those upsidedown turning buildings makes no damn sense whatsoever, and I just cannot ignore them. Some kind of capsule buildings that turn alongside the shell would have been just about plausible enough to not be irritating. Yup. It's not about ceasing to be human or that being human sucks. It's about expanding on what humans can do. Making an already good thing even better. Or in other words, classical transhumanists want an expansion pack for an already good game, modern ones want a sequel of a different genre entirely.

5:06 Amen. Auto scrolling text is terrible design. I end up either mashing screenshot just to read it outside the game, or flat out ignore it because you won't give me enough time; so it's obviously not important and may as well not exist.
I'm a super slow reader. Usually I can read it in time, barely, but for youtubers reading it out loud is horror. I really don't understand timed text. Reading speeds are so different between people. Some might struggle to read it all, while some might fall asleep, because it isn't fast enough. The only reason to use it, I can think of, is maybe lazy programming - so you don't have to make a button or similar?
@@TheYear2525 You're still putting in a prompt to move to the next window at the end either way. it would be objectively simpler from a coding standpoint to not have a scrolling text thing and just have the next batch of text pop up.
27:31 Made up, but like 40 years ago and sensible: "Lunarcrete, also known as "mooncrete", an idea first proposed by Larry A. Beyer of the University of Pittsburgh in 1985, is a hypothetical construction aggregate, similar to concrete, formed from lunar regolith, that would reduce the construction costs of building on the Moon.[3] AstroCrete is a more general concept also applicable for Mars. "
I recently learned, that regolith (moon-dust) is quite toxic on the basis that it is basically asbestos. The reason is, that there is not much natural corrosion of the silica as there is no wind or water to grind the particles down. But hey, as long as lunacrete is cheap.
I know you are trained as a geologist but your pronunciation of regolith tweaked my eardrums. I've always heard it with 'reg' like 'REGular.' Also, my memory from the Apollo program days was that the moon is pretty much covered in regolith. 😅

I recognize the features on the map as being from the side of the moon that is facing Earth. In the game it's just going to be night there. The "dark side of the moon" isn't literally dark, saying in case you are not joking. It's "dark" in the sense that it can never bee seen from the direction of the Earth, but it experiences day and night, like the "bright" side of the moon, during it's rotation around the Earth. It's just happens that the rotation of the moon is tidally locked to Earth, that means one rotation of the moon (a moon day) is exactly as long as one rotation of the moon around the Earth. Thus it always faces Earth with the same side. The side that is facing away is called the "dark side of the moon", but like I said, "dark" doesn't refer to the absence of light but rather to our knowledge and exploration. Also magnetic fields are a thing, redirecting the solar wind. Else you couldn't see aurorae at night.
@@TheYear2525 Yes you’re absolutely right. What I meant was, he’s on the nighttime (ie “dark”) side, and has drones crashing due to malfunctions from “sun exposure”. I just found it amusing.

Why, exactly, is solar activity a concern if you're currently on the dark side of the moon? The moon itself should be protecting the crawler.
The dark side of the moon is hidden from Earth, not hidden from the Sun
Even with Earth's magnetoshphere, a large enough solar flare would be devastating to technology.
